Story
Milo Miles is his name and he is a ridiculously cute, border collie looking boy with a bright brain, solid manners, and a curled tail that looks like it is signing autographs as he walks by. Milo is estimated to be just shy of 7 months old, he weighs 38 lbs andalthough he has some border collie looks, he doesn't have the classic high-energy work force typically synonymous with the breed. It’s a best guess. Border collie mix (with the usual rescue disclaimer: DNA results not included, charm absolutely is). Want to see Milo Miles and his good-boy basics in action? Head to YouTube- https://youtu.be/HuQwKpAUCFQ Milo is thriving in a loving foster home, and it shows- he’s both house and crate-trained, lives peacefully with two dogs, a cat, and a teenager, and already understands the rhythm of home life. On leash, he’s got great basic skills and the kind of smarts that makes training feel like teamwork instead of a chore. His vibe is medium energy: ready to learn, ready to explore, and very ready to come back inside and be a calm, easy roommate. Milo is welcoming when meeting new people but doesn’t rush into commitments or labels. He likes to get to know you, observe, sniff, and then decides if you’re officially in the friends or besties category. Give him that beat, and he opens up beautifully, especially once he’s had a proper introduction and can relax into the moment. Same Milo. Same. He’s the kind of pup who appreciates respectful handling and prefers his affection without any forced hugs or grabby cuddles, basically let Milo choose the love lane and he will set the cruise control. With other dogs, Milo meets with eager confidence then moves into doing his own things. In playgroups he tends to wander and sniff while the dogs play but his foster he has and shows his full “dog friend” personality. He’s food-motivated (hello, training cheat code), showed no concerns around food with people or dogs, and once he’s inside he’s relaxed and his foster confirmed- easy to live with. Cat notes: Milo lives with a cat and was raised with one, so he may do well with a dog-savvy cat who won’t be offended by a curious youngster who occasionally will playfully chase. If living with a cat in the home he would benefit from having a playful dog buddy so all of his playfulness isnt directed at the cat. Milo will benefit all around by having a dog buddy in the home, and while he’s medium energy and generally quiet, he is best suited in a home with space or an active lifestyle. Apartment life could work for an active family, but given his age and eagerness to learn more about the big-wide-world he is not a “simple short stroll and done” kind of boy. If you’re looking for a smart, trainable, growing boy who’s already polished in the basics, Milo Miles is ready and waiting to take on the role as your adoring sidekick. Story
This cutie is Brandy. She is currently 2 months old and weighs approximately 9lbs. We think they may be a border collie/ Australian shepherd mix, but with rescue it’s a guess! What matters most is that they are adorable and are one the MOST desperate in the entire US based on statistics for where this puppy is from. Shelters in this area are having to euthanize puppies. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from us, it saves their life as well as the life of another in its place. Watch Brandy’s playful personality here: https://youtu.be/eONmEGF4N5w?si=SnjARUCoETxUljRa Brandy is playful, sweet, curious, and cuddly. She loves to play with her siblings and take lots of naps. Eat, sleep, play, repeat- such is puppy life! We pride ourselves in being able to give you good personality and behavioral information to help ensure this baby is the right fit for you. You are also welcome to do a Facetime call to meet your new baby before signing paperwork! Brandy is still very young and will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. A puppy is discovering new things that shape their personalities with each passing day. Implementing routine, structure, setting boundaries, and proper socialization is key from the start. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy starting immediately when arriving at their new home, which will help with potty training, energy management, and the overall development of a well-rounded adult dog. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Run, don't walk and snatch this cutie up before you lose out on the opportunity because Flora Flowers won't be available long! When we say Flora is absolute perfection, especially considering her age, please believe it! Her personality is by far the sweetest and she has the best well-balanced energy. Not only is her personality the absolute best but she's also stinking adorable! I mean, just look at that forever puppy dog face, those cute freckles on her nose, and the fluff! Y’all the fluff is to die for. The kind of fluffy that makes her irresistibly squishy. You almost can’t help but want to squeeze her because she’s that cute. Watch her video and instantly fall in love: https://youtu.be/zzQ1p0ZZ6eM?si=4cV06WHKuSJ5-JQs Flora Flowers is believed to be a Border Collie/Lab mix approximately 7 months old and currently weighs about 30 lbs. One of the very first things that we noticed about Flora is her energy level!! Most young pups her age basically act like toddlers (if we’re being honest LOL) and are testing out boundaries, have a ton of energy, etc. Not Flora though! She actually has a pretty relaxed demeanor and is so mellow! Of course, she still has some energy, she's not a total couch potato (unless you want her to be because she will absolutely be a total couch girl if you want) but she is more mature than most 7 month old pups we’ve ever met. