He was left with family but they are allergic to him so we just need to find a home where he can get the affection he craves and maybe a fenced yard that he can run zoomies in - or someone who will give him plenty of walks. He appears to be a boxer mix. He certainly has the warm and gentle disposition of one. He loves attention. And though he needs some leash training, he would make an excellent walking or hiking partner. He's been around other dogs and seems to be fine with them. He would probably be best with bigger, sturdy kids as he loves to play and could knock down toddlers. Dexter is a sweet, goofy older boy who just wants someone to cuddle and play fetch with. He has been known to toss a ball or frisbee to himself in a pinch, but he definitely prefers a human companion for these sort of sporting activities! Dexter also loves walks and is very good on the leash, but he tends to tire out after a mile or two. He is house trained and crate trained, and while he has on occasion managed to Houdini his way out of his crate, he has never caused any actual damage to the crate nor gotten into any mischief after he freed himself. He does very well with other dogs, but would do just fine as an only dog as well - he definitely prefers the company of humans over canines! He is generally a very quiet, low-key dog. That said, we recommend he not be placed in a home with cats (he has not shown any prey-drive tendencies, but he is a little too interested in them for their comfort level). While he is a very gentle boy, he does sometimes get a little jumpy (especially when meeting new people) and can inadvertently head-butt with his big blocky head, so a home with older kids would be ideal. He is very smart and knows basic commands (sit, stay, come, crate) and LOVES treats! Dexter has not shown any resource-guarding tendencies regarding food, treats, or toys but he can be a vocal player with other dogs. Dexter would love a home with a nice fenced yard for playing fetch, where he gets lots of human attention and snuggles. Coco and her siblings were 8 weeks old when they became court cases with animal control charges of animal cruelty. They have been in foster for the past 22 months and were just released to be available for adoption. Coco's journey to find her forever home has been one of resilience and love. This beautiful girl had a tragic start, as she and her siblings became court cases with charges of severe abuse and neglect when they were just a few weeks old. In April 2023, Coco and two of her siblings came into a wonderful woman's care as foster babies. Since then, Coco has blossomed in a happy and safe environment, surrounded by her brother and sister. Yuki is so sweet and cuddly. She is very smart and watches for hand cues and uses sign language Because she is deaf, she is talkative and uses her words to communicate. She is bossy but a fun, quirky, sweet girl who would thrive in a home with love and patience. She loves LOVES play time with another dog but it must be short and monitored, as she gets overstimulated after a while (not a dog park dog). She is very easy to walk on the leash, and checks back with her handler regularly. Potty trained. She exhibits no fear of humans; she loves people. She walks up to strangers seeking a pet or treats. But, she can get spooked if someone comes up behinds her and touches her without making their presence known to her prior. Because of this, she needs a home with only older children (12+) who understand doggy manners and can be taught to respect to allow Yuki to come to them first and not spook her. She needs a home that understands boundaries and respect as well as to gracefully announce your presence to her instead of sneaking up on her which can be stressful for her. She would do best having a yard to get her zoomies and plays out. Probably no apartment or with immediate neighbors as Yuki can be very vocal, which she seems to have learned through experience that barking is the way to get attention but this is a behavior common to any dog that has been encouraged to use their bark to get attention, it is not specific to Yuki’s breed or deafness. A far as dogs, when Yuki was in the shelter she was assessed as dog friendly. She has been assessed walking through Petsmart with a trainer and she came very close to other dogs, every time she got super excited and although she barked, she had a waggy tail and body posture suggesting she was desperate to get their attention and play. However, she is probably best as only pet or only with a calm dog that won’t come up behind and spook her. If she has slow introductions she may do ok with another calm, gentle dog, and if with another dog, then a structured home. She would need to take time in the home to decompress and slowly introduced to them over a few weeks. Even behind baby gates at first and first getting used to scents of the other dog. But this is highly recommended for introducing any new dog into a home. Yuki is very trainable and very smart. She does use hand signals. Some hand signals she knows are “come”, “sit”, and “thumbs up” for good job. Too vocal for apartment living. Prefer a home. This ~3-year-old American Bully mix is in foster care but urgently needing a new foster or forever home as her current foster is taking a new job and can't keep her past March! She’s friendly, playful, affectionate, and full of love. She loves people, all kinds, adults and children so much she can barely hold back her love and excitement. Her entire body wags with love for people, she truly doesn't know a stranger! She has completed some training lessons and her foster is helping her maintain the commands she has learned. She’s a curious gal and loves to meet new people and engage with them. She loves squeaky toys (durable chewer toys are best), playing fetch, and staying mentally engaged with her Kong and Pupsicle. Koko loves belly rubs and taking naps and cuddling nonstop with you. Going on an adventure? Koko will ask you to please include her too! After being attacked twice by another dog in a former foster situation, Koko has learned to be more cautious. She still likes meeting other dogs but needs slow, thoughtful introductions to feel safe. For those who don’t know Koko’s story: She was found stray in Gwinnett County, adopted out, and later found stray again in Walton County. Animal Control couldn’t reach her owner and discovered he no longer lived at the address listed on her microchip. Koko was saved just in time by Castoff Pet Rescue. Koko has been doing wonderfully in her foster home, but she’s ready to find her forever family and needs urgent placement. She would do best in a home where she will be showered with love and affection. She would probably love being the only. dog so she can be a couch potato and get a ton of love. She does great going out and being social. She has been to numerous adoption events and does great with everyone and doesn't react to other dogs. She LOVES people and kids so much.
