Story
Shut the front door—meet Ellie! This stunning girl is elegance, brains, and heart all wrapped into one gorgeous 1-year-old Border. Ellie is about 30 lbs (could use ~5 more) and absolutely shines in an active home that can keep up with her quick mind and happy feet.   Ellie’s play style is fast and her energy is high, making her an ideal match for an outdoorsy family or an individual looking for a running or hiking buddy. She’s clever (counter-surfers beware ), eager to learn, and would be a fantastic agility prospect with the right guidance and enrichment.   She’s house trained, good with other dogs and cats, and uses her crate by choice—it’s there for her comfort, not confinement. Ellie would thrive with a large yard or acreage where she can stretch her legs and put her smarts to work.   If you’re ready for a loyal, athletic companion who just needs the right energy match, Ellie might be your girl.   More info: 949-456-7032 or 949-842-2517 Apply to adopt: www.greendogfoundation.com Email: greendogfoundation@gmail.com   Physical Qualities   Age: 1 year Weight: ~30 lbs (could gain ~5 lbs) Breed: Border Collie  Coat/Color: Black & white Temperament: Smart, energetic, affectionate Training: House trained; crate trained Compatibility: Dogs &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Cats &#226&#156&#148&#239&#184&#143 Ideal Home: Active lifestyle, enrichment-focused, yard or acreage    February 11, 2026, 3:01 pm

Story
We have had Ghost (formerly known on social media as Juniper, then Frost) out of the vet a couple of weeks now, and he is ready to start his search for his forever people! We believe that he is a border collie mix. DNA has been sent to Wisdom Panel because we are so curious! This is what we know so far! • Approx 2–3 years old, 24 • Confident, outgoing, and very people-oriented • Sweet, affectionate, and glued to his foster right away • Appears to be potty trained • Knows sit and is very receptive to training • Engages easily and wants to work — likely would enjoy sports such as agility, disc, or scent work • Loves frisbee, tug, and is already learning to bring toys back • Super high energy …wants to play all the time- with you and with toys • So far, pretty quiet (fingers crossed) With Other Dogs: Ghost is friendly and social but initially over-excited, which isn’t surprising after being kenneled for over a month at the shelter and vet. • Takes corrections well • No aggression noted • Not reactive in his crate when dogs pass by • Previously kenneled with other dogs at the shelter • Needs time to settle (but let’s be honest, he was in the shelter and then at the vet… he is still decompressing) Ghost is freshly neutered, microchipped, has all shots Interested parties, please email stacy@k9spirit.org Application is on our website www.k9spirit.org or Stacy can email it to you. Adoption process: Application, contact if a good fit on paper, phone interview, home safety check and meet and greet.

Story
If you’re looking for a full-time trail buddy and loyal best friend, this might be your guy. My wife and I are currently fostering a fun-loving 5-month-old Border Collie/Husky mix. He was on his way to a shelter just a few days ago, and we couldn’t let that happen. We brought him home to give him a chance at finding an amazing family. We both travel weekly for work, so coordinating schedules can be a bit of a juggling act, but we’ve made the next few weeks work to give him stability and time to find the right fit. In just a couple of days, here’s what we’ve learned about him: About 50/50 on potty training (and improving!) Sleeps quietly through the night in his kennel without a peep Walks well on a leash Rarely barks Friendly with people and other dogs Chews only on his toys (and occasionally on me during playtime) Already knows a couple of basic commands He’s sweet, smart, playful, and has that perfect mix of adventure and affection.

Story
This is Oreo! He’s a border collie mix. He is almost 2 years old. He loves adventures, walks, water and to cuddle! He’s a little scared and wary when meeting new people but warms up if you come with treats! He had been raised with a cat who is his best buddy! We can no longer keep him because our older dog does not get along with him and we can’t rehome our older dog. He would be an amazing addition to any family! Willing to pay for neuter and updated shots as well ! To the right family I will also waive the fee !

Story
Brewski’s previous owner was hospitalized and could no longer care for this sweet guy so AALOC took him in. This young Border Collie mix is very playful and loving and gets along great with other dogs. Brewski is a medium-size dog, weighing in at about 45 pounds. According to the American Kennel Club the Border Collie are amazing dogs. They are particularly energetic, athletic, and playful and are known for being workaholics. Although a Border Collie will enjoy cuddle time, it is only after they have spent their energy with walks, play and training. In the canine world, Border Collies are among the most agile, balanced, and durable breeds. They are usually very good at agility training and giving a Border Collie a job is important to their happiness. Border Collies are also known for their intense ‘herding eye’ gaze and their almond-shaped eyes. Please apply to adopt Brewski at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Brewski and get to know him a bit. Adoption donation includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit. We adopt to residents of Orange County, CA and surrounding areas. Please note: For families with children, we require children to be 10 years of age or older, although exceptions are made depending on the circumstances. For more information on our adoption policies visit our website at www.AALOC.org or contact us by e-mail at aaloc@aaloc.org.
