Story
Acorn is a 10-week-old Border Collie mix and a very fast learner! Weighing in at 9 lbs now, he’s already showing how smart and eager to learn he is.He already knows how to sit and is learning to come when called. Acorn thrives on praise and treats, so training is a breeze. He’s going potty outside during the day and keeping his crate clean, though he may still use a pad overnight. He’s also starting to see the crate as his own safe space. He'll give a little whine when he’s ready for cuddles or when he needs a potty break!Acorn is great with other dogs and currently lives with two cats, not paying them much attention. He also does well with children.Acorn is full of playful puppy energy. He loves chew toys, squeaky toys, and a good game of fetch. As a Border Collie mix, he’ll benefit from regular exercise and mental stimulation to keep his sharp mind busy and happy.Acorn would do best in a home where he gets plenty of interaction, guidance, and playtime as he continues to grow and learn. If you’re looking for a smart, sweet, and playful companion, Acorn is ready for you!If you are interested in Acorn, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550. Story
Clover is a 10-week-old sweetheart who loves to snuggle! At just 9 lbs, she is already showing what a loving companion she’ll be, absolutely loving being held and would happily snuggle in your arms all day if she could!Clover is doing great with house training for her age. She goes outside frequently and uses potty pads when needed. She’s also crate-trained and will nap and sleep on and off in her crate. While she may cry a bit when she wants attention (typical puppy behavior), she settles down well and just wants to feel safe and loved. She’s curious and quietly observant around other dogs, and she loves kids, happily soaking up attention from everyone she meets. She doesn't have experience with cats, so a proper introduction is recommended.Playful and affectionate, she plays hard and naps hard! Clover enjoys mini stuffed squeaky toys, followed by long, cozy naps. She’s a little shadow who loves to sit between your feet and stay close by. Clover would thrive in a home ready for all the fun and learning that comes with a young puppy. Story
Farmer is an 11-week-old Border Collie mix and a pretty chill pup! At around 12 pounds now, he’s in that perfect squishy, playful puppy stage.Farmer is already crate-trained and doing great with it—he’ll even wander in on his own to relax with the door open. He’s also well on his way with house-training and just needs a bit more consistency to fully master it. He handles alone time well and is especially excited to greet you when you get home, tail wags guaranteed. He has met other dogs and doesn't usually react very much, and has done really well with neighbor kids. He does not have experience with cats.Farmer loves romping around with other dogs (especially his sister and resident pup). When he plays, he does the cutest little “air chomp”, biting at nothing with tiny snapping sounds that will absolutely make you laugh. He’s also a fan of Kong toys and enjoys short bursts of energy. Once he’s gotten his wiggles out, he’s more than happy to curl up in his crate or puppy bed for a cozy nap. Farmer would thrive in a home ready for puppy life, continued training, playtime, and lots of love. As a Border Collie mix, he’ll grow into a smart, active companion, so a family excited to engage his brain and energy will be a great fit.If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, and snuggly puppy to grow up with your family, Farmer is ready to plant himself right in your heart. If you are interested in Farmer, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $550. Story
Petey is a 30-lb Border Collie mix—or a small dog with a big personality! At 2-years-old, he's a sassy younger sibling to his foster brother Max, always riling Max up in a hilarious way. Petey loves to taunt his brother with his hilariously cute "tough guy" growl when they play, making sure Max knows it's out of love, so they can end up in a classic cuddle puddle. Petey is house-trained and always eager to please. He lets you know when it’s time to go outside and is full of energy and fun. He is crate-trained, but does not enjoy being in the kennel alone. While he’s still learning some manners, he’s as sweet and good-natured as they come.Petey gets along wonderfully with other dogs and absolutely loves having a canine buddy to play and wrestle with—his foster brother has been a huge help in bringing out his confidence and playful side. He gets excited when seeing other dogs on walks, always ready to make a new friend. He’s also good with kids, but since he can be a jumper when he’s excited, a proper introduction is recommended first. Petey cannot live with cats.Petey’s favorite things in life are walks, playing fetch, and wrestling with his dog friends. Squeaky toys and plushies get destroyed with him! He’s happiest when he’s active, so Petey will thrive in a home with a fenced yard or a family committed to giving him plenty of daily exercise in other ways. Snapshot of Gordy: Size? Medium-Large (48 lbs) Activity Level? High -he is a border collie mix, after all! ;) Noise Level? Low Good with Dogs? Yes Good with Cats? Yes