Story
Mr. Apollo here is an active and smart boy. He enjoys solving his doggie puzzles, having lick mats, laying in the sun, and playing with his toys. He is a very good boy in the car and enjoys walks. He is house trained and knows sit, stay, lay down, spin, and free. Apollo was adopted from a shelter while he was heart worm positive. After many hard months of restricted activity, vet visits, and lots of sleep - he has been heartworm negative for almost a year and a half! He is currently prescribed to Simparica Trio - his remaining 5 month supply will be included with him. Something to keep in mind is he does bark when meeting new people and takes a few minutes to warm up to new people. He is a very sweet boy but needs time to bark and get to know guests. A new home for Apollo would be best with another dog (preferably smaller than him) since he loves playing. He is very sweet and gentle to young children. He also prefers nuzzling into a folded blanket (over a bed) so he can nest.

Bea has happily traded life with a backyard breeder in Mississippi for something she’s quickly learning to love: the couch life!  This sweet girl is all about her people. She’s loving, affectionate, and happiest when she can be close to you. Bea loves meeting new people and isn’t shy about letting everyone know she’s a Beagle with her adorable bay! She also loves getting outside to sniff and explore. So far, toys and chews haven’t really caught her attention—but she has plenty of time to discover what makes her happy. She’s still getting comfortable with neighborhood walks and can be a little unsure when meeting new dogs, so she’ll need some patience and encouragement as she continues to gain confidence. Bogart is a handsome 3-year-old Beagle who is still settling into his foster home. His foster family is getting to know him more every day, and we’ll continue to update his bio as his personality comes out! So far, Bogart has shown us that he loves walks, attention, pets, and snuggling. One of his favorite places to be is belly-up on a lap, soaking up all the attention he can get. Bogart is potty trained and has been doing very well with his house manners. When he first arrived, he tried to mark several times during his first couple of hours in the house, but since then he has had no accidents. He will even scratch at the door when he wants to go outside. He is working on his leash manners and currently pulls when he's excited about getting out for a walk. He's also not a big fan of his crate and would much rather be hanging out with his people. And yes, Bogart comes with the classic Beagle bark! He can be quite the little watchdog and isn't afraid to let you know when something interesting is happening. One very important thing his future family will need to know is that Bogart is a flight risk. If a door or gate is open, he is determined to see what's on the other side! His family will need to be extremely careful around open doors, gates, and other potential escape routes. When he's outside in a fenced yard, Bogart can also be stubborn about coming back inside if it's not his idea. He doesn't currently come reliably when called and may flop over belly-up when his foster family tries to grab his harness or collar to bring him inside. Continued positive training and patience will be important. Bogart also sheds, so his future family should be prepared for some classic Beagle hair around the house. There's still plenty more to discover about this handsome guy as he settles in, but we're already seeing a sweet dog who loves his people, enjoys affection, and has plenty of personality. Siren is a calm, gentle, quiet girl who joined us from rural Kentucky. It appeared she had had very little human interaction when joining BAARK last year, but with time and patience, she has come out of her shell and has become a little more confident….but does have a ways to go. Siren is definitely a Mix Breed, possibly a Beagle-Heeler, with other breeds sprinkled in! She’s an estimated 32 lbs. born in January of 2021. This sweet girl enjoys the company of other dogs in her foster home, but prefers calm dogs. She can become startled by loud noises and quick movement but as her confident continues to grow, such things will likely not bother her. Siren is most likely to thrive in a quieter household consisting of adults. But older children, respectful of animals, would be good for Siren as well. She’d really enjoy the companionship of a calm, possibly older dog too. A secure fenced yard is also a plus. Siren is up to date on her vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, spayed and microchipped. She is believed to be housebroken as well. Meet Lilly!Lilly is believed to be a Beagle-Basset Mix, about 12 years old, a real sweetie!Although a bit older, Lilly is active and quite playful with other dogs in her foster home; she really enjoys the company of other dogs, big and small. She also likes being with people and meeting new friends whenever possible. We are told she is also great with cats!Lilly’s favorite activities include hanging outside with her dog friends, running and playing with them as well as of course, taking time to sniff any new smells in the yard. She also enjoy eating and is a very fast eater. She needs to slow down, eating from a slow feeder When joining BAARK, she was quite overweight, at around 55 lbs. However in her foster home, she is active and quite playful, and, is on a weight-management diet. So, she is trimming down and getting into tip-top shape. That said, Lilly does have hypothyroidism and is on an inexpensive thyroid medication 2x daily. She also has a few benign fatty deposits which add to her appearance of looking chunky.Lilly is fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on year-round heartworm prevention, spayed and microchipped.
