Story
Rowdy is a little shy with new people. Shes great with all dogs she meets and would be best on a home with another dog to help her adjust. Rowdy is curious in new situations, but life up until recently, hasnt been kind to her..... so she will need time to get comfortable and then her true goofy nature will emerge! Like a butterfly, Rowdy is a much different pup than when she 1st came to us from the pound, with no hope of getting out :( UNTIL the rescue chick saw me and knew i was a diamond in the RUFF ;) Rowdy needs a patient home who will give her time to warm up, open up & trust. Older kids only would be best for her and a fully fenced yard is a must. Until she settles in she'll be an escape risk. An apartment would work for Rowdy as well. She is ready for her furever family!! Apply soon! Local adoption fee is $300(in TX)

Story
Plum is a 2-year-old Beagle/Pug/Terrier mix. She is a bright, affectionate dog with lots of personality and silliness. At just 40 pounds, she's the ultimate cuddlebug size who has a love affair with blankets. If you hold one open, she'll burrow right underneath for cozy snuggles! It's absolutely adorable and will provide hours of giggles!Plum bonds deeply to her humans and truly enjoys learning what you want from her. She is a pup that wants to please. She's house-trained, crate-trained for bedtime, and incredibly smart. She does not need to be crated during the day. Honestly, she could be the valedictorian of any obedience school! Plum was found wandering lost and was very scared and stressed at the municipal animal control. We believe this experience left a mark on her, so she needs a calmer, quieter environment. She'll be happiest in a detached home where she can enjoy a peaceful, more predictable environment without close neighboring walls. Suburb or country life with less outside noise than a busy city environment is for this gal!Plum loves training and playtime, but she's outgrown that nonstop puppy energy and is best described as a medium-energy dog. She enjoys having opportunities to learn, explore, and interact with her people, then settling in for some cozy downtime. These days, she'd much rather have something satisfying to chew on than chase a ball.Plum is looking for a very special forever home where she can shine and be her best self. She needs to be the only pet, so no cats or other dogs. Because she's an enthusiastic, physical dog who expresses both her playfulness and affection with her whole body, she'd also do best in a home without small children. Plum is looking for the right person or family to love and support her, provide structure, and offer a peaceful, predictable environment. Plum will blossom into an amazing lifelong family member and companion. We just LOVE Plum!If you are interested in Plum, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

Story
Zena is a friendly, affectionate, high-energy girl who is always ready for a little fun and adventure. She absolutely loves to run and play, but once the excitement is over, she’s just as happy to settle in beside her people for some serious snuggle time. Zena would thrive with an active family or person who can give her plenty of exercise, consistency, training, and appropriate outlets for her energy. She’s an enthusiastic girl with lots of love to give, and having a routine and opportunities to stay busy will help her thrive. Zena is good with kids and enjoys spending time with other dogs, although she can occasionally get a little jealous when she has to share her people. She’s very loving and wants to be close to the people she trusts. One important thing her future family needs to know is that Zena can jump fences and loves to run. Historically, when she has gotten out, she has returned home, but that is still a risk that her new family will need to prepare for, especially while she is settling into a new environment. A secure setup and careful management will be important to help keep this adventurous girl safe. Zena is the kind of dog who would love an active lifestyle filled with walks, playtime, and adventures, but she doesn’t need to be “on” all the time. Give her the chance to burn off her energy, and she’ll happily become your snuggly couch companion afterward ---- Zena is from Texas.

Story
Buddy is a young Beagle/Jack Russell Terrier mix puppy with floppy ears, bright eyes, and enough enthusiasm to power a small city! This happy-go-lucky boy loves everyone he meets and is always ready for an adventure, whether it's a long walk, a game of tug, or a romp with his dog friends. Buddy is doing great with potty training and has had no accidents in his foster home. Like any puppy, he's still learning his manners and will need continued training, especially on leash walking. He can be vocal when excited and is a world-class chewer, so plenty of toys and bones are a must! This social butterfly would love an active family that can keep up with his playful energy. He'd enjoy having another playful dog in the home but would also be happy as your one-and-only adventure buddy. Older children would be best, as his excitement can sometimes lead to accidental bumps and scratches during play. Buddy is smart, affectionate, and full of potential. If you're looking for a fun-loving companion who will keep you smiling and make every day a little more exciting, Buddy may be the one for you! Buddy is from Texas. ---- *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.*

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Pawpaw is a gentle senior Beagle who is currently undergoing Heartworm treatment. He would love a quiet, peaceful home to rest in. Heartworm is not transmittable and requires little extra attention, aside from rest! He is very attached to his people and would love a home with someone who works from home, is retired, or is home during the day. He does great with other dogs and cats. He also loves walks and car rides. He is potty trained, leash trained, and crate trained - though he can be vocal in his crate. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Shimmer is a fun-loving, affectionate girl who is always ready for some playtime! She absolutely loves her toys and can happily keep herself entertained, but her favorite thing is being around her people. She’s incredibly sweet and affectionate and loves humans of all ages. Shimmer also does great with other dogs and loves having furry friends to play with. She would really love to have another dog in the home. Whether she’s chasing a toy, making new friends, or soaking up some love from her humans, Shimmer is happiest when she’s included in the fun. Like all puppies, she will need support with housetraining, learning to walk on a leash, and crate training. She is very friendly and would settle in nicely into most any home, so long as her family has the patience to help her grow into her best self! If you’re looking for a playful, loving pup who will bring lots of joy into your home, Shimmer might just be your girl! Shimmer is from Texas.
