Hi! My name is Nash, I am an 14-15 week old, 14lb and growing small/medium breed hound mix - maybe beagle, treeing walker or maybe basset? My 2 brothers and I were found in a ditch in Tennessee and sent to rescue. We came pretty sick and have gained our strength and are ready to take on the world! My foster mom says that I’ve come a long way since I arrived too afraid for people to touch me, now I am the first to greet her every morning or hop into a strangers laps especially kids! I even love going to soccer and baseball games to meet all the new people there. I have also perfected the art of puppy kisses and will lick your face if you hold me. My happiest place is playing with my dog friends and my brothers and BOY do I LOVE food!! If you drop it I promise you, I will sniff it out and eat it quickly! I also love my peanut butter kong when it’s time to go in my crate or wind down. I absolutely love to run and wrestle and play tug of war with our fancy rope toys or any ball insight! Turkey tendons are my favorite chew and sleeping next to you or a furry friend is my favorite place to be. I am a sweet boy and very affectionate and will seek out someone to cuddle dog or human. I am the first to run to my foster mom when she calls my name. And love to play with my foster families kids! I am already quite smart and social! I love my 6 foster dog friends especially the pittie mix and the Aussie who take turns being my mama! I’ve met my grandma’s chi and he was so fun too so were her cats and am very respectful of their corrections. I appropriately greet new dogs and have been a puppy rockstar at our adoption events saying hello to everyone. I love children even being held by them gently in their laps and have met those 2-17. I’ve trained foster human kids to chase and play fetch with me. I am a smart boy and doing very well pottying outside with routine, sleep in my crate and stay quiet at night and wake my foster mom up at 6 to go potty and eat. I have learned to “sit” “touch”, down” and are working on recall and I do also know my name. If you are looking for chiller pup who loves to play and be around other dogs and kids Nash is your perfect pair! While he doesn’t have to be on top of you or always carried he loves his humans and fur friends and actively seeks their attention! Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process. Lady is a long legged 1 year old Beagle mix with a friendly personality! She wants to make friends right away, so she's learning how to understand boundaries with other pups. She warms up quickly to new human friends and though she's strong, she is also gentle! She is doing well with free roam and doing very well with potty training so far. She has lots of energy and is excited to explore everything, playing non stop. Everything is a game, even just foster mom putting on shoes is fun for Lady! Completely potty trained with zero accidents and amazing bladder control. He’s great with everyone he genuinely loves everyone he meets! He’s got his basics down: sit, lay down, and paw, and he’s leveling up his stay and even learning to walk on the treadmill. He’s a big fan of walks and absolutely lives for a good run. They are warming up to the staff at Tail Gate for Dogs and having a blast playing with all their new friends. We have decided that the boys can move into separate homes but there needs to be a playful dog buddy in their new foster to adopt home. They are doing great with our heartworm slow-kill program and we are hopeful they will be negative by the end of the year. The great part about our program is there is no exercise restriction so they can play and take walks. 7-13-2025: The boys have been in doggie day care/ boarding for a couple of weeks are are doing great!! They are warming up to the staff at Tail Gate for Dogs and having a blast playing with all their new friends. We would love to move them into a foster home, however, with a loving, caring patient family to help them get ready for their forever home. 6-21-2025: Marky and Melvin are youngish Beagle brothers we saved from an over-crowded shelter in Memphis, TN. Sadly both boys have heartworms and both have a grade 2/6 heart murmur that we hope will improve the longer they are in our heartworm slow-kill program. My guess is they are about 2 years old and have not suffered too much kindness from humans as they are timid and a little feral-- but there is hope. They are great with other dogs and cat safe. I have seen them fight with each other, but for the most part, they are a pair. We need a loving, patient foster to help them learn that most people are kind. Marky- the bigger one is a little more open to pets and cuddles. I found that both boys liked hot dogs and food is going to be a huge part of their recovery. We will be doing blood work soon, but I can just about guarantee that they both have at least Lyme disease that may be causing the heart murmurs. We are treating them as if they are infected as part of our heartworm slow-kill protocol anyways. We will also be adding some good supplements to help their heart and bodies heal. All 3 tested positive for heartworms and all surely have tick borne disease and I can only imagine how bad Queenie's teeth are. They are all now safe in the Chicago area after a transport out of Memphis on 9-26. These 3 dogs have suffered some neglect besides their health care neglect, but with some time and patience they will learn to trust humans. Queenie has moved to her own foster. Arnold and Dempster just need a lot of human interaction and cuddles to help build their confidence. They are great with other dogs so a foster with confident well socialized dogs in the home will help them adjust to kindness. We need some exceptional fosters or foster to adopt homes that will help with their heartworm slow kill treatment plan.
