Story
Layla is 36 lbs and 5-6 years old and also high energy! She loves to chase balls, but needs a few lessons on retrieving. She'll nose you to get you off the couch to play, and will bark at you until you pick up a ball and throw it. This girl is also a fan of belly rubs, which she will reward with kisses. She has a herding instinct, which has mellowed a bit in the past couple of months. She also will need a home without children, cats and small critters. She needs a bit of time to get to know new people and dogs, and we are working with our vet on this. Layla is spayed and fully vaccinated. She will need a fenced yard and an experienced handler with a strong understanding of the breed and a willingness to provide lots of exercise and tennis balls. Story
Laika is 36 lbs and 3-4 years old. This sweet girl loves chasing and often retrieving balls in the house and outdoors. She loves to sniff around off-leash in a fenced back yard. Turn on your garden sprinkler and she will be entertained and exercised. Laika initiates belly runs and gives kisses to her foster mom as a thank you. Laika is more dominant than Layla and has a strong herding drive, so we recommend a home with no children, cats or small critters. She's a little nervous meeting new people and dogs, which we are working on. Laika is spayed and fully vaccinated. She will need a fenced yard and an experienced handler with a strong understanding of the breed and a willingness to provide lots of exercise and tennis balls. Story
Intake Reason: strayWeight: 71#Known with: ·Cats: unknown ·Dogs: came in with another dog ·Kids: unknownPersonality:Hi there, my name is Chulo and I am quite cute. I was out and about with my friend, Donut, before we were brought in as strays to WCHS. Even though we took comfort in being out on our own together, we do not need to find a new home together; unless, of course, you happen to be looking for two spectacular dogs. I am hoping for an active home where I will get plenty of physical and mental exercise every day because I have lots of energy to burn. I am friendly and playful and am always up for a good time. I have had the opportunity to participate in playgroups at the shelter and that is fun but I must say that I prefer to hang out with calm dogs. I am simply not a fan of rowdy and rambunctious pups. Although I am still a lively dude, I am mature and prefer my playmates to be polite. I am an affectionate lad and love cuddles and tender scratches but I realize that since I weigh about 73 pounds, I may be a skosh too big for your lap. I know the cues for ‘sit', ‘down' and ‘shake/paw' and do enjoy learning so I hope you will help me understand more human words. Perhaps we could take some classes together so I can keep my beautiful brain busy and engaged. I think I might like mentally challenging toys and games and maybe we can practice nose work; I do have quite a fabulous schnoz. I certainly hope you stop by to check me out; I am sure I will razzle-dazzle you with my brilliance.#2

Story
Meet Ash! Age: senior Weight: about 65 pounds (I am losing weight and should be about 55 pounds) Housetrained: yes Crate trained: unknown (Foster mom says I'd probably like one because I like to lay under the table, but I don't need one.) Good with: Dogs, cats (I haven't been around kids, but I would do well with more calm, cool, collected, respectful kiddos) Special needs: I have a bit of arthritis in my hind legs, so I would do best in a home without a full flight of stairs. I'm the most loving old lady you'll ever meet! Foster mom says Ash is short for "A SHadow' because I like to be near my humans. I'll take a nap by your feet, or follow you to the bathroom (that's what dogs are best at, right?), and I'll happily go for slow strolls around the neighborhood with you! I'll let you know, I'm a "stop and smell the roses" type of gal. But, if you want to go for longer walks, I'll still happily go with you if you push me in a dog stroller! I like to have dog friends around. Though I don't really engage in rough play with them, I'd probably do gentle play and thoroughly enjoy my time doing it. I do get a few zoomies once in a while, and I get so excited to see my humans when they come home from work! Since my legs are a little weak, I'd appreciate some carpets or rugs around my new home. If you are looking for a new best friend, who will keep you giggling from her sometimes silly ways, and will give you all the love she has in her being, then I'm the one for you! *Ash is being fostered in Madison, WI. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $300, ($550 for a pair).
