Story
Meet Jillian! This charming blue merle girl will melt your heart with her bubbly personality and beauty! Jillian loves meeting new people and treats every person as if they were her long lost friend. She loves following her foster family around the house, snuggling with them, or napping at their feet. Outdoors, she enjoys playing tag with her male BC foster brother, but she does not like to interact with the foster family's female dog, so she would be best in a house as an only dog or with a male. Jillian knows basic commands such as sit, down, and shake, and she is learning to be crate trained. She is very food motivated and loves getting her reward treats! Jillian does well on leash when heeling and is enjoying her daily trail adventures with her foster family. She can pull when excited by other dogs or prey animals, and her foster family is working on this through recall practice with treats. She has a strong prey drive and some herding tendencies, so she will do best in a home with no small children or cats. Jillian is current on vaccinations and is spayed. Keep an eye out for updates as her foster home gets to know more about her! Location: Madison Area Please Visit Jillian and her friends on our website https://www.midwestbordercollierescue.org/alldogs

Story
Pongo is being fostered in Ringwood IL Meet Pongo!  He is a black tri with a tail, Australian Shepherd Border Collie mix.  His momma was in rescue with her litter of pups and is a 35lb. black tri Aussie.  Daddy was a Border Collie that was 40-45lbs.  Pongo's date of birth is 2/11/2025 so at 10 months old, he is still learning about the world and would LOVE a positive other doggie role model in his forever home or a mom or dad that would be willing to keep socializing him. Pongo is curious, brave, loves snuggles and is super smart!  He loves to love and he loves to learn.  He already knows, sit, down, go in (for his crate) come, wait, he waits at the door to be released with an OK, he is just a quick learner and so eager to please.  If you have never had an Australian Shepherd or a Border Collie, we highly recommend doing some research before thinking this breed is for you.  While they are absolutely adorable, they will need to work and have jobs or they can become destructive when bored and display some undesirable behaviors. Pongo is a sweet and sensitive boy that will need a forever home that is patient, will use all positive reinforcement with him, be breed savvy and be a calm leader for him.  Once given the time to trust, he will blossom into a good boy!  Pongo  is going to need a home that will continue his socialization with the world around him.  Without proper positive continued socialization Aussies can become guard dogs and a little insecure (Border Collies) about the world around them.  We recommend continued positive socialization throughout their entire lives!  Pongo is being fostered with other dogs, has good doggie social skills, and loves to run, play and chase.  He is food and toy motivated, eager to please and just a total goofball.  He does great with everyone he meets but because of his puppiness, we recommend children over 12.  Pongo is potty trained and crate trained, a little overexcited on leash at the beginning of the walk, but settles in nicely once you get going.  He LOVES to sniff on walks!!!!! He is also a little mouthy because he is still so young, but we are working on that in foster care. He would LOVE a fenced yard to run and play in, but as long as he has an outlet for his energy like classes, running, etc, he would be ok without a fence, but DAILY mental and physical exercise is a MUST for this youngster! He will need a MINIMUM of 2-3 hours of exercise throughout the day.  He is currently enrolled in tricks class at WAG: WI- IL Agility Group in Sopring Grove IL to work on some impulse control and self confidence.  Pongo is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, is microchipped, negative for all tick borne diseases, dewormed and on monthly prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworm.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org. NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2308420##

Story
This handsome boy is Hendrix! He is a two year old Border Collie that likes other dogs and is ready to find his FurEver Family in Wisconsin! As far as Border Collies go, Hendrix doesn't fit the mold. He is pretty chill and loves to snuggle on the couch. Not your typical herding instinct or energy level.   Currently in Oklahoma.  ##2487269##

Story
About Me: Name: Magical Sapphire Breed (or best guess): Mixed - possibly German Shepherd Mix Approximate Age: 1 yr Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 32 lb Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: Loving Family with patience Why In Rescue: Texas Transfer Profile:     Magical Sapphire came to us from our Texas rescue partner where she was waiting for a rescue for months.  She is bigger than the usual dogs we rescue but she deserved a chance at life and her time was up in Texas.  She spent most of her time living in an outside kennel, so living inside is new to her.  She does alert bark to people she doesn't know, and needs a bit of time to become comfortable with new people, but she is a great dog who just needs a chance! What the caretakers have to say about Sapphire:  Sapphire is an elegant dog with a great independent personality.  Despite her nature of being cautious and timid with unknown people, she is friendly and really enjoys spending time the the people she knows.  She is leash trained and likes walks but needs encouragement and reassurance if the weather isn't nice.  Sapphire gets along with other dogs and often spends time outside with her canine friends.  She is an energetic dog, but she also likes to have her rest time.  Some additional training is recommended to help her adjust to a new environment.  This affectionate and playful girl is hoping she will find a home soon.  Don't delay in filling out the pre-adoption application so you can meet one of these cute dogs! If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to.  We do put the needs of each particular dog first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a specific dog isn't suitable for your home or living situation. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS January 10, 2026, 2:59 pm

Story
About Me: Name: Bootsie Breed (or best guess): Heeler or Kelpie mix Approximate Age: 2 yr Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 30 lb Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: Loving Family Why In Rescue: Owner Surrender Profile:  Bootsie is in a foster home as she was very scared at the shelter.  We have learned that she really prefers men over women, and likes dogs better than people.  She is very well trained.  Walks great on a leash and is housetrained.  Bootsie will need a patient adopter especially for the first couple weeks of getting used to a new home.  She has tons of potential, just needs to learn how to interact with people instead of just other dogs. Bootsie was a well loved girl in her family but when a family member passed away some of the dogs in the home needed to find new homes.  Bootsie is a smart girl that knows some commands and tricks, but she  is shy and sad to be in a shelter.  With some time in a home, we are sure she will flourish.  We don't know how she is with children, but did live with a variety of other dogs. She seems to know how to walk on a leash and tries to keep her kennel clean.  If interested in Bootsie, please fill out the preadoption application. We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation.
