For the latest updates on the mutts, follow us on Facebook: @muttlifewi Visit our website: Muttlife.org __________ Beckett Needs a Foster or Adopter to Secure His Ride to Wisconsin on 5/29 Beckett is currently in a high-intake shelter in Georgia and needs a committed foster or adopter to secure his spot on transport to Cedarburg, WI with Mutt Life Dog Rescue. A committed home is required for him to make the trip north, and we’re hopeful the right person is out there for him. Meet Beckett Beckett was found as a terrified stray in rural Georgia alongside his two siblings. The puppies were so scared that they needed to be safely caught using a live trap before being brought to the shelter. Since arriving at the shelter, Beckett has made huge progress. While understandably fearful at first, he has slowly started learning that people can be kind and safe. With time, patience, and consistency, Beckett has truly started to come out of his shell and show what a sweet and friendly dog he really is. He is described as a very nice boy who continues getting better and more comfortable every day. Because Beckett’s background is unknown, his future family should expect to help him with the basics, including potty training, crate training, and leash manners. He may not have had much structure or positive exposure in his early life, so he will benefit from a patient home willing to help him continue building confidence. Beckett is dog friendly. He has not yet been tested with cats or kids. Age: 8–10 months Gender: Male Weight: Approximately 40 lbs Breed: Border Collie/Retriever Mix (best guess) Spayed/Neutered: Scheduled Available: 5/29 Potty Trained: Unsure Crate Trained: Unsure Leash Manners: Working on it Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not tested Good with Kids: Not tested Beckett is ready to keep moving forward and would love a foster or adoptive home to help make that happen. If you’re able to foster or adopt Beckett, please apply today. Apply at: www.muttlife.org __________ Adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter procedure, up-to-date dewormer, vaccinations, heartworm prevention (age appropriate), and certified veterinarian inspection within 30 days of adoption. __________ Review adoption requirements and ensure you meet the necessary criteria to apply! https://www.muttlife.org/adoption-policies _________ ADOPTION PROCESS: 1.) Apply: Fill out an adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents. 2.) Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. 3.) Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: After approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5-day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process, we conduct a home visit either in person or via Zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: For dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse $125 for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. We recommend going to HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI for the most affordable option. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, that works too! **Note: Adoptions are not considered final until the dog is neutered/spayed if applicable**

Bonnie and her two siblings were originally found as frightened strays in rural Georgia. They were so fearful and shut down that rescuers had to safely trap them before bringing them to safety. Despite her difficult start, Bonnie has been making steady progress. Since arriving in foster care, she has continued decompressing and is slowly learning that people and home life can be safe and comforting. As Bonnie settles in, her sweet and gentle personality is starting to shine through more each day. She is still building confidence and learning puppy basics such as potty training, crate training, and leash walking. Because her past is unknown, many everyday experiences are likely brand new to her. Bonnie is dog friendly and would likely do best in a calm, patient home that will continue helping her build trust and confidence at her own pace. She has not yet been tested with cats or children. She may need some extra patience and TLC at first, but Bonnie is a wonderful young dog who is absolutely worth the time and love. Bailey was originally found as a stray in rural Georgia alongside his two siblings after surviving on their own for some time. The trio was extremely fearful and had to be safely trapped before they could be brought to safety. Since arriving in rescue care, Bailey has continued making progress each day.