Good with Kids? Likely, but no children in foster home. Good with Strangers? Yes Potty Trained? Yes, with appropriate supervision and a schedule. Crate Trained? Yes Shedding? Medium About Gordy: Hi, my name is Gordy! I also respond to Gordo, Gordito, Sir Gordon, and Cheesy Gordita Crunch. I am an adorable border collie/lab mix who wants nothing more than a home to call my own--and, preferably, a ball to call my own as well. I LOVE to chase balls, and if no balls are around, I'll make do with chasing anything you throw for me--stuffies, sticks, ropes... the options are endless. My foster mom says that I'm amazingly well adjusted given my relatively rough history. I was 1 of 16 (!!) dogs rescued from a local home, and I haven't had the best care before now. For example, you might notice that I have a bit of a limp due to a wonky front foot. The vet says that this is likely caused by a ruptured tendon that didn't heal right. Fortunately, it doesn't slow me down at all! I also recently had 8 front teeth removed, including 3 of my canines, which were all fractured, likely from biting at the bars of a crate. Still, nothing can bring down my happy-go-lucky personality (except, of course, when my foster mom puts away my ball for the night). Something else you should know about me is that I tested positive for two tick-borne diseases, Anaplasmosis and Lyme. I received treatment and I don’t have any signs of chronic Lyme infection - which is AMAZING news! I will likely continue to test positive for both of these for the rest of my life due to chronic antibodies. It is possible that I could develop side effects from Lyme later in my life but for now I’m a happy and healthy boy! Here's a bit more from my foster mom: An ideal home for Gordy would be one that can give him lots of mental and physical stimulation. He really enjoys chewing on bones and bully sticks, playing tug with toys, and playing fetch. He's also a smart boy and has picked up on sit, lay down, and crate up very quickly. We're working on some new commands for him to show off! I think he'd do great with someone who enjoys having a dog that can be a companion to them on a variety of adventures! Gordy is fixed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations for his age. Story
About Me Whisper is a gentle, soft-hearted girl who just wants to feel safe. Around a year old and 30–35 pounds, she’s what we like to call a “pocket shepherd”—all the beauty and intelligence of a shepherd in a smaller, easy-to-manage size. She’s incredibly sweet and submissive, does well with other dogs, and carries a quiet, sensitive nature. Whisper recently finished raising her puppies and is now ready for a chance to just be someone’s dog. Right now, she’s stuck in veterinary boarding—and while she’s been patient, this environment isn’t where she’ll thrive. She needs a calm home where she can decompress, settle in, and start to feel safe. She has so much potential to blossom with just a little stability and kindness. WHERE IS THIS PET LOCATED? The Rescue Crew is a foster-based rescue, which means all of our pets are cared for in homes throughout Minnesota. Story
If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please complete  an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org. From Sneaker's Foster mom: I have a never-ending list of wonderful things to say about Miss Sneakers! First and foremost, she is incredibly sweet and responds wonderfully to training. She’s not only treat-motivated, but also thrives on praise—which is so easy to give, because she’s truly a good girl. She’s completely potty trained and adapts well to both a house or apartment lifestyle. Sneakers already knows several commands: sit, lay down, off, wait, and—of course—“good girl.” She’s gentle with her toys and prefers stuffed animals over puzzle toys. Her favorite snacks are biscuits, bully sticks, and meat treats—though she’s not a fan of peanut butter. She gets plenty of exercise with 2–3 walks a day (plus some running!) to help burn off energy. Behavior & Socialization: Sneakers is considered reactive, meaning she gets nervous around new people and may bark to try and keep them away. But in the short time I’ve had her, she’s already shown amazing progress with consistent, positive exposure—especially in outdoor spaces like parks, where she can take things at her own pace. She simply needs time and patience to build trust. Once she does, she bonds deeply. ‍ Bonds quickly with women ‍ Slower to trust men Would do best in a home with older kids (she’s a little jumpy and sensitive about her tail) No cats due to prey drive (not officially tested) Best as the only dog—she’s shown nervous behavior around others Her Ideal Home: Sneakers needs a calm, structured home with patient humans who’ll give her space and support as she decompresses. Once she feels safe, she is the sweetest soul. She loves: Tummy rubs Hand-holding (yes, really!) Walks in the park Sunbathing Taking treats ever so gently She’s a total mama’s girl, and I know she’ll thrive in the right adoptive home—one that sees the loving, loyal dog she already is. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.   The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online forms here as well. ##1986660##
