Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hello! I’m Tanbo (now named Snoop). I was adopted from Last Day Dog Rescue as a pup and now see myself back here due to family issues. I’m a very inquisitive pup and like to find my way into many things, but I’m learning that I’m not allowed to do so.  Anything to do with treats and I’ll be right there with you, but if you have your own food, I may sniff it. I really like to play with toys. As long as the toys are not stuffed, we won’t have a mess. I shred them within minutes, so harder chews would be best. I like to go for walks, I’m leash trained with slight pulling but I’m learning how not to do that. While we are out on our walks, I like to sniff everything I can because it’s all so interesting to me. After our long walks I like to curl up on the couch next to my humans and sleep. I enjoy being under the covers with them as well! When meeting new people, I do bark. Once I get to know them, I’m fine. I do get along with other dogs, I just bark a lot. However, I also resource guard my toys, so being an only dog may be best for me. I do chase cats, so I might not be the best with them. My current humans think I may have some separation anxiety, so for now I will have to be in a crate until I calm down and learn they will come back. I was just recently diagnosed with Cushing’s disease so I will be medicated for the rest of my life, but that doesn’t make me any different to love. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. November 15, 2024, 9:15 am

Story
Attributes Dog friendly Crate trained Good in cars Requires a fence Working on housetraining Hi there, I am Cosmic Brownie. Yes, sigh. My foster parents call me Brownie. They say I am a sweet, little (23 pounds and low riding) boy. I do need to work on my trust skills with people. I will come trotting up, or follow behind you, with my tail wagging, but if you go to pet me, I tuck my tail and get a look of worry in my eyes. But we are working on that. I am also not a big snuggler. Foster mom likes to do snuggling practice with me to help. But I sit in her lap for 5 minutes, and then get down. I am pretty quiet for the most part, until I see those pesky squirrels, and I let them have it. I have a couple of toys I will chase around. I can still get my groove on, see my video. I would love people food, and try to counter surf, but I am too short to get my nose up there. But I will settle for a treat ball and whatever treat goodies you have. I walk pretty decently for a beagle, but I need to stop and smell, of course. I also ride well in the car; I just lie on the back seat. I am crated while everyone is at work, and no problems. At night, I sleep in a doggy bed or on a doggy pillow, and I sleep through the night. Foster dad loves that. I do need a fenced yard as I like to run around, and when I need to have a bowel movement, I am all over the yard until I go. Older kids only, as I have not been around small kids, and a quieter home would probably be best for me. My foster parents think I might have been an outside dog. I seem much happier and less timid when outside versus in. I have learned to love the dog pillow and bed, though!!! I am pretty much house-trained. I will go to the door, or if you see me get antsy, take me out. You do have to keep an eye on me as I still have moments where I want to go before getting outside. A home where someone is around at least part-time, might be best, so I don’t have to hold it all day long. If you think I’m the right boy for you, please contact your Midwest BREW adoption counselor. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
Cori 8 years old Attributes Single dog home Dog friendly Housetrained Good in cars High energy Requires a fence Adult only home preferred Cori is a sweet beagle girl with an adorable underbite who recently celebrated her 8th birthday. She was obviously very much loved in her previous home, but sadly, her mom passed away. Now, Cori is looking for a forever home where she can be spoiled again. Cori would do best in an adult-only home where she can have ample time to settle in – she prefers a quieter lifestyle and would like to be the only dog in the household. That being said, Cori would love to have regular playtime with other dogs and enjoys her visits to doggy daycare where she can socialize with other dogs. Cori hasn’t been around cats, so we don’t know how she would react to them. Cori will thrive in a home where she has a regular routine and will be walked at least once a day (and preferably more) to burn off some of her beagle energy. She is fully house trained, but she doesn’t potty on leash, so a fenced yard is a must. Car rides with Cori are a breeze – she’s the perfect passenger when it’s time to hit the road! If Cori seems like the beagle buddy you’ve been looking for, please contact Midwest BREW to learn more about her. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
Mila Attributes Potties on leash Good in car rides Good with young kids (lives with a 2 yr old) Medium energy Not dog friendly Housebroken Loves squeaky toys Mila is looking for her perfect family after being returned to the rescue due to her prior family’s allergies. This sweetie is 8 years old, but she’s definitely young at heart! She’s a sturdy 40 pounds and is a medium-energy gal. She enjoys her walks (she walks well on a leash) and sniffing around the yard smelling all of the smells. Mila rides well in the car and would be delighted to join her new family on all of their adventures. Mila is good with young children. She’s never been around cats, and she will need to be an only dog. Now that the warmer weather is here, Mila likes to lounge on the backyard deck, watching the world go by. When she’s outside, she will do well on either a tie-out or in a fenced yard. Although she’s not much of a cuddler, Mila does enjoy being around her people and would prefer a family where someone is home most of the time. She’s housetrained and potties on a leash as well. She loves to play with any toys she can get her paws on, and like any beagle, she enjoys the occasional treat. When it’s bedtime, Mila happily curls up on foster mom’s bed for a restful night of sweet beagle dreams. NOTE: Dog may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Story
DAISY & WIGGLES Attributes Bonded Good on car rides Not best for apartments Housetrained Will potty on leash Dog friendly Requires a fence Medium energy Say hello to Wiggles and Daisy, a charming pair of 7-year-old Beagle girls with hearts of gold! They came to us when their previous family’s health was failing and they could no longer take care of the girls. Wiggles and Daisy both love to run in the yard with their noses to the ground, and they will let you know when they have spotted a squirrel in the tree. Both girls are a little shy, but they do enjoy some pets and snuggles. We think they were not allowed on furniture, but we tend to pick them up and snuggle them on the couch often, and they both enjoy it. There is a crate for them that stays open at night, and they will share the crate or sleep on their beds in the family room. They have the run of the kitchen and family room and use the doggy door to go outside. They get along well with their foster sisters and brother and love running in the field with them. The cat stays away from them, but because they have a healthy prey drive, a home with no cats would be best. Could you be Daisy and Wiggles’ perfect forever family?
