Story
Space is a 9 month old medium size dog. She loves other dogs and has done well with cats. Space needs a special adopter that will give her time to realize people aren’t so scary. She has made a TON of progress at her foster home but is still very timid at times. She gets SO excited to see you after work but still only wants to be pet on her own terms. She will do best in a home with no children, another dog to help build her confidence, and her own yard, as she is not leash trained. She is very fearful of the leash, leading us to believe she may have had a traumatic experience involving a leash before coming to HART. This dog absolutely loves to be comfy. All she wants is a comfortable bed or to curl up by your feet on the couch. If you’re looking for a playmate for your dog that does not beg for constant attention or a friend to keep your dog busy while you’re at work, Space could be a great choice for you. Story
Sweet STELLA is a fun and affectionate little mixed breed girl with a divine disposition. Stella appears to be a border collie mix, but without the intensity/activity level borders are known. We aren't sure what she's mixed with, something smaller with a short coat, maybe a beagle? She's about 1 year old and fully grown at 26 pounds. Stella loves to run and play with other dogs but she's a medium energy girl. When playtime is over she's ready to snuggle on the sofa with her people. Stella is housebroken and crate trained, fine with other dogs and okay with cats. If you'd like to meet Stella, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We're happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Stella at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm at PetSmart Eastgate.   Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.
