Story
You can't get more perfect than Mac! This 25 lb 2-year-old beagle mix checks all the boxes: he is crate trained, potty trained, good with dogs, kids, and even cats! He is always happy and eager to please his humans. It is pretty impossible to take a picture of him without his tail being a blur, because it's constantly wagging! He is pure joy and love. He walks well on the leash, And he's always up for a stroll in the neighborhood, a hike on the trail, or a game of fetch or tug in the yard. Having a quieter day? Worry not. Mac will curl up next to you for a good snuggle on those lazy rainy Sunday mornings. We know what you're thinking. Oh, he's a beagle mix, he must bark a lot. Sorry to burst your bubble! Mac is not much of a barker. Even when his next door neighbor barks at him each time he steps foot outside, Mac marches on unbothered and with a smile on his face. You've got to admit, Mac is a pretty rare find! Even as he's going through heartworm treatment he's handling things pretty well and maintains a positive attitude! If you live in DC/MD/NoVa and are looking for a portable sized best friend for life whose only goal in life is to bring you as much happiness as he possibly can, consider Mac!! Start the process by filling out an application for him below. https://forms.gle/rY8pBSk6hTMWVzZcA **Mac is currently heartworm positive and undergoing heartworm treatment, which is paid for in full by FCAR**

Story
Rollie was surrendered after his owner died. He had never lived inside until he came into rescue. He is now house and crate trained. He does love to run and play and hide his bones outside. He had very little socialization with other dogs and is a little dog selective (prefers females more than males). He's more of a loner than most. He has always been crated inside to avoid the mischief a beagle tends to get into with chewing items he isn't supposed to be chewing. It is more for his safety of not swallowing anything harmful. He will bark to let you know when he needs to go potty. He has been completely vetted. He deserves a home of his own to retire in and enjoy the rest of his life. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please email us for the link to the adoption application.

Story
Meet Violet! Violet may be one-eyed, blind and deaf, but don’t let that fool you ~ this girl is still living her best adventurous life. Found as a stray, Violet took to the skies on a volunteer flight to freedom at Miri's Haven. She loves strolling the yard, politely requesting pats and attention, and if fried chicken enters the house, she will locate it with shocking accuracy. Violet may be adorable, but she has standards: soft beds are required, fluffy blankets are mandatory, and rolling around in said blankets is a daily ritual. She is house trained when kept on a schedule and taken out regularly, and she's looking for a home without stairs. Or with a human servant prepared to carry her up and down like the Beagle Queen she is - either will do. Violet adores pets and attention, and absolutely loves food - and even the smell of it! This smart girl is food- and scent-motivated, and she's learning how much fun snuffle mats are. She especially loves snacking on dried sweet potato. Violet isn't leash-trained but loves to be outside, so she's looking for a home with a fenced in yard where she can do all the sniffing her heart desires. She'll do best in a family that can provide structure and a consistent routine. Violet is a great passenger in the car, sleeps soundly through the night, and doesn't mind staying home when her humans are out. She gets along well with everyone - kids, cats, and other dogs included. She needs daily eye drops but takes them easily like a great patient. Violet is a sweet old soul with a gentle heart and a nose that absolutely works overtime. She is so ready to bring her cozy, loving vibes into a forever home...could it be yours? Violet is approximately 12 years old and 20 lbs. Fostered in Severn, MD Please apply at MirisHaven.org

Story
Meet MINNIE! Sweet Minnie is about 5 years old, 25 pounds, female, black and tan beagle/terrier mix. She is so sweet and a friendly gal! She loves to get attention from her humans! Everyone she meets adores this sweet girl. While she is a tripod, Minnie does not let that hold her back -- she can be energetic, and loves playing in the yard, particularly when on squirrel and bird alert! After a walk, Minnie settles down for a nice nap or just to hang out with her people. She has done well with cats in her home. Minnie has great house manners, including being housetrained. Poor Minnie has not always been properly taken care of but has left her horrible past behind and is ready to find her forever home. When found by animal control in NC, she had a painful leg injury. Despite the pain, she was so sweet that the shelter made an urgent plea to save her....PetConnect Rescue was able to come to her rescue, bring her to the DC area to a great foster, and give her the necessary medical care she needed, including amputation of the irreparable leg! Although she is a tripod, she has so much love and happiness to give to her new family for many years! Minnie would love to curl up in your lap to hang out on a spring evening; she loves to cuddle and get pets! Minnie is up-to-date on vaccines, preventatives, and has had bloodwork, and heartworm treatment! She is eager to find her person(s) to love! ***Please note that our first step is to fill out an application (it does not commit you in anyway but allows us to discuss with you if you and the dog are a good fit). In addition, an important step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies ), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and the general appearance of the animal at the time they enter our system. For more information, please email Robin at rturner@petconnectrescue.org. **If you're viewing this on Petfinder, please visit www.petconnectrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**
