Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, I'm Judy. Thanks for stopping by. A little about me is that I'm a super loving pup to my foster humans-adults and kids. I have really attached to foster mom. When foster mom and dad picked me up, I was scared and shaking, now I jump right on their lap and show them all the love. I am still very much timid of all new people I encounter and it takes me quite some time to warm up. I'm not aggressive towards them, I just tuck my tail, walk the other direction and hide. I will need someone who will allow for slow intros and give me time to adequately socialize.   I am a playful pup and love running around the yard with my foster siblings (3 dogs and 2 kids). I am fast and boy do I love a game of who can run the fastest. I always win. I LOVE bones, give me all the bones and they will keep me occupied for hours. I am a perfect mix of playful and lazy. After play time, you can find me laying on the couch or on a lap. I am quite the couch potato and just like to be cozy and next to my humans. I will even nuzzle my head into your neck and cuddle. I do like to jump on humans sometimes, but that's just my playfulness coming out. When I'm told down, I listen right away. I am eager to please and have been doing really well with basic commands. I am still working on potty training, but doing really well. I am not a big fan of being crated, I prefer to sleep on a cozy dog bed and do well with staying put all night.   Are you the right fit for me? Can I come live with you?   Judy is from a local reservation. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Tucker Lee is a wonderfully friendly dog with a lot of personality. He’s incredibly smart and a quick learner. Tucker has a strong prey drive, so he’s best suited for a home without cats or small animals. Tucker has a dominant personality and gets along well with the two submissive dogs he knows.  Because of this, slow intros to new dogs is best to ensure all parties have time to get acquainted as Tucker might nip if they do something he doesn’t like. He adores being on the couch or in bed with his humans and thinks he’s a lap dog. Tucker loves to give kisses and is very affectionate. He enjoys tearing apart stuffed toys and chewing on bones, and he’s protective of these around other dogs but not people. Fetch with sticks and balls is one of his favorite games. Tucker thrives on attention and is used to being home with his canine companions while I work from home. He loves being outdoors and would happily stay outside all day if allowed. He enjoys trying to catch birds and gives the best hugs. Tucker-Lee is from South Dakota. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an   adoption application.   An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. Apply on our website ( https://www.healingheartsrescue.org/adopt )  to  set up a private meeting or check below for my adoption event schedule.   Age: Approximate DOB 9/9/2022 Weight: 35 pounds Dog friendly: YES! She needs one in her forever home Cat friendly: Yes with dog savvy cats Kid friendly: Older kids only Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes when she can see other dogs **Needs another confident dog and physically fenced yard**  Addie is the sweetest little girl you’ll ever meet! She is nervous about new people at first, but will warm up after she realizes she's home and safe. She is such a little love bug who wants to cuddle and get pets. She happily lounges on the couch in the evening, getting snuggles. She needs another dog in the home to teach her how to be confident. She absolutely LOVES her doggo foster brother and playing with him, so another dog that wants to play is a must, as she needs that kind of relationship to blossom. She would cuddle up with her cat foster sister all of the time, so as long as the cat can handle her bursts of energy, she's a doll with them! Because of her fears, she needs a securely fenced yard to live her happiest life, and you'll see a different side of her when she's outside playing! She is potty trained and does well in a kennel for a full workday when you're gone. She's the easiest little girl because of her sweet demeanor and smartness. She keeps herself busy with toys during the day, so she'd be a great companion for anyone who works from home but is not required!  Once she's comfortable with you, we think she would be really great at agility or other training, too, so feel free to put her border collie abilities to the test! She gets really scared by sudden, loud noises and fast movements, so Addie would do best in a home without little kids. Other than that, she just wants all the love she can get from her people, dogs, and cats!  Adoption Fee: $595Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.INTERESTED IN MEETING ME? Story
Cameron is an 8 yr old male border collie/retriever mix that came into our program a few months ago. His owner had died, and no other family members were able to take him in – so Cameron lived outside for 2 months on a tieout, and a kind neighbor fed him until a rescue could be found. When Cameron first came, he did not want to come in the house and he was leery of the cat. He now gladly comes in the house, but always checks to see where the cat is. Cameron gets along well with the resident dog and the two older dogs that visited. The dogs like to be in the front yard where they can watch people and dogs walk by. Cameron would enjoy the companionship of another mature medium-size dog. Cameron and the cat usually ignore each other. Any children in the home should be at least 12 yr old - younger kids might play too rough with him, and toddlers might climb on him. Cameron has been invited up on the couch and bed - he has only been on the bed two times – just to check it out - he seems to prefer sleeping on the hard wood floor where it is cooler or on a throw rug. He has also only been on the couch twice, so if you are looking for a dog that doesn’t go up on the furniture, Cameron could be your match. He is good meeting new people, and likes attention. He got out of the yard once when the gate was not securely closed. He went for a brisk walk down the block, eventually going into the fenced play ground area of the neighborhood school. When he saw the leash in his foster’s hand, he gladly came and was walked home. He had ignored any calling of his name, probably because he hadn’t learned his new name yet. The dogs are in and out of the house many times during the day as the yard is fenced in and safe for them. When Cameron is asked if he wants to go “outside” he sort of excitedly barks and wags his tail and heads for the door (otherwise he is a relatively quiet dog) and he does ask to go out by coming to you and whimpering. He rides in the car nicely (needs an assist to get in), although it is probably a new experience for him. Cameron was very aware of the Fourth of July fireworks sounds, but didn’t seem to be overly upset or nervous. He was very happy to be inside with the other animals. Cameron has one unique habit. He is fascinated with shadows and reflections of shiny things. It could be that he had been tied up most of his life, so that was one thing he used to amuse himself. He has spent a fair amount of his life on a tie-out, so now we would like him to have a fenced yard to move around in. Cameron is neutered and vaccinated. In March of this year he had routine blood chemistries done that were clinically normal, and in that same month had a dental cleaning with one extraction. In May , he had a lump on his left back foot removed - pathology wasn't cancer - it was a bunch of hair, skin, & other miscellaneous tissue they couldn't really identify (this is all healed up). His microchip is registered to Second Chance. He has some muscular atrophy over the left hip area- likely osteoarthritis, and is on fish oil and glucosamine supplements (and should continue on these). Also, he should not gain any weight – he weighs 52#, which the vet says is about the maximum weight for him. Arthritic hips make it difficult for him to negotiate the steps – he just doesn’t have the strength in his back end – so he needs a single level home with only 1 or 2 entry steps. He can’t jump up on furniture, or into the car. If there is another dog in the home, it should not rough-house or jump on him to play. Low impact exercise – such as walking or swimming, is encouraged. His adoption fee is $225. Call 651-771-5662 if you would like to meet Cameron. He is a gentle, mellow, well behaved dog.

Story
Jinx is a 9 year old border collie looking for a home where he can stay busy and challanged. He is smart, intense and has a high drive He needs a home with experience and interest in training. He is a very sweet boy who loves to snuggle as much as play! He is very loyal and wants to please his people. He is housebroken and crate trained. This boy loves to play fetch and can spend hours pushing balls around the yard! Jinx has lived with many dogs and has done well with most, but can be selective. He may do best as an only dog. He is not good with cats. Jinx is neutered, vaccinated, heart worm negative, and microchipped. Jinx is not an easy dog, but he will be an amazing friend to the right family! Jinx is a courtesy post, please do not contact MUSHR but instead email his foster owner at megwagner@hotmail.com and include some information about your family. Jinx is fostered outside of the metro area, you must be willing to travel to meet him.
