Story
Brewski’s previous owner was hospitalized and could no longer care for this sweet guy so AALOC took him in. This young Border Collie mix is very playful and loving and gets along great with other dogs. Brewski is a medium-size dog, weighing in at about 45 pounds. According to the American Kennel Club the Border Collie are amazing dogs. They are particularly energetic, athletic, and playful and are known for being workaholics. Although a Border Collie will enjoy cuddle time, it is only after they have spent their energy with walks, play and training. In the canine world, Border Collies are among the most agile, balanced, and durable breeds. They are usually very good at agility training and giving a Border Collie a job is important to their happiness. Border Collies are also known for their intense ‘herding eye’ gaze and their almond-shaped eyes. Please apply to adopt Brewski at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Brewski and get to know him a bit. Donation of $165 for dog adoption includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit (in Orange County, CA). For more information on adoption policies visit our dog adoption page at www.aaloc.org. Contact us by e-mail at aaloc@aaloc.org or by phone (714) 893-4393.

Story
Stella is a sweet, intelligent, and energetic companion with so much love to give! At around 8 years old, she’s still full of life and always ready for adventure. She’s incredibly smart, easily trained, and knows basic commands. Stella thrives on having space to run—ideally a big backyard or property. She’s an excellent guard dog and does well with children, but she would be happiest as the only pet in the home. Her original owner advised that she would be best as an only child. She now has 3 brothers (1 dog & 2 cats), and I understand why he said that—she definitely prefers being the center of attention without other animals around. I adopted Stella when she was about 3, but as life has changed, I can no longer give her the time and activity she truly deserves. She’s looking for a home where she can be loved, exercised, and given the space to shine as the incredible dog she is!

Story
PJ is a 7-month-old Border Collie mix with a big heart and a lot of playful energy. Weighing in at about 29 pounds, he’s the perfect size for an active, outdoorsy family or individual looking for a loyal companion.PJ thrives around other active dogs, making him an excellent playmate for a high-energy canine buddy. However, due to his enthusiasm and puppy-like zest for life, we recommend a home without cats or small children as he’s still learning his manners. He’s already neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations, so he’s all set to transition into his forever home. PJ is currently in a very temporary foster situation, and we’re urgently seeking a family who can provide the structure, training, and love he needs to become his best self.If you’re ready to give this bright, lovable pup a place to call home, PJ is ready to meet you!Could PJ be the missing piece of your family? &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143February 21, 2025, 1:12 pm

Story
At 5 years old and 60 lbs, Norman has faced more challenges than most dogs ever will, but his spirit is unbreakable. As a puppy, Norman was passed from place to place, facing tough situations that left him with some conflicts with other dogs. But that’s all in the past now! Since joining The Little Red Dog, Norman has truly shown what an affectionate, fun-loving companion he can be. He’s a people-lover (with a little patience to warm up), and while he prefers being the only dog in a home, he’s calm and collected on walks around other pups.Norman loves to run and play, then curl up in a cozy bed for a well-deserved nap. Oh, and did we mention his adorable head tilt? It’s his signature look, caused by a past ear surgery, but it only adds to his charm! Norman deserves a home where he can finally have the love and stability he’s always craved. Could you be the one to give him that?April 21, 2025, 5:54 am

Story
Zoe is a tricolored Mini Australian Shepherd turning 9 on April 20. She’s affectionate, active, and loves cuddles. Zoe is house-trained, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and in excellent health with recent bloodwork. She’s had consistent vet care, grooming, dental cleanings, and is on monthly flea/heartworm prevention. She does best as the only pet in a home with no cats/dogs but might be fine with another dog if they get along. She’s best in a home with older children, teens and/or adults only. Due to her herding instincts, dog parks are challenging —she’s not aggressive, but her behavior can be misread by other dogs. Zoe needs daily exercise and to be around her owner most of the day, not alone. We’re sadly rehoming Zoe because her energy and herding instincts aren’t the best match for our toddler’s sensitive personality or home environment. We aren’t able to give her the attention and exercise she needs. She’d do wonderfully in an active home with older kids or even a farm!
