Story
This sweet gal was found wandering around a city dump. A stranger rescued her but could not keep her so, she ended up at our shelter. She is a bit overweight, but we are working on that. She has a very kind disposition and gets along with other dogs of all ages. Puppies are a bit much for her, though, so she would do better around older dogs. Older kids would probably also be best for her. She is housetrained and will need a little work on a leash. She does like to be around people and can be a bit talkative when left alone (she does settle down). She gets around great, and her weight doesn’t stop her from jumping on a comfortable couch! She’s just an older lady needing a forever home with a laid-back family… some exercise is needed, but not too much. We also use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. We transport every weekend, alternating between the Northeast and the Midwest.

Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. June 18, 2024, 8:30 pm

Story
Beau is about 8 years old...Beau can be a sweet dog...Beau is food motivated...he has full range of the house during the work day which can sometimes be as much as 12 hours (not on purpose)... I rescued Beau in November 2023...previous owner stated that he was rescued as a small pup from a puppy mill...he was being rehomed last November due to change in living arrangements... Beau needs attention….Beau has been in daycare for the past month and his behavior drastically changed…I learned Beau just needs time and attention… Beau is great for long walks...he has walked as much as 6 miles... Beau is a creature of habit...once the routine is established, he understands and will be in compliance...to gain compliance, might need to use a treat or the same words...

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Della is a tall and slim senior hound mix, she actually still feels and acts like a young dog. Della has a beautiful multicolored coat. She gets along very well with other dogs and enjoys playing in the yard in her foster home with a other dogs. She will do best in a home with a fenced yard and someone that enjoys long walks or other outdoors activities. Della is 25 lbs but her body build makes her look bigger than her weight. Della is comfortable in a crate (42in) where she sleeps through the night on her soft bed. The crate is her refuge during the day too, the door is always open for her to walk in for a nap. The foster home can be a noisy place at times since she shares with 6 other dogs of all ages and sizes. Della has a friendly, loving demeanor but to get attention she sometimes jumps up for hugs and may knock small children over. Della is very food motivated which makes training easier, old dogs can definitely learn new tricks! Della is looking for a forever home to spend the rest of her days in. (Della qualifies for our senior for a senior program.) Want a dog to keep you active Della is your girl! Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption.
