Rowdy is a little shy with new people. Shes great with all dogs she meets and would be best on a home with another dog to help her adjust. Rowdy is curious in new situations, but life up until recently, hasnt been kind to her..... so she will need time to get comfortable and then her true goofy nature will emerge! Like a butterfly, Rowdy is a much different pup than when she 1st came to us from the pound, with no hope of getting out :( UNTIL the rescue chick saw me and knew i was a diamond in the RUFF ;) Rowdy needs a patient home who will give her time to warm up, open up & trust. Older kids only would be best for her and a fully fenced yard is a must. Until she settles in she'll be an escape risk. An apartment would work for Rowdy as well. She is ready for her furever family!! Apply soon! Local adoption only $200, in TX

Say hello to Calvin! Mr. Calvin here might be the Calvin to your Hobbes, he's so sweet! Calvin was given up by his finder to our rescue recently but he's in good hands. He instantly warmed up and got along with everyone here as soon as we got him. Calvin is a Beagle mix, he's a bit of a bigger boy with his stubby legs- kind of like a super solid beagle but isn't short. Calvin loves getting attention, he'll bump you with his head so you notice and pay attention to him! He'll need a bit of leash work but is very eager to get to work! That is what people notice most about Calvin, is his eagerness. He will need slow introductions to other people and animals as he can warm up to others slowly sometimes. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    If you’re looking for a best friend who can keep up with every adventure and then happily snuggle beside you at the end of the day, Puggles just might be your perfect match. She is the kind of dog who makes you seriously consider becoming a foster fail—and for good reason. She’s incredibly smart, wonderfully friendly, and simply a joy to have around. Puggles truly loves people. Spotting a new friend is enough to make her entire body wiggle with excitement! She has excellent manners out in public and has become a favorite everywhere she goes, whether it’s dog-friendly breweries, restaurants, parks, or neighborhood walks. She’s also wonderful with children and happily greets friendly dogs of every size with a wagging tail and a playful spirit. She’s currently living with two large dogs and a cat and fits right in with the family. While she absolutely enjoys having canine friends to play with, she doesn’t require another dog in her forever home as long as she has people who include her in their lives. One of Puggles’ happiest places is outside. She loves to run, explore, and play, and she would absolutely thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard where she can stretch her legs every day. She’s athletic, eager to learn, and so smart that agility or other fun training activities would be right up her alley. Her foster family also discovered an important little quirk that helped everything click—Puggles simply doesn’t like to potty while attached to a leash. Once given the freedom of a secure fenced area, she happily takes care of business. Because of this, she is now considered potty trained and is looking for a home with a securely fenced yard where she can comfortably maintain her routine. She has started urinating on leash but still prefers to do her business off leash in a safely enclosed area. When the adventures are over, Puggles transforms into the sweetest cuddle bug. She loves curling up on the couch for movie nights, soaking up affection, and being close to her people. She also has a playful side at home and is always happy to entertain herself with sticks, chew toys, and anything appropriate to satisfy her love of chewing. Puggles is the complete package: affectionate, social, intelligent, playful, and endlessly adaptable. She’s the kind of dog you can confidently take almost anywhere, knowing she’ll charm everyone she meets. All she needs is a family with a securely fenced yard, plenty of love, and room for one incredibly special little girl. Whoever welcomes Puggles home won’t just be adopting a dog—they’ll be gaining an adventure buddy, cuddle companion, and loyal best friend.   Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  Bulldogs, pugs, and Boston terriers, Brussels Griffons, Pekingese and others are a member of the Brachycephalic breed and therefore have a host of health issues that may arise.  Because these dogs are new into our rescue, health issues in the future may arise that we are not aware of.  Some of these issues are allergies, eye issues, yeast infections, interdigital cysts, slipped disks in their back, breathing problems, among a host of others that can occur at any time or when seasons change. While breed experience is not required, we encourage you to thoroughly research the breed and its financial, medical, and environmental needs to be sure this breed is a good fit for you and your family.  It is estimated that the average brachycephalic breed owner spends $2,000 per year on medical needs. In addition to other surgeries, this dog may have had surgery on their nares and soft palate to improve the quality of their breathing.  This will be partially reflected within her adoption fee. These breeds are one of the most expensive dogs to own, maintain, and rescue and our adoption fees reflect such expenses.  The application process for these breeds usually moves quite quickly as they are a popular breed, so we ask that adopters do research and be prepared for adoption at the time you submit your application.  They are happy, goofy, playful characters and we are excited you are taking the first steps into rescuing one!   This dog requires a separate application and an application fee.  This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. This dog requires a Bulldog Application.  All applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the bulldog. Our goal is place bulldogs in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the bulldog, we will not approve your application. To learn more, visit  https://underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/bulldogs/ to fill out the Bulldog application. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs. Story
🐾 Meet Luna! 🐾 Luna is a 5-month-old Beagle mix with a sweet personality, an adorable face, and a nose that's always ready for her next adventure! She currently weighs about 20–25 pounds and is expected to stay a nice medium size when she's fully grown. One of Luna's biggest accomplishments is that she's already house-trained using the bell system! She'll ring the bell to let you know when she needs to go outside—a pretty impressive skill for such a young pup. Luna came to us as an owner surrender because she wasn't getting along well with the older dogs in her home. At her age, it's difficult to know whether she was trying to encourage them to play, testing boundaries like many adolescent puppies do, or simply overwhelming dogs that weren't interested in her puppy energy. What we do know is that Luna is still very much a puppy and will benefit from continued training, structure, and appropriate introductions to other dogs. She would thrive with an active family that has the time and patience to continue teaching her good manners, provide plenty of exercise, and help her grow into the wonderful adult dog she's destined to be. Whether she's exploring the backyard, going for walks, or curling up after a busy day, Luna is ready to become someone's loyal best friend. If you're looking for a smart, affectionate young companion who's already off to a great start with house training, Luna may be the perfect addition to your family! She is getting spayed on June 17th and will be ready for her new family shortly after! She is currently being fostered in Mississippi but included in your adoption fee is transport to a location near you by Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal friendly transport on the road! Please message us if you are interested in adopting this little girl and we will send you an adoption application!

Story
Rollie was surrendered after his owner died. He had never lived inside until he came into rescue. He is now house and crate trained. He does love to run and play and hide his bones outside. He had very little socialization with other dogs and is a little dog selective (prefers females more than males). He's more of a loner than most. He has always been crated inside to avoid the mischief a beagle tends to get into with chewing items he isn't supposed to be chewing. It is more for his safety of not swallowing anything harmful. He will bark to let you know when he needs to go potty. He has been completely vetted. He deserves a home of his own to retire in and enjoy the rest of his life. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please email us for the link to the adoption application.

Story
At approximately 5 months old and 24 pounds, she's a happy, playful pup who's ready to find a family of her own. She got spayed on June 19th and is thriving in her foster home, where she gets along wonderfully with the other dogs. Her submissive personality makes her an easy companion, and she's happy to let the other pups take the lead. Like any puppy, she's still learning the ropes! She'll need a family committed to continuing her training, especially with basic manners and house training. With consistency, patience, and plenty of praise, she's sure to blossom into an amazing lifelong companion. She's eager to please and at the perfect age to learn. Whether she's playing in the yard, making new canine friends, or relaxing by your side after a fun day, this sweetheart is happiest just being part of the family. If you're looking for a loving, gentle puppy who's ready to grow up with you, this beautiful girl can't wait to meet you.
