Story
Location: St. Paul, MN Meet Cookie — a Border Collie mix who is as sweet as her name. She’s dog friendly, steady tempered, and just the right medium size. With her adorable freckled nose and warm brown eyes, she’s ready to focus all her love on her new family. Originated from: Shelter in Georgia. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs over 9 months), FIV/FeLV test (cats - one in the litter), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. Story
Meet Mayla, a purebred Border Collie with classic working-dog intelligence, incredible affection, and boundless enthusiasm. We brought Mayla home from a local farm where both of her parents worked with sheep, and she has carried that loyal, active drive with her ever since. She has been a deeply cherished and sweet family companion, proving herself time and again to be wonderfully gentle and great with our kids.Mayla is an active girl who thrives when she gets plenty of outdoor exercise, long walks, and mental stimulation. Her absolute passion in life is playing fetch with a frisbee, she is a natural athlete, an expert catcher, and could happily play for hours if you let her. After a lot of family discussion, we have made the difficult decision to rehome her. With our second child here, we simply no longer have the time and energy she truly deserves to stay happy and fulfilled.

Story
Location: Circle Pines, MN Hi, my name is Ari! I’m a very happy and energetic boy! I need lots of physical and mental stimulation. I like to eat out of slow feeders, muffin pans, and the Kong Wobbler so I don’t eat too fast. I’m so great in my kennel while my mom goes to work. When she gets home I’m quiet until she lets me out of the kennel, then I’m pretty vocal until I can get out for a nice walk to go potty. I can sit, shake, lay down, and touch. When mom is home from work, I need at least four walks a day. I listen pretty well at home, but when we get outside I’m distracted and tend to ignore my mom. I know I sound pretty great, but I have some quirks too. I’m protective of my owner and don’t want people or dogs to approach her, so you have to be patient with me. If I approach them, I do much better. I would be best in an active home with a fenced in yard. Keep in mind, I’m a herding dog and I’m looking for things to keep me stimulated so I stay out of trouble. *Originated from: South Dakota Reservation. --------------- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Story
Check little Sienna out! This little border collie blend was found out in the cold on the streets of Ada, MN. She was held with the Ada Police Department for a weekend, and brought into NWMNAR first thing the following Monday morning at daybreak. Little Sienna stayed on stray hold for a week, has been spayed, brought up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and now looking for her furever home! This little gal is spirited and definitely holds her own. Her personality is bigger in size than she is with a bit of a dominant personality and is a quick learner. She has been around other dogs while vacationing here at the rescue and is brushing up on her social skills. Sienna was adopted, and yet returned as she wasn't working out with active lifestyle. She would prefer a calm quiet home where she can be loved. Sienna is available for adoption, and is also currently seeking a foster home! Fine Print: All dogs of NWMNAR are screened at the headquarters in Ada, Mn until they are vetted. They are then transferred to foster homes throughout MN and some into ND so they can get used to lifestyles with a family in a home. Adoption fee for an adult dog is $300 + Mn tax. Adoption fee for a dog over 3 years of age is $300 + Mn tax., pup/dog1 year to 3 years is $400 + Mn tax. Under 1 year of age $500 + Mn tax. Free adoption applications can be found on our website at: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/NMA/Dog. Because NWMNAR is not a public shelter, meet and greets do not take place until an application has been approved and a home visit has been completed in person or virtually. Meet and greets will take place in a public setting along with the adoption if compatible. Dogs can be met in Ada, MN weekday and weekends, or in our alternate office location in Maple Grove, MN on weekends only. Once we receive your submission, our application review team will be in touch with you. Please have patience while they look over your application.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Willie! Willie is a happy, energetic, and people-pleasing dog who loves being active and spending time with his people. One of his favorite things to do is fetch sticks, and he absolutely loves to run! Willie is housetrained and knows the commands “sit” and “lay down.” He has also had experience living with small to medium-sized dogs, cats, and farm animals in his previous home. Ask a TCHS staff member about slow and proper introductions with any resident animals. While Willie is a friendly and eager-to-please dog, he can be nervous in new situations. He may benefit from a patient, understanding family who will give him time to adjust and build confidence at his own pace. *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling (320) 252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee. **Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures, and general care of all shelter animals. Story
Percy is doing SO well, and we honestly can’t believe how much he has changed in such a short time. When Percy first came to us, he was a very scared 4-year-old Border Collie. Because of his unfortunate past, he was especially fearful of men and would even become nervous when I simply walked into the room. But with patience, love, and a little time, Percy is discovering that he is safe.  Today, Percy sits beside me, happily lets me pet him, and even gives me the sweetest hugs and kisses. He now gives both me and my wife plenty of love and affection. He is also becoming much more comfortable with our adult dog but has so many feelings he doesn't know how to handle them sometimes. He has been wonderful around our grandson. Percy is an incredibly smart, energetic boy who absolutely LOVES to play ball and run in the yard. He also happens to be the best dog on a leash we have ever fostered! He's a champ on a tie out but would love a home with a fenced in yard. He's also house trained but is still working on nervous anxious peeing. This stops once he feels safe with his people. He's getting better with belly bands that help with clean up. He's kennel trained & likes to have a den like place to go in & out of on his own. It has been amazing to watch this scared dog slowly come out of his shell and show us the loving, playful personality that was there all along. We know Percy is going to be so excited when he finally finds his forever family.  We truly hope there is someone out there who will give Percy the loving, patient forever home he deserves. He has so much love to give and is ready to continue his journey toward a forever home.        Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, rabies vaccination if age appropriate, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Distemper combo vaccines appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $375.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 17, 2026, 8:29 am

Story
Nadia is 6 years old, we got her from a family in Mexico when we lived in California. She loves to cuddle and play but it would be better for her to go to a family without young children. She is a herding dog and her nips are pretty powerful and will hurt young ones. She is good with our cat but sometimes when they play, they will get too excited and end up scratching each other, or chasing around the house. Nadia is also a scaredy-cat, she takes awhile to warm up to new people, and you will know whenever someone is walking around your house! She may not be good as a protector, but she is the queen at alerting you! Overall she is a great dog with some quirks, but I'm sure the right family would love to have her.
