Story
Chico (aka Chi Chi) has a zest for life and is always ready to play! He's on the lookout for a forever home that can match his turbocharged vibes. Ideally, his new owner would be just as lively and ready for walks or fun park hangouts as he is. This clever pup is quick on the uptake, responding to his name and a whole bunch of cool commands like sit, lay down, come, and leave it. While he might start off a bit bashful, once he warms up, he's a social butterfly, eager to make friends and have a blast. And don't worry, even in his shy moments, Chico's all about love and play, no hint of aggression in sight! Age: 2-3 years   Weight: 55 lbs  Vetting: Neutered, up to date on vaccines, HW negative.  Temperament:  Good with dogs and probably older sturdy kids because of his energy level. Training: House-trained and knows commands For questions about Chico, please email dtv.diyora@gmail.com  To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.June 22, 2024, 3:36 pm

Story
Gentle with kids, cats and dogs Say hello to Maldonado, a 70lb softie who is ready to be your new best friend! This sweet natured pup desires a home where he will be shown unconditional love and treated to endless tummy rubs! Your new bestie is dog and cat friendly, crate trained, potty trained, and eager to be a superstar on leash. Maldonado has made great progress on his leash manners and walks well on a gentle leader. He enjoys splashing in his kiddie pool, chewing on pig ears, indulging in occasional zoomies, and showing off his crinkle stuffies. He enjoys chasing toys but doesn’t understand the concept of bringing them back! Maldonado is highly treat motivated and eager to please. He knows “sit” and “wait”, working on “bed” (aka place) and “backup” Sadly, early life was difficult for Maldonado. He came into the shelter as a young pup caught up in an abuse/neglect court case. Thankfully, shelter volunteers saw his potential and advocated hard for him to be taken out of the shelter for fostering, giving him the opportunity to show that his past does not dictate his future. After months of legal proceedings and seeing multiple other pets around him be adopted, his day in the sun has finally come, and boy does he shine! Maldonado has shown he is a friend to all. Respectful of cats and a proven track record of reading and responding appropriately to social cues given by other dogs, he is a slow-blooming social butterfly. The resident pups at his foster home tip the scales at 5lb & 15lb, and while he is fantastic with both, he may appreciate someone closer in size to play with. Only seeking one companion for now? No problem! Maldonado is more than happy to fly solo as your one and only! Most of all, he would benefit from a family who understands he is a slow bloomer and may be shy for the first week. It took about 10 days to be 100% Maldonado in his foster home. Now he doesn’t seem to fully understand he’s 70+ lbs and wants to squeeze into small spaces to get as close as possible for pets and attention! https://www.youtube.com/shorts/75-KmpPU4f8 Age: 3 years Weight: 72 lbs Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, neutered and heartworm positive but treatment is paid for and underway. Temperament: Good with dogs, gentle with kids, good with cats  Training, House trained, crate trained, knows commands,  “sit” and “wait”, working on “bed” (aka place) and “backup”   Email for questions: sonaligokhale@yahoo.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Story
If you are looking for a snuggly girl who loves to give kisses, look no further than Musu! This 7-years old, 70-pound brindle-patched beauty has a soft coat and is very dog friendly! In the shelter she excelled in playgroups and she gets along famously with both of her foster brothers. She loves to lay with them when she isn't laying next to you. You will be wildly entertained with her crazy sleep positions. Musu is low-to-medium energy. After some play time outside where she can prance around and get in some good back scratches, she just wants to be with you. She can pull on leash, but it is manageable, and does not chase after squirrels or birds. She can get overstimulated when on leash but will sit when told to sit as a way to calm down. She has a few chew toys she likes, but overall does not care too much about toys. She would much rather have food! Her favorite part of the day is mealtime. Musu is housebroken and non-destructive. She will eventually settle down in a crate, but it is not her favorite. She prefers to be out and has free-roam in her foster house. Musu has been friendly and gentle with kids at events. However, she can jump when she gets overstimulated and would do best in a home without small children. You can see more pictures of Musu on Instagram @adopt_gargoyle_dcas Age: 7 years Weight: 72 lbs Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, spayed and heartworm negative Temperament: good with dogs, good with older kids (gentle with young kids but can jump up for attention).  Training, House trained, crate trained, knows commands  Sit and Wait.  Email for questions: sonaligokhale@yahoo.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Ado June 22, 2024, 3:36 pm

Story
Goldie is our sweet and lovable 9 year old Boxer mix, around 50 lbs. She's housebroken, very loving and doesn't meet a stranger - this girl loves people. Her owner had to move and couldn't take Goldie with her. She is great in the home, likes going for walks, loves chasing balls and has a sweet personality. She also loves other dogs her size and bigger. She would LOVE to have a fenced yard to run around in. The ideal fence for Goldie is a 6 ft wood fence which she has in her foster home. Goldie chases cats, so no cats in the home please. She is current on shots and also spayed. She’s just waiting for the right home now, is that you? June 15, 2024, 5:24 pm

