Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet. Chop would do great in most any home. He needs a little work on basic commands and recall so should not be allowed off-leash. He is very friendly with other dogs but should not be around cats as he hyper-focuses on them and gives chase if they run. Have not assessed with children yet, but has a very gentle, submissive temperament and has shown no signs of resource guarding or reactivity so we believe he would do fine with kids of any age. Picked up as a stray and brought to Gwinnett County AC, but was never reclaimed. Has been in the shelter at least 4 months before we took him home to foster. Shelter staff and volunteers describe him as sweet, playful, and affectionate, but a bit a simpleton :).   He's cute! Age: 5 years Weight:  48lbs Temperament: Gets along with other dogs, kids but not cats Training:  Just received, he is being assessed Vetting: neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on prevention Email for questions:    http://ali@doggieharmony.org To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Story
Dexter is a sweet, goofy 9-year-old Boxer/Bulldog mix (65 lbs) who’s equal parts couch snuggler and fetch enthusiast. He loves people most of all and would happily trade solo toy time for a human throwing the ball instead—though he’ll entertain himself in a pinch. In a series of bad breaks...Dexter recently got a bit too enthusiastic during backyard ball time and permeated his eye. The vet said it had to go, so he's now got a permanent wink going on. Honestly? We think it makes him look even cuter!   Quick facts about Dexter: 9 years 65 lbs Boxer / Bulldog mix Housetrained & crate trained Neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative Recent dental care completed Good with dogs and kids (older, respectful preferred); no cats Knows sit, stay/wait, come, down, and more Walks well on leash Loves fetch, treats, and snuggles Dexter enjoys canine friends but would also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only. He does best with a fenced yard where he can play fetch and then head inside for a well-earned couch nap. After a day of adventure, he’s all about winding down with his humans and a good Netflix session. To learn more or apply, contact ali@doggieharmony.org See Dexter's Videos to Get to Know Him  Training: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/DTMYniyrDmJqV4BY/ With Dogs:  https://youtube.com/shorts/s50zqB8XoTs https://youtube.com/shorts/OxRzjbUOVXw Playing in the yard: https://youtu.be/mqxHcfH5Ryc   To ensure the best match for pets and adopters, we ask that you complete an Adoption Application at www.doggieharmony.org (click “Forms”). Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.social butterflyNeed a little peace and HARMONY in your life? This affectionate and goofy love bug is looking for her forever family -- will you snuggle her into yours?   Harmony is a spunky, 45lb, 2- to 3-year-old gal, who has brought so much love and laughter into our (her foster's) lives… she’s the sweetest snuggle bug we have ever met, and makes us laugh with her goofy grin and big puppy energy! Harmony is happiest at snuggle time, napping alongside her humans, adults and kids alike--- on the couch, on the bed, in the recliner, on the floor, on your lap, anywhere-- the closer, the better! The treat is all yours-- she is the most VELVETY soft short-haired pup we’ve ever met!   Harmony walks well on leash, always sits and shakes paw for treats, is a solid 98% housebroken (and better every day!), enjoys full roam of our home, and shows no sign of destructiveness. Harmony has been doing great with her THREE foster brothers ranging in size from 30lbs to 70lbs.  She enjoys wrestling with them at playtime and nudges them into line like a bossy little sister when it’s time for walks. She had brief encounters with a cat and showed no signs of aggression.   Harmony will do best in an active home where someone is home most of the time. She craves closeness and affection and enjoys playtime indoors or out, between naps. As she has bonded with her foster family, she has shown some protective characteristics, but has done well with slow, gradual introductions led by a confident owner, quickly overcoming her wariness of strangers.    She enjoys playtime with other dogs, so would likely do best with a companion dog. She is mostly housebroken, but is subtle with her potty cues and has occasional accidents; will overcome this with a patient and tuned-in owner.   Harmony was picked up by Gwinnett County Animal Welfare as a stray in October 2025, and has been living in a foster home since mid November 2025. She's a great gal, and wonderful companion who deserves a permanent family to call her own!   Although we were convinced she was purebred snuggle-bug, her official DNA results say she’s 44% American Pit Bull Terrier 38% “Super Mutt” (consisting of bits of Catahoula Leopard Dog, German Shepherd, Chow Chow, American bull dog, Australian Cattle Dog) 23% Boxer Age: 2.5 years Weight: 45 lbs Temperament: Gets along with other dogs, kids, not thoroughly cat tested, interested but not aggressive. Training: Housetrained, crate trained, good on leash Vetting: Spay/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm treatment underway and paid for Email for questions:    http://KATIEKGREEN@HOTMAIL.COM To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Story
