Story
Please contact Diane Pedulla (dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Creamy and dreamy little Beagle boy KARL NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:    Karl        Best Guess for Breed:    Beagle mix      Best Guess for Age:    3 years as of February 2024       SEX:    male   Approximate Weight:    18 lbs.   Gets Along With:    other dogs. We haven't seen Karl with cats or kids but we can test.   Currently Living at:   the shelter, Karl needs a foster and a forever home.   Special adoption considerations: Karl is a truly Lucky Dog. Although he has tested positive for heartworms, treatment has been scheduled! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment.  We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the screening process.    Karl is Looking For:   New people to love! This adorable cream-colored hound is sure to break hearts everywhere he goes. Can't you just picture him sitting in your lap as you watch Netflix movies together?   But there's much more to Karl than just his sweet face and long, soft ears. Beagles are hardy dogs that can walk all over town, with several stops along the way so they can sniff everywhere. Karl will love checking out his new neighborhood so be prepared to take him on several long walks each day.   Beagles have been called the ambassadors of the dog world because, having been bred to hunt in packs, they are typically friendly with other dogs. Karl will enjoy the opportunity to play off-leash with other dogs so plan to visit a local dog park or other enclosed space where he can run without being able to escape. Karl will be a loving and loyal companion but still won't be able to resist whatever scent he picks up on. Start training early with Karl so he will understand what he needs to do to be a very good boy.   What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update once Karl arrives from the shelter and spends some time with a foster.   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. This sweet girl has been through a bit and she's just eager to land in her own home, where she's safe and loved. She's looking forward to long sniffy walks (with that beagle nose!), romps in the park, and all the adventures her humans can dream up. Making new pup and people pals along the way sounds great as well.    And at her size - she's gonna be perfect for snuggling. She'll tuck perfectly alongside you on the sofa, or even on your lap if that's your and her thing. What do you say? Are those huge, warm eyes what you want to see when you glance down at the companion by your side? What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Please contact Diane Pedulla (dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet young Beagle seeking fresh start and love! SAMMY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!  Come meet Sammy and other great adoptable dogs this Saturday (Feb. 24th) from 12-2 pm at Unleashed by Petco in Arlington (5400 Langston Blvd., Arlington, VA 22207)! Name:  Sammy        Best Guess for Breed:   Beagle mix   Best Guess for Age:   1 year as of October 2023      SEX:   Male   Approximate Weight:   31 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats but he can be tested. due to his shyness, Sammy cannot go to a home with children under the age of 12. Special Considerations: Sammy is shy and needs to go to a home with a welcoming resident dog to show him the ropes. Because of his shy personality, we do not recommend him for a home with children under the age of 12.    Currently Living at:  DC area foster Sammy is Looking For:   His forever home! This sweetie is pretty young and hasn't seen nearly enough of the world. He is eager to burn all that awesome young-dog energy on long sniffy walks (with that beagle nose!), romps in parks, and all the adventures his humans can dream up - and needs a little extra to get to the point where he feels confident trotting through the world that way. Opportunities to make new pup pals, see new places and experience new things at his pace, and training will all help build his braves! With love and patience, Sammy has already come a long way since leaving the shelter. Most of all, he wants to know he's safe and loved and under his own roof - to know what life as a well-loved dog is. To help him gain more confidence Sammy needs a home where there is already another dog. You should not go to home with kids under the age of 12.   Sammy can’t wait to share all the adoring gazes, tail wags, and kisses he's been stockpiling. What do you say? Is Sammy the companion you've been seeking? What My Foster Says About Me:  Sammy is super sweet! He was afraid of the stairs at first but now can go up and down. He would prefer to hang out with his people but can be lured in to his crate with a treat. Sammy needs  to work on house training. He does great riding in the car and playing with other dogs at the dog park. Sammy is filled with energy and can’t wait to find his forever home. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Story
When you meet Jammin’ Max what first strikes you is his beautiful caramel colored coat of fur and his soft and warmly smiling face.  This dog is incredible as a friendly and happy boy that could be a dog you take anywhere in the world and with any type of experience to encounter together. We think this boy is one of those wonderfully designed Heinz 57 dogs that embodies the breeds of Beagle/Shepherd/Lab…. all a guess but we feel pretty certain on the Beagle/Hound dominance. Jammin’ Max is about 45 pounds and 2-3 years old.  He is fully vetted and neutered.  He is crate trained and housebroken, using a doggie door very well.   Where he is now, they let him sleep on the bed overnight and he does great!  At 6AM he is ready to go outside after a good 7 hours of sleep.  One thing we know for sure:  This dog is all about loving you and “licking” you.  He is amazing as a farm dog that does not bother any of the creatures who live there harmoniously. This boy is pretty perfect and ready to find his final and forever home.   Is that you!?   Contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you can give Jammin’ Max a home!!!  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.February 24, 2024, 11:06 pm