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. Flora is super dog friendly and has gotten along great with every dog we have introduced her to and is currently being fostered in a multi dog home with 3 other large dogs and she does great with them too. She’s been with super dominant males, dominant females, really shy and shutdown dogs, dogs that like to roughhouse, play chase, dogs that just like to hangout and do their own thing, and she’s been a perfect princess with them all. She does great meeting dogs on leash and even does great meeting dogs off leash as well. Flora loves making friends with other dogs and already has amazing social skills. She is good about matching the energy of the other dogs. She will play when play is invited and will enjoy those relaxing hangout moments too. When she is with a confident dog that likes to play, her play style is still very much puppy-like in the sense that it’s bouncy, a little mouthy, with a game of tag you’re it from time to time too. Flora shares affection with other dogs too, no jealousy here and she is also comfortable sharing treats around other dogs as well. She is just a sweet baby that has such a go with the flow personality. We would love to see her in a home with another dog, but she would be completely fine as your one and only as well. Flora is already so well behaved and according to her foster, already has wonderful house manners too. She is mastering her leash skills and comes prepped already knowing a couple of basic commands such as sit and down. She loves treats, is eager to please, and has already proven she's a smart little girl. The perfect trifecta for any additional training you would like to do with her in the future. It'll be an enjoyable bonding experience for you both. Her foster reports that she has not had one accident in the house and never gave the impression of even attempting. Flora also knows how to use a doggy door and is not destructive in the home. In fact, her foster trusts her completely and leaves her uncrated with the other dogs when she is out running errands and never returns to any unwanted messes. Flora would thrive in a home with a backyard where she can romp around, stretch her legs, play with her toys, and relax in the sun. She also has the potential of thriving in an apartment/condo setting as well with the proper exercise and socialization. She doesn’t need much but a long walk to the park, a place where she can play fetch, or even in-home mental stimulation puzzles. She would love that too. In all honesty though, she is completely happy being a total couch potato as well. So get ready for lazy Sunday movie marathon snuggles with Flora because that's what's going to happen. She'll enjoy mini adventures as well, just be prepared to be stopped by everyone because she’s so stinking cute. Flora is the best of both worlds in our eyes. We haven’t seen Flora around kids just yet and we can absolutely test that for you. Based on what we already know about her, we believe she would make a great family dog. We are willing to test Flora Flowers with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life? Story
Scoot is spunky & has a great spirit. At home he normally has good house manners. He is curious, smart, eager to learn, and a star with the trainers, but needs a lot of structure and mental stimulation. He is good with dogs at the park, and has learned to coexist with other dogs in their space, but takes time to learn its okay. Before me, he was a stray (picked up by the humane society), so he has issues with reactivity. He walks on lead well, but barks & lunges if dogs get too close. Over time he has improved a lot here, but will need continued training around this. He is very sensitive to being touched, especially by new people. He does bond quickly if you are gentle and engage with him on his level, but has nipped in the past when people don't respect his boundaries. He barks when people come to the house, but settles down shortly with treats and play. In a patient home with space, structure, and more time than I can give him, he will be a fantastic dog.

Story
Oreo is a loving border collie who can relax at home but wants someone to train him and give him a job. He was taken in from a stranger about a two years ago and lived out in rural Washington before moving to urban Oregon. He barks at other dogs on walks but has been to a dog park a few times and had a dog friend visit and was not aggressive. He has separation anxiety but has yet to try professional training or medications. All in all he is very attuned to the people around him and can be snuggly to those he loves. The house has tried their best for him but he needs more space and more experienced owners going forward.

These pups are in Portland, Oregon too!

