Bea has happily traded life with a backyard breeder in Mississippi for something she’s quickly learning to love: the couch life! This sweet girl is all about her people. She’s loving, affectionate, and happiest when she can be close to you. Bea loves meeting new people and isn’t shy about letting everyone know she’s a Beagle with her adorable bay! She also loves getting outside to sniff and explore. So far, toys and chews haven’t really caught her attention—but she has plenty of time to discover what makes her happy. She’s still getting comfortable with neighborhood walks and can be a little unsure when meeting new dogs, so she’ll need some patience and encouragement as she continues to gain confidence. Siren is a calm, gentle, quiet girl who joined us from rural Kentucky. It appeared she had had very little human interaction when joining BAARK last year, but with time and patience, she has come out of her shell and has become a little more confident….but does have a ways to go. Siren is definitely a Mix Breed, possibly a Beagle-Heeler, with other breeds sprinkled in! She’s an estimated 32 lbs. born in January of 2021. This sweet girl enjoys the company of other dogs in her foster home, but prefers calm dogs. She can become startled by loud noises and quick movement but as her confident continues to grow, such things will likely not bother her. Siren is most likely to thrive in a quieter household consisting of adults. But older children, respectful of animals, would be good for Siren as well. She’d really enjoy the companionship of a calm, possibly older dog too. A secure fenced yard is also a plus. Siren is up to date on her vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, spayed and microchipped. She is believed to be housebroken as well. Sprout is an adorable purebred Beagle, who had spent the first year of his life in a cage at a Beagle Breeding & Testing Facility. He knew nothing but being used and abused by humans, no kindness, no gentle touch, and certainly no playing or running free with friends. Sprout joined BAARK in June of this year, fearful and confused, knowing nothing other than life in a cage, except when taken out for “use.” Fast forward to today and Sprout has made so much progress that one would never realize he came from a Beagle Breeding/Testing House of Horror. He is friendly and even cuddly unlike a couple of his friends who suffered the same horrors and much more physical torment at the facility. He is of course wonderful with other Beagles (but can get the entire pack into trouble at times!) and seeks out the company of people who are kind and compassionate toward him. These days, Sprout enjoys playing with toys, chewing bones, and running and cuddling with other Beagle friends. However, he also enjoys chewing plenty of things that he should not! Given his past life of living in a cage, he has had to learn how to live in a home and how to be a companion animal. To distract Sprout from getting into things and chewing things he should not, he enjoys plenty of toys, chew bones, and more toys to keep him busy and interested!! Sprout has been doing very well with housebreaking. He needs to work on feeling comfortable walking on a leash as well as riding in the car. But he is eager to learn and eager to please. Given his past, Sprout has not been forced to be in a crate in his foster home. For Sprout, potential adopters MUST…. - Have a history of experience as a pet parent to Beagles - Have at least one Beagle friend currently in the home - Live in a single family home. Sprout, like most all Beagles, enjoys spending time barking - Have a secure fenced yard (definitely no invisible fences) - Spend a minimal amount of time away from home (i.e. not work the typical 8 – 10 hour day), although Sprout has been good home alone (un-crated) in his foster home. - Remember that Sprout is a young Beagle, and very active, curious, and at times mischievous! - Live within 30 miles of Barrington IL. The above are minimal requirements with no exceptions, please. In addition, as for all of our dogs, we require a solid vet history for all current and past dogs. Sprout is fully vetted, is up to date on vaccinations, heart worm negative and on year-round heart worm prevention, is neutered and microchipped. Sprout’s estimated date of birth is 06-16-2025. He currently weighs approximately 22 lbs. Meet Lilly!Lilly is believed to be a Beagle-Basset Mix, about 12 years old, a real sweetie!Although a bit older, Lilly is active and quite playful with other dogs in her foster home; she really enjoys the company of other dogs, big and small. She also likes being with people and meeting new friends whenever possible. We are told she is also great with cats!Lilly’s favorite activities include hanging outside with her dog friends, running and playing with them as well as of course, taking time to sniff any new smells in the yard. She also enjoy eating and is a very fast eater. She needs to slow down, eating from a slow feeder When joining BAARK, she was quite overweight, at around 55 lbs. However in her foster home, she is active and quite playful, and, is on a weight-management diet. So, she is trimming down and getting into tip-top shape. That said, Lilly does have hypothyroidism and is on an inexpensive thyroid medication 2x daily. She also has a few benign fatty deposits which add to her appearance of looking chunky.Lilly is fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, spayed and microchipped.
