Hi, my name is Otis, and I recently traveled here all the way from Alabama to find my forever home. I am about 2 years and only weigh 25 pounds. My foster mom tells me I am the sweetest boy because I like to snuggle and be close to her whenever I can. Besides snuggling, I love being outside, chasing squirrels and playing tug of war with my fur sister. Oh... and I love getting belly rubs! When my foster parents go out, I don't mind staying in my kennel and will sleep in there at night too. But because I am such a good sleeper, I get to sleep with my foster parents. I am a very spunky, happy pup and get along great with other dogs. Although it would be nice to have a fur brother or sister to play with, I would also be ok with being your one and only and getting all the love and attention. My foster mom says that I am a very good boy, and I am going to be a great addition to any family. Just like my Marvel/X-Men namesake, I've overcome my past and now look forward to a brilliantly bright future. My journey started in a rather somber place - a lonely field next to a gas station. Thankfully, kind souls would drop by, leaving me food and their hopes for a better life. One day, a persistent and resourceful lady decided to play her "pawn" and orchestrated my escape from that grim existence. Since then, I've been living with her and her doggy (and human) family. But now, I'm eagerly searching for my own forever family. Let's talk quirks. I'm a cheerful guy, but I've got some personal space boundaries. I'm protective of my face, so a home with adults or older, dog-savvy kids is my ideal match. I'm also a bit of a goofball and adore the company of other dogs. Now, I might not instantly become your best buddy; I take time to trust and get comfortable in my surroundings. But trust me, the patience will be worth it. I'm brimming with love and loyalty, just waiting for the right family to share it with. Here's the good news - I'm house and crate trained, proving that, yes, young dogs can indeed learn new tricks. Oh, and there's more - I'm pretty chill around cats, though a gentle introduction is wise. And I've been curious and respectful around a human baby, so that's a plus. One thing to note, though, is that I've had some reservations around men. Despite two years together, I haven't quite warmed up to my human's fianc and have snapped at him a few times. So, it might be best if I find a home without men. During a short stay with Kathy, I was a little shy but kept to myself. Callan is social, outgoing, confident, adventurous, playful, all the positive characteristics you could possibly want in a puppy! He's also the most advanced one of his siblings in terms of potty training - he goes on potty pads 100% of the time when indoors and immediately potties outdoors whenever his foster mom takes him out. He LOVES playing with his siblings, the resident cats, people, anyone he meets. When he's given the run of the house, he chooses to sleep right next to his foster mom - he's a total mama's boy! Callan also did a great job being calm while getting his nails clipped today. He's a special one and he can't wait to meet his forever family. Callan's mom is Callie, who is 23lbs and very confident, social, and playful. Callan definitely came by his amazing personality honestly! Given his current weight, Callan will likely be around his mom's size when he grows up, give or take 5-10lbs. Callan is estimated to be 9 weeks old and 9 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. This precious boy was picked up on the side of I-75. A sweet lady was doing 70 mph in the right lane when she spotted what looked like a dog with a red harness in the ditch. She quickly pulled over and carefully backed up. He initially dashed away from her, but then she was able to get him to her car. We have no idea where he came from. We searched social media for a couple of weeks in case somebody had had an accident and lost him but no luck. We call him Freeway, but his foster mom and hero calls him Dash. He is just a really good boy, loving people, other dogs, and is respectful of the mean kitty. He is house trained and loves to snuggle. He has definitely been through some sort of ordeal and we would love to get him in a quiet, safe home where he can be cherished. The vets think he’s about three years old. We will be getting him a dental when he gets neutered in the next week or so and then he will be ready for his new home. He is up-to-date on his vaccines and his heartworm tested negative. He’s a great size at 18 pounds. Dash would make a really wonderful companion for anyone. We think older children would be best for him.
