Story
Bartleby here! I’m guessed to be about 1 1/2 year old & a border collie mix, & I’ve topped out at about 55lbs. Mom says I’m a very good boy. I sleep quietly through the night, & my manners are impeccable. I get along with my doggy foster siblings - all various sizes & personalities. I don’t live with any cats, but I’ve had interactions with them & am very respectful. I’ll do best in a home with kids over 10 or younger ones who know to be patient with me as I’m a very shy boy until I warm up. Another confident, energetic, & similar-sized dog is mandatory for me - I always look to my foster siblings to tell me what to do in a new situation & they help me feel safe. My new family will need to be patient as I come out of my shell, but the reward is worth the wait. I’m the sweetest boy & love being near my people. I’m looking for a very special family who is willing to go at my pace instead of forcing me to go at theirs. I need a calm home where I can feel safe & continue building my confidence on my time.DATCP# 483538

Story
Nicollie or as we like to call her "Collie" is a 8-month-old incredibly smart Border Collie mix. Collie is super sweet, gets along great with kids & her foster siblings including a cat! She sleeps through the night without any accidents in the house. Although she's not too fond of her crate, she eventually settles down. Her favorite thing to do is play with her toys, belly rubs & exploring new things. She walks beautifully on a leash & would make a great companion for a family who's active & can give her the attention she needs for her high energy!DATCP# 483538

If you are interested in TUESDAY or in adopting a pup in general, the first step is an adoption application. Download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to adoptionteam1.woofriver@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. Let TUESDAY teach you how to have fun! This adorable girl always wins Miss Personality paws down! She wakes up happy every morning, ready for whatever love, action or excitement her day will bring. TUESDAY enjoys giving kisses, getting belly rubs and cuddling with dogs and humans. That being said, she also loves her playtime. She is a big fan of toys, romping around the yard and playing with her foster family. Life for her is all about finding someone to shower with adoration and accompany on life's adventures. She is a friendly and affectionate little nugget who is thrilled to go absolutely anywhere your heart desires. Her positive attitude and curious nature makes her the perfect buddy for any of your outdoor adventures. TUESDAY is also a very clever pup and we think would excel in obedience or other types of training. She basically is a candidate for everything life has to offer. She is a jubilant and joyful pup who has so much to give. She will make a wonderful partner for anyone seeking an upbeat, athletic, lovable companion, with whom to share life! It typically takes us around 5 BUSINESS DAYS to process an application. We will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. All of our dogs start their journey in Memphis, Tennessee where they remain in loving foster families until they are adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. For our Midwest adopters, we have our own private transport. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Thank you for choosing rescue!!

Story
Everyone meet Willow. Willow has the most beautiful chocolate coat. She is currently 4 and a half years old and weighs appx 45lbs. Willow is spayed and completely house trained. Willow is out of all the puppy stages and is just a joy to have around. She gets along with all dogs big and small. Willow pulls a bit on leash but loves walks and is a great car riding companion. This girl can’t get enough belly rubs and is usually found walking around with a toy in her mouth. Willow can be a bit timid on meeting new people but it doesn’t take much to get her to warm up. She could use someone who’s going to be patient with her when meeting new people. Once adopted Willow will travel via Rescue Vet pet transport to a location closest to you. (transport cost is $160.00) If you would like to make this adorable girl part of your family please follow the link below to our application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
About Me: INFORMATION  Name: Louie Breed (or best guess): Medium Size mix breed - maybe herding breeds Approximate Age: born 10/19/23 (5 months) Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 3/11/24 17 lb Adoption Fee: $550 Requirements: Loving family with patience to train a puppy Why In Rescue: Texas transfer Update: Louie is the last pup of the litter to be adopted.  He is a loving, playful fun pup that just needs a family to make him happy.  He will still need work on walking on a leash and on housetraining since he has been growing up at the shelter for the last couple months.  He has a smooth short coat that makes him easy to groom and he has enough energy for an active family.  Are you the one Louie has been waiting for? Profile:  Pregnant momma found herself without a family and ended up in a high kill Texas animal control.  Thankfully she went into a foster home and had her babies while she waited to come up to Wisconsin with her pups in tow.  Now Lilly's babies are ready to find home.  We really don't know what mix the pups are, but Momma Lilly looks similar to a Lhasa mix, but has a shedding coat.  All the pups look more like herding breed mixes, and are just adorable with a range of coat types from short and soft, to fluffy, and even one that looks like it may be more wiry or scruffy looking.  They have been raised in a foster home and now ready for homes of their own.  Note:  These puppies will likely shed.  We are guessing they will be smaller-medium sized dogs (mom is around 25 lb), but they could end up being larger since we don't know anything about Daddy or Mom's genetic history. We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If considering adopting a former breeding dog, the following article is good to read to help you understand the special needs these dogs may have.  http://nowisconsinpuppymills.com/mill-survivors.html If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $200 - $550 depending on the age of the dog, which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $75 (up to $230 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $75 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS March 23, 2024, 4:14 pm
