Story
Rae was found on the side of the road and has been with us since December 2025 — and we're still searching for her perfect match! At 7 months old, she's full of energy and loves daily walks and fetch sessions to burn it off. When she's done, she just wants to be close to her people — at your feet, on the couch, wherever you are. She lives happily with our male dog and cat. She's still working on leash manners around new dogs and strangers, and children make her nervous and reactive, so she needs a home without kids. Rae's ideal home: ✔ Active single person or couple, no children ✔ Time for daily walks and outdoor play ✔ Patient with continued training ✔ Wants a loyal shadow who loves you hard She has so much love to give — she just needs the right fit. If that's you, please reach out! 🐕

Joshua is a sweet and gentle natured boy still getting used to kennel life. While he may come off as a bit unsure at first, he warms up quickly and is playful and affectionate. He is still a puppy, and will need an adopter that will provide careful introductions to new things and help him build confidence in the big wide outside world. He is curious, loves to explore, and social. He is also treat motivated, making it likely he will pick up on training quickly.

Obsidian needs someone who will have time to spend with him and teach him. He would so best in a home with no children. Story
Frida would do best in a home with low activity. She loves her adventures outside.. going on walks and hikes, but while in her home Frida would like it to be peaceful and low energy. She would do best with another dog in the home and no with no small children or small animals. Frida is a sweetheart, but she scares easily. A more mellow home with less traffic would help her feel safer. If you have any questions or if you would like to set up an appointment to meet Frida please call 707-459-4900.

Story
Meet Captain! Captain is a 1-year-old Queensland Heeler mix with a bright mind, an adventurous spirit, and all the charm you`d expect from a young herding breed. If you`re looking for a dog who is equal parts loyal companion, hiking buddy, and training partner, Captain may be your perfect match. This handsome boy is friendly, affectionate, and eager to connect with people. He loves greeting his favorite humans with a wiggly body and a happy tail, often leaning in for pets and attention. While he can be a little stressed in the shelter environment, his social and loving personality shines through wherever he goes. As a true herding breed, Captain comes equipped with all the instincts that make Heelers so intelligent and driven. He`s active, curious, and always looking for something to do. He enjoys exploring his surroundings, playing with toys, and engaging with both people and other dogs. Captain is especially toy-motivated and loves interactive play. He has also shown friendly, playful behavior with other dogs, offering play bows, soft hopping, and playful interactions. He may do well with a canine companion who enjoys an active play style. Because of his breed tendencies, Captain sometimes uses his mouth when he`s excited. This includes mouthing and occasional nipping behaviors commonly seen in herding breeds. These behaviors are manageable and not aggressive, but they will require continued training, consistency, and appropriate outlets for his energy and instincts.Captain is looking for an experienced home that understands the needs of working and herding breeds. He`ll thrive with adopters who can provide structure, training, exercise, enrichment, and plenty of opportunities to use his brain. Captain isn`t looking for a couch-potato lifestyle—he`s looking for a teammate. Whether it`s hiking trails, learning new tricks, playing fetch, or tackling enrichment games, this smart young dog is ready to take on life`s adventures with his person by his side. If you`re ready for a loyal companion with brains, energy, and a heart full of potential, Captain is ready to report for duty.
