Story
Teddy is a loving 6½-year-old Beagle/English Bulldog mix I’ve had since he was 18 weeks old. Due to a recent divorce and working 10–16 hour days, I can no longer give him the time and attention he deserves. My priority is finding him a home where he can thrive. He’s healthy, in great shape, and his only past medical issue was an ear infection that has been fully resolved. His vaccinations are about six months overdue due to financial hardship following my divorce.Teddy is affectionate with people and does well with other animals. The only behavior to be aware of is food guarding. There have been two incidents over his lifetime where he reacted to another dog approaching his food bowl. Because of this, he should be fed separately from other pets or continue working on this behavior with training.I’d love to see him in a home with room to roam and someone who has the time to enjoy him. There is no adoption fee—I only want to find him a safe, loving, permanent home.

Story
Meet Flora!Flora is a 1 year old, Spayed Female, Beagle/German Shepherd mix.Flora is a gorgeous medium sized girl who came to us heavily pregnant. She gave birth the same day she came in and was an incredible mom! Now it's her turn to be the center of attention! Flora loves other dogs and we think she would want a fur buddy in her home. She will likely do best in a home without cats. She loves children and will do well in a family setting. Flora will need a 6 foot fence or to be leash walked in her forever home. Flora cannot wait to meet you and is desperately looking for a loving home. Visit our website to fill out the adoption application: https://bit.ly/HSofMacombadoptionapplicationIf your application was approved and you received a call back from the Humane Society of Macomb for a meet and greet, plan to take the animal home that day. We cannot place puppies/dogs on hold to come pick up for another day.All Humane Society of Macomb animals are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, tested and microchipped.Thank you for showing an interest in our pets. We can never guarantee the breeds of the animals. We do not DNA test. Please feel free to call us with any questions.

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application completely. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.
