Story
About Me: Name: Bodie Breed (or best guess): Possibly Border Collie/Basset Approximate Age: 11 yr Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 30 lb Adoption Fee: $195 reduced due to sponsor ($395 standard fee) Requirements: Loving family, only dog  Why In Rescue: Owner Surrender Profile:   Bodie lost his home due to his owner's health.  He is a happy, loving guy who would prefer to be the only dog.  He enjoys walks with the volunteers.  He is an older guy who appreciates gentle touches.  Because of his age, we feel he would be happiest with no children or only older children in the home.  He will be getting a dental and senior bloodwork prior to being adopted, but you can apply for him now.  He is looking forward to being part of a family again.  If interested in this nice boy, please fill out the pre-adoption application. We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS August 14, 2026, 12:26 pm

Explore our adoptable animals and find your perfect match today! For the latest updates on the mutts, follow us on Facebook: @muttlifewi Visit our website: Muttlife.org __________Evie has made it to Wisconsin and is ready to start her next chapter!Evie is a 6-year-old, 45-pound Border Collie who came to Wisconsin through no fault of her own. Her previous owners loved her dearly, but as they have gotten older and experienced health issues, they realized they could no longer provide the activity and exercise Evie needs. Now that she’s settled into Wisconsin, Evie is looking for a family who will enjoy having an active, fun-loving girl by their side.Evie loves people, enjoys being around other dogs, and is good with kids. She is house trained and crate trained and loves being included in whatever her people are doing. One of her favorite things is going for golf cart rides! As a Border Collie, Evie is happiest when she has opportunities for exercise, play, training, and mental enrichment. She would love a family who enjoys walks, outdoor adventures, games, and spending time together. She doesn’t need to be busy every minute of the day, but she does need a family who understands the needs of her breed and can give her appropriate outlets for her energy.Evie has lived with outside cats, but she will chase them, so a home without cats would be best for her. Her leash manners are okay and will likely continue to improve with consistency and practice.Evie is a sweet girl who has a lot of love and fun to give. Her previous family wants what is best for her, and we’re hoping her Wisconsin chapter leads her to a family who will keep her active, engaged, safe, and very much a part of their lives.Evie is ready to meet you!Age: 6 yearsBreed: Border CollieWeight: 45 lbsGender: FemaleSpayed: YesHouse Trained: YesCrate Trained: YesGood with Dogs: YesGood with Kids: YesGood with Cats: NoLeash Manners: OkayInterested in giving Evie her forever home? Story
Meet the Kentucky Crew! These five sweet mixed-breed pups have had quite a journey already, and now they are ready for their next big adventure: finding loving foster homes and forever families. Their Story Their mama belonged to a homeless woman in Kentucky who loved her very much. When mama unexpectedly got pregnant, her owner knew she could not give the babies the medical attention and resources they needed to thrive. Out of pure love and a desire to give them their absolute best chance at a happy, healthy life, she reached out to a local rescue for help. That rescue connected with us, and we jumped at the chance to welcome these tiny travelers into our care. Adoption fee is 600Please apply at thecharlieprojectdogrescue.com The Details Age: Young puppies (ready for foster placement and pre-adoption) Expected Size: Medium to large. Mom is around 45 lbs, and while dad is a mystery, we expect these pups to grow into similar medium-to-large companions. Personality: Classic puppy energyequal parts playfulness, curiosity, and sweet snuggle sessions. How You Can Help Whether you are looking to open your heart for a few weeks as a foster or a lifetime as an adopter, these pups need you. Fosters Needed: Fostering gives these pups a safe, warm environment to learn house manners, socialize, and grow until they are ready for adoption.