Story
Buster is a 5 month old purebred Boxer who loves life, loves other dogs, loves people, toys, going places… you name it! He’s very eager to please and is doing very well with crate and house training. He’d love a home with a fenced in yard and an owner who understands young energetic dogs and is home enough to continue house/crate training. He doesn’t require another dog in the house, but if there is one it will need to be a dog who will tolerate puppy energy and antics. He does love kids, but they too will need to be comfortable with big puppy shenanigans. With love, boundaries and training we know Buster will be someone’s dream dog! Thank you for your interest in one of our furry kids! Adopting from Releash Atlanta means you will adopt a dog that has been fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, microchipped and medically cleared!! Our adoption fee is $350 **We only adopt to families in/around Atlanta, Ga (about a 1-2 hour perimeter)** If you are interested in any of our dogs, please visit https://releashatlanta.com/adoptable-dogs.php to either view more of their profile or to apply to adopt! THIS IS A COURTESY POST PLEASE REACH OUT TO THE EMAIL BELOW -  ali.mentana@gmail.com Chloe is with Doggie Harmony:  https://petsmartcharities.org/adopt-a-pet/find-a-pet/results/39396206   LOCATION OF DOG: In foster (Lilburn, GA) NAME: Chloe MALE OR FEMALE: Female  AGE OR DATE OF BIRTH (best estimate): 3-4 yrs old WEIGHT (best estimate): 65 lbs HOUSE BROKEN : Yes BREED or MIX (best guess): Pit Bull/Boxer/Lab mix SPAYED (females) OR NEUTERED (males): Yes, Spayed VACCINATED: Yes IF VACCINATED- Can you provide documentation/vet records to support their vaccine history? Yes ON HEARTWORM PREVENTION? Yes - she is HW negative ON FLEA/TICK PREVENTION? Yes GOOD WITH KIDS: Yes GOOD WITH OTHER DOGS: Yes (with proper introduction) GOOD WITH CATS: Mostly - she ignores out cat for the most part, but can be reactive if swatted so we would not leave her unsupervised with a cat PREFERRED CONTACT METHOD & INFO: email -  ali.mentana@gmail.com OTHER INFORMATION ABOUT THE DOG: Chloe is so sweet and cuddly, but she is also a bit nervous/insecure, so she needs a home that can be firm but gentle with her when it comes to training. She does great with other dogs of all sizes after a proper introduction, and loves everyone she meets after a proper introduction as well - the caveat there being that she can be very protective of her home and untrusting of new people when they first come in. We have found that Chloe does very well meeting new people outside on a leash and then coming inside the house together. She does have some storm phobia, which translates to anxiety around other loud noises as well (fireworks, construction, etc) which she usually reacts to by hiding in a corner until the scary sounds cease. She is on Prozac daily, which helps with her anxiety. She is very smart and treat-motivated, and has shown no destructive tendencies in the home.         Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 23, 2024, 8:15 am

Story
Sheba is a beautiful dog. She had some skin irritation but it's cleared up now. I cannot walk her because of her strength my son has left home and the place he is do not accept pets. I do not have a yard for her to run. Sheba was purchased from a breeder in Jonesboro and she was 7 weeks old at that time. She is currently 23 months and will be 24 months old on June 11. She loves to play with dog toys and she loves to run. She really do not like to be on a chain to use the potty so I know her re-homing person with a yard that is fenced in or have children will love her because she wants the attention and she loves to play. She loves belly rubs, and she likes to be talked to she turns her head sideways when you are speaking to her like she understands. I am positive that if you have other big dogs and a fenced in yard. Sheba will love her new environment.

Story
When Casper smiles at you, and he smiles at you a lot, it feels like everything is right with the world. He's got a huge grin, and his whole face radiates joy. We've got a big crush on him! This sweet, meaty boy loves feeling the sun on his face and carrying around a tennis ball in his mouth. Casper can chase balls for days. He loves our off-leash play area, where he can run laps and roll in the dirt and leaves (his favorite thing). Casper is playful but also enjoys chilling with you. He's attentive with his friends and will check in with you when you're out walking. He also knows his basic skills, like sit and stay and wait. He'll do pretty much anything for a treat. Casper is able to pass other dogs without any issues and we're evaluating him to get a feel for how he might be with another dog in the house. His best fit would be a home with grownups who will play with him and take him for walks. He'd love a yard, and exercising with you would be his favorite thing. Casper has been with us a while, so he needs a little spoiling and encouragement to help him thrive in a home.

Story
We have so many great dogs in our program, but Brandy, with her tiny quotation mark ears, is one who has really grabbed our hearts. She is fiercely loyal and so, so smart. She adores treats and tennis balls. Brandy has been waiting years for a home, largely because she needs the right fit. An adult home with a strong routine would be optimal. She loves playing fetch and is excellent at it. Brandy is a tripod, but she has no idea she has any limitations, so please, please don't tell her she is any different from any other playful, graceful, athletic dog. Brandy isn't a fan of cats, and is selective about the dogs she chooses as friends. She needs an adult home, preferably with someone who can work with her and help her continue to adjust to life outside of the shelter. She's currently in a foster home and doing wonderfully, but really wants to find a home of her own.

Story
Our sweet, watchful Daisy is still looking for her hero. She's incredibly loyal and adores her human, especially the animal care staff and volunteers who take care of her. She has been an easy guest-- polite, relaxed and a gentle-walker on leash. Daisy was rescued by some Good Samaritans, who asked PAWS Atlanta for help with finding her a lasting home. She is deaf, so caring for her requires a bit of flexibility. New people and other animals can overwhelm her easily, likely because she can't hear. However, she's smart and eager to learn new skills. She loves treats and belly rubs. Daisy needs to be the only dog in her home. Although she's okay with seeing other dogs walking off in the distance at the shelter, she does not want them close to her. Daisy would be a really good fit for someone who is relaxed and friendly. She's not too active, although she does enjoy playing games and going for walks. If you would like to meet Daisy, send is an adoption application and we'll make it happen!
