After a difficult start in life and a long trip north, he is getting the opportunity to decompress, build confidence, and experience the comfort and stability of a home environment.Beckett is an 8–10-month-old Border Collie/Retriever mix who was found as a terrified stray alongside his two siblings in rural Georgia. The puppies were so frightened that they had to be safely captured using a live trap before they could be brought to safety.Since arriving at the shelter, Beckett made remarkable progress. While initially very fearful, he gradually learned to trust the people caring for him and began showing his sweet, gentle personality. Shelter staff watched him grow more comfortable each day and described him as a very nice boy who continued making positive strides. Now in foster care, Beckett is continuing that journey. As a young dog with an unknown background, he is still learning many of the basics and will benefit from patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement as he adjusts to his new surroundings. His foster family is helping him build confidence while learning more about his personality and needs.Beckett is dog friendly and enjoys the company of other dogs. He has not yet been tested with cats or children.Age: 8–10 monthsGender: MaleWeight: Approximately 40 lbsBreed: Border Collie/Retriever Mix (best guess)Neutered: YesPotty Trained: YesCrate Trained: LearningLeash Manners: ImprovingGood with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: Not testedGood with Kids: Not testedBeckett is now safe in Wisconsin and getting the fresh start he deserves.
