She is doing well with housetraining and loves to play with dogs her size. We did find out she has a condition called EPI where she isn't able to process the nutrients in food so she wasn't able to gain weight. She is now on a daily enzyme supplement and is doing so much better. She will need to be on the supplement for the rest of her life so that is something to keep in mind when adopting. Sapphire is gaining more confidence everyday in her foster home and is hoping to find her forever home soon. Update: Sapphire is doing great in her foster home. She goes on adventures and loves it - she swims, paddleboards, and is trying out flyball. Another medium size active dog in the home and a fenced yard would be ideal for her. Story

Shippo is about 6 years old and he is best friend material. He is playful and always up for a long hike or walk. Nothing makes him happier than cuddling and a dip in the creek. He has a basset hound brother that will also be up for adoption, but he doesn't mind most dogs. He is a little weary of larger playful dogs, but loves little dogs. He has been around kids plenty, but has a protective side when it comes to those he loves. His owner is absolutely devastated to let him go, but medical complications are making it difficult to give him the quality of life he deserves. He has hot spots on his front ankles that are being treated, but the only real solution is getting back to the active lifestyle he enjoys. He would do best with a couple or single person that loves the outdoors. He loves relaxing while fishing and barking at the mail truck. He knows a few tricks and is eager to please. He's gentle and loves hugs, but lacks some boundaries when it comes to manners. He's a good boy.
