Story
Brewski’s previous owner was hospitalized and could no longer care for this sweet guy so AALOC took him in. This young Border Collie mix is very playful and loving and gets along great with other dogs. Brewski is a medium-size dog, weighing in at about 45 pounds. According to the American Kennel Club the Border Collie are amazing dogs. They are particularly energetic, athletic, and playful and are known for being workaholics. Although a Border Collie will enjoy cuddle time, it is only after they have spent their energy with walks, play and training. In the canine world, Border Collies are among the most agile, balanced, and durable breeds. They are usually very good at agility training and giving a Border Collie a job is important to their happiness. Border Collies are also known for their intense ‘herding eye’ gaze and their almond-shaped eyes. Please apply to adopt Brewski at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Brewski and get to know him a bit. Donation of $165 for dog adoption includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit (in Orange County, CA). For more information on adoption policies visit our dog adoption page at www.aaloc.org. Contact us by e-mail at aaloc@aaloc.org or by phone (714) 893-4393.

Story
To meet Buck, call Lydia at 714-357-8405. Here is some information to help find the perfect Furever Home for Buck: Age: ~13/14 months (as of 9/15/24) Weight: 30-35 lbs DNA Results: 46% Border Collie (energy) 25% Cattle Dog (herding instinct) 8% Chihuahua (small dog,not likely to grow anymore) 7% Australian Shepherd Buck is: 1) Kennel trained: sleeps in a kennel. Has slept outside of a kennel, on a dog bed, when other dogs are around. 2) House trained: and knows how to use a doggie door 3) Leash trained/martingale collar: he's still learning but has steadily improved to 80% leash trained. 4) Knows basic commands: wait, sit, down, get the ball, drop the ball, stay. 5) Great in the car (with his harness and seat belt clip) 6) Perfect for an Adult only home; no small/young kids. He would be truly happy with a single adult or couple who like to run. Buck has a strong herding instinct. He needs a job. He would be so happy on a farm, ranch setting where he could run all day--Ontario, Temecula, Murrietta areas? He really enjoys the company of other dogs (No info on cats). He's been with both small and huge dogs. He is very happy with 1 or more dogs in the home, which also gives him a lot of activity. He loves walks and ball & frisbee play. He would be perfect for an adult who'd enjoy an agility dog, for competition: He is very smart and figures puzzle games and ball games out quickly. He runs and jumps in the air for balls, frisbees. ================================================= Do NOT call to ask if this puppy is available for adoption. If this listing is still posted then we are still accepting applications. Please read the narrative in its entirety. Please note our adoption procedures are explained in GREAT DETAIL BELOW. READ, READ, READ. Thank You. . . . . The best match will be selected and contacted to confirm an appointment at Petsmart in Yorba Linda on Saturday between noon and 3 pm or on a mutually agreeable day, time and place. We do not do out-of-state adoptions for puppies and we cannot hold puppies; please submit your application when you are ready to adopt. If you are interested in meeting any Poochmatch dog, please visit our website to complete an adoption application. It is in the ADOPTION folder at the top of our home page. Just fill in the blanks and SEND. The adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, microchip registration, core vaccinations including rabies and 4 sets of distemper/parvo and deworming. Adoption fees vary based on age, breed, size and the costs incurred on the dog's behalf by us i.e. medical, behavioral training, etc. Puppies are not house-trained although they may have begun crate-training and/or potty pad training in their foster home, depending on their age. House-training is a process that will need to be completed by their adopter. Puppies, if left unsupervised and not redirected will develop negative behaviors such as using the restroom in the wrong place, chewing, barking, whining, etc. Please be sure to do research on raising a puppy and be sure that you are prepared to do so. This is a great article from 3LostDogs that explains the trials and tribulations of puppyhood: http://3lostdogs.com/things-wish-everyone-knew-before-they-get-dog-2/

Story
Hi, I’m Linus and I’m the cutest freckled boy around! I’m only 6 month old, the shelter said I’m an Australian kelpie but my foster mom thinks I’m part Australian Shepard since my brother has long hair and Australian cattle dog since I have so many freckles! I’m about 30 pounds right now but still have some growing to do, my foster mom doesn’t think I’ll be too big but I should grow another 10 pounds. I’m so sweet and I love cuddling but I can’t stay for long because I have very important puppy business to attend to so I’m usually always on the go! I’m incredibly smart, I’ve learned to open doors by jumping up on them so I may surprise you with more things I learn in the future! I know that’s a little naughty and I’m still learning some manners, I love playing with my toys except I don’t always like to share them so I’ll growl at other dogs but I’m learning I can’t resource guard so you’ll have to keep teaching me, like I said I’m incredibly smart so I’ve already started learning! I also have an amazing rock collection I can’t wait to show you! I’m crate trained so I can’t eat anything I’m not supposed to while I’m unsupervised, I like picking up rocks! I may not be the best fit for a family with young children since I jump a lot and I’m learning to kiss instead of giving love bites when I get excited! I love playing with all my dog friends and like our cats. I will need to learn basic training but I’m so excited to learn and start connecting together, I’m ready to become your perfect dog! You’ll fall in love immediately with my sweet face and all my freckles! Location Fontana, CA

I love chasing my tail and I’ve been practicing to get faster but I still can’t catch it, I’ll be able do it one day! I get the zoomies and love playing with all my dog friends, we love playing with toys but sometimes I don’t like to share so I’m learning I can’t resource guard and you’ll have to keep teaching me! Story
Shadow is 4.5 years old and in good health. He is temporarily staying with my kids' mother on a trial basis but i highly doubt ahe has the lingbterm ability to guve him what he needs. It works fir now whike shes unemoloywd but ge will need a permanent home soon. He us currently 75lbs but overweight. Vet recently told me he should be about 60lbs. Shadow needs an experienced handler, lots of attention and daily activity. Id orefer you are familiar with the breed. Ive had him since he was a puppy and took great strides to keep him active and social. Ive trained him off leash for years to obey most directional commands and he has been trained on leash as well. And he's potty trained. Shadow is a very loving dog, but I think he is needy, too. Very intelligent and very ready to play and interact.