I mean, they are all so much fun to play with! But I’m not to sure how to be friends with a kitty. I could run and wrestle and romp all day! I’m a pretty happy boy with a great attitude and a curious demeanor. I’ve got the brains to excel at arithmetic, but who am I kidding…I just can’t wait for recess! I’m super smart, playful, eager to please, and longing to be loved; so a family that is committed to working on continued training, giving me lots of guidance and structure is exactly what I need. I am teenager who is rebelling a little bit and need someone to help rein it in! Why not come in and meet me? I want so badly to show off what a cute fella I am! *****Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time*********** We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. ___ Meet Mylo – a 4-year-old, neutered, 44-pound Cattle Dog mix with a tongue that just can’t be tamed and a heart that’s even bigger. Currently in a foster home in San Antonio, TEXAS, Mylo is ready to transport out of state once his forever family is approved and ready to fall in love. Let’s start with the obvious: Mylo has a perma-blep. That’s right—his tongue is just a little too long for his mouth, and it’s almost always peeking out like he’s mid-lick or permanently saying, “hi.” A vet has checked it out and confirmed there’s nothing wrong—he was just born with extra tongue and endless flavor to sample. It doesn’t cause him pain, but it does mean he occasionally needs a little extra hydration. He also has a slight protruding bone at the base of his rib cage—again, no cause for concern, just more proof that this boy was truly “born this way.” We like to say he’s one part goofball, one part model, and 100% original. Mylo is an affectionate, silly, and curious guy who loves to play and explore. He has a bit of that classic Cattle Dog energy—he thrives with daily activity, enjoys long walks, and loves a good romp in the yard. He plays well with dogs of all sizes and currently lives in a multi-dog home with pups ranging from tiny Chihuahuas to an 80-pound Boxer mix. He does well reading other dogs’ social cues and adjusts his play accordingly. He’s also very vocal when he plays or gets excited—growling, grunting, and making silly noises are just part of his charm. Once you get to know him, you’ll realize it’s just his voice, not a sign of anything aggressive. He enjoys meeting new dogs on walks, though he might sound a little intense at first—again, that vocal streak—but he’s friendly and well-mannered. He’s shown some interest in chasing cats, so to be safe, a feline-free home is best. Mylo has met children of various ages through his foster family and has done well overall. Due to his occasional jumping and enthusiasm, we recommend a home with older kids (10+) who are steady on their feet and understand how to interact with an active dog. He’s loving and playful, and with continued positive training, will only improve his manners. This boy LOVES walks and has a zest for getting out and about. He can pull on leash when excited, so a no-pull harness or Gentle Leader may help make walks more enjoyable. He’s fully house trained and has been trusted to stay loose when unsupervised, usually sticking to his gated area and dog bed like a gentleman. While he hasn’t been crated in his foster home, he’s done very well with the freedom and would likely thrive in a home where someone is around more often than not, or with a flexible schedule. Mylo is currently fed separately from the other dogs—not because he’s aggressive, but because he prefers not to share his snacks or special treats. (Honestly, who among us does?) With his people, though, he’s playful, cuddly, and incredibly affectionate. He greets his foster dad with enthusiastic hops and playful vocalizations, looking like the happiest dog in the world—with his tongue hanging out and his tail wagging in full swing. He’s also very smart and responsive to redirection. He listens when called, loves being praised, and wants so badly to be a good boy. Like many herding breeds, he thrives on routine and benefits from clear communication and a bit of structure. He may occasionally flinch at quick movements or new objects (like a broom), so a patient home that understands his background and lets him settle in at his own pace will help him feel his best. Here’s what Mylo is hoping for in his forever home: - A moderately active family with a yard or access to one where he can run, sniff, and sunbathe - A few good walks a day or fetch sessions to burn energy and keep him happy - A family who will give him tons of love, belly rubs, and attention - People who embrace his quirky personality and celebrate his uniqueness - Continued support with basic manners like jumping and treat-taking (he’s already working on it!) - A home with older kids (10+) and maybe a friendly dog buddy or two - And most importantly: a soft place to land and be loved for exactly who he is Mylo is a one-of-a-kind pup with a silly smile, a loyal heart, and so much love to give. He’s smart, affectionate, endlessly goofy, and ready to find a family who sees his magic. If you’re looking for a lovable sidekick who will keep you laughing, snuggling, and moving, Mylo might be the perfect match for you. ___ **Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ** Interested in applying to adopt him?
