Hi my name is Nico I came to MN 3 years ago from a puppy mill in Texas. I am now looking for a home to call my own as my current family has had some medical issues and no longer can care for me. I am loving life in Minnesota and looking forward to meeting my potential new family. Nico is estimated to be 3 years old and 55lbs. and have had a vet examination and is up to date on all vaccinations. Nico is a a very big baby and loves to be as close as possible to you, he also loves playing in his big dog bed with his toys. Nico is good living with other dogs at home, however struggles with anxiety in public when sees other dogs, he is on a daily dose of Prozac to help with the anxiety need gone asap as dad had a stroke and has terminal cancer and is to weak to be around him. Story
Kady is ready to find her forever home filled with love, cuddles, and fun. With a gentle, curious nature, this little one brings joy wherever they go. They love human attention and thrive on companionship—learning new things or curling up for a cozy nap nearby. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate puppy to grow up with and make memories alongside, this little one may be the perfect match. Kady is estimated to be 3 months old and 10 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. If you are interested in meeting this dog please complete the adoption application on our website at https://safehandsrescue.org/adoption-process/ and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting. We are also holding the following upcoming adoption events! Please note: All dogs/puppies will not be at every event, and some may find their home prior to the event. If you are interested in a specific animal, please check our Facebook page for confirmed attendance the morning of the event: https://www.facebook.com/safehandsrescue/ You do not need to have a Facebook account to check the Safe Hands Facebook page for attendance. Story
Meet Diamond! Diamond is a 1-year-old, 22-pound gem with a fun-loving spirit and a heart full of affection. This gorgeous mixed-breed girl looks like she may have a little beagle and terrier in her, and her sweet personality is just as lovely as her pretty face. Diamond is a playful, high-energy girl who loves to stay busy—especially if it involves running around, digging, and playing with other dogs. She does fantastic in our free-roam pack and gets along wonderfully with all the dogs, making her a great fit for a home with canine friends. She also adores people and will happily shower her favorite humans with cuddles, kisses, and tail wags. She’s especially comfortable with women and kids and has done great with them, though she can be a little unsure around men at first and may need a gentle, patient introduction. Diamond did amazing in her temporary foster home and showed what a well-mannered house pup she can be—she had no accidents indoors and slept great in her crate overnight. She’s a smart, happy girl who thrives with attention, playtime, and love. One more adorable quirk: Diamond thinks the outside is the best place for everything. Shoes, blankets, toys, cushions—you name it, she’ll proudly try to relocate it outdoors like it’s her personal mission. It’s part of her goofy charm and will definitely keep you laughing. Diamond is ready to sparkle in her forever family’s life. If you’re looking for a joyful, affectionate, playful companion, Diamond may be your perfect match.

Story
Hi, my name is DeeDee. I am from Alabama. DeeDee is blossoming more each day now that she’s had time to settle in. She can be a little shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, her sweet personality shines through. She loves to follow her people around, curl up near your feet, and soak up all the pets she can get. This lovely girl is potty trained and crate trained, and she sleeps soundly in her crate at night. DeeDee enjoys spending time outdoors in a fenced area and is comfortable with just a few steps down from the house—she’s still building confidence with full flights of stairs, and her future family can help her continue that journey at her own pace. Quiet, gentle, and incredibly easy to have around, DeeDee is the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart before you even realize it’s happened. She is a beautiful soul who is so deserving of a loving home and a wonderful second chance. From the Vet: DeeDee was staged for heartworm treatment at her initial vet exam while in rescue. During that exam we found a few additional medical conditions that her future home should consider to make sure she is living her best life! She has fairly advanced arthritis in her back and some in her knees. She may need joint supportive supplements and or possibly pain meds as she ages. Her heartworm disease is considered stage 2; Everything appeared normal on chest radiographs and blood work showed no sign of active heart disease. She does have a grade 2/6 heart murmur. TBB will not pursue further cardiology work up at this time, but this should be monitored in the future after heartworm treatment. I am currently being treated for heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious so your resident pets are not at risk! The treatment for this is 3-4 months long and requires a minimum of 3 appointments and strict rest/restricted activity. My adoption can take place during treatment, while TBB manages the financial responsibility of my heartworm treatment at The Bond Between Vet Center. Any other medical care needed outside of the specific care covered in the contract disclaimer, would be the responsibility of my new family. TBB will also agree to cover DeeDee's Spay and Dental surgery that should be scheduled 30-40 days after heartworm treatment along with 1 round of medications and 1 recheck appointment as determined necessary by The Bond Between medical team.

Story
Rollie was surrendered after his owner died. He had never lived inside until he came into rescue. He is now house and crate trained. He does love to run and play and hide his bones outside. He had very little socialization with other dogs and is a little dog selective (prefers females more than males). He's more of a loner than most. He has always been crated inside to avoid the mischief a beagle tends to get into with chewing items he isn't supposed to be chewing. It is more for his safety of not swallowing anything harmful. He will bark to let you know when he needs to go potty. He has been completely vetted. He deserves a home of his own to retire in and enjoy the rest of his life. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please email us for the link to the adoption application.
