Update: Meet Malia, a beautiful Beagle mix who has grown up at Helping Paws after arriving as a tiny puppy just a few weeks old. Having spent her whole life at the shelter, Malia has formed a special bond with a staff member, showing just how loyal and loving she can be once she trusts you. She’s a quick learner who enjoys mental challenges like puzzle toys and is always eager to pick up a new skill. She walks beautifully on a leash (most of the time) and absolutely loves her daily walks, but like many dogs who have grown up in a shelter, she’ll need a little help with potty training once she’s in a home environment.Though Malia can be a bit wary of strangers at first, her cautiousness comes from her desire to protect her people. That said, she wouldn’t hurt a fly she just needs a moment to assess new situations and feel safe.