Meet Coco Almost 2 years old | 66 lbs | Spayed & Fully Vetted   Coco’s life didn’t start easy. She and her siblings were taken in as very young puppies as part of a severe animal cruelty case. What should have been a carefree beginning turned into a long legal hold, and Coco spent nearly her entire early life in foster care—about 22 months—waiting for the chance to finally be adoptable.    Now she’s ready for the only chapter that matters: a real home of her own.   Why Coco shines: • Crate-trained & housebroken (no accidents!) • Knows basic commands and loves to learn • Friendly with dogs; warms up to new people with a little time • Medium-high energy — loves walks and playtime • Total cuddle bug — your Velcro companion    Coco is food-motivated, affectionate, and would thrive with a fenced yard and an active home. She may do well as a solo pup or with the right dog friend. (Not cat-tested; may chase squirrels!)   Questions: amy@doggieharmony.org Apply: www.bit.ly/DHAdoption   After everything she’s been through, Coco is more than ready to be someone’s beloved best friend. May 21, 2026, 11:40 am

Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.URGENT: Lola Needs a Calm Place to Land Meet Lola, an 8-year-old brindle beauty with the softest eyes and the gentlest soul.  For years, Lola has been a loyal companion to the woman who rescued her. But now, as her mom battles Alzheimer’s, the world around Lola has become confusing and unpredictable—and it’s starting to scare her. That fear is showing up in ways she can’t control… and she needs our help. Lola isn’t a problem dog. She’s a sensitive, well-trained, deeply devoted girl who thrives on calm, structure, and routine. She’s had in-home obedience training (and nailed it!), is fully housetrained, and does well with calm adults and dogs her size. What she doesn’t do well with anymore is chaos. Her dream? A quiet home, a steady routine, and a couch to share with her person. Lola has given years of love and loyalty. Now she just needs a peaceful place to spend her golden years feeling safe again. Time matters. The longer she stays in a stressful environment, the harder it becomes. If you can offer Lola the calm, consistent home she deserves—or even share her story—you could change everything for her. Age: 8 years Weight: 100 lbs (on a diet; no chicken please)  Temperament: Gets along with calm adults and possibly same-sized dogs Training: Housetrained, obedience-trained. Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Email for questions: jake642@yahoo.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Story
Chloe is a loving 7 year old boxer/lab mix looking for an adult only home. She is house and leash trained and healthy. While she enjoys running outside, she is low energy inside the house. She is friendly towards adults and comfortable with get togethers, but takes sometime to warm up to dogs. Once she is familiar with a dog they will be best friends. We are looking to rehome due to our new baby boy. While we dreamed of Chloe growing up with him, we realized we can’t give Chloe the attention she deserves. The lack of a backyard coupled with minimum time to take her on walks is unfair to her. We hope we can find her a loving home with someone that can dedicate more time to her.

Good with kids, Good with dogs, Needs special attention, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.Adoptions within 2 hours of Atlanta Yuki was assessed by a certified dog trainer on 10/31/2025.  Yuki is so sweet and cuddly. She is very smart and watches for hand cues and uses sign language Because she is deaf, she is talkative and uses her words to communicate. She is bossy but a fun, quirky, sweet girl who would thrive in a home with love and patience. She loves LOVES play time with another dog but it must be short and monitored, as she gets overstimulated after a while (not a dog park dog). She is very easy to walk on the leash, and checks back with her handler regularly. Potty trained.  She  exhibits no fear of humans; she loves people. She walks up to strangers seeking a pet or treats.  But, she can get spooked if someone comes up behinds her and touches her without making their presence known to her prior. Because of this, she needs a home with only older children (12+) who understand doggy manners and can be taught to respect to allow Yuki to come to them first and not spook her. She needs a home that understands boundaries and respect as well as to gracefully announce your presence to her instead of sneaking up on her which can be stressful for her. She would do best having a yard to get her zoomies and plays out. Probably no apartment or with immediate neighbors as Yuki can be very vocal, which she seems to have learned through experience that barking is the way to get attention but this is a behavior common to any dog that has been encouraged to use their bark to get attention, it is not specific to Yuki’s breed or deafness. A far as dogs, when Yuki was in the shelter she was assessed as dog friendly. She has been assessed walking through Petsmart with a trainer and she came very close to other dogs, every time she got super excited and although she barked, she had a waggy tail and body posture suggesting she was desperate to get their attention and play. However, she is probably best as only pet or only with a calm dog that won’t come up behind and spook her. If she has slow introductions she may do ok with another calm, gentle dog, and if with another dog, then a structured home. She would need to take time in the home to decompress and slowly introduced to them over a few weeks. Even behind baby gates at first and first getting used to scents of the other dog.  But this is highly recommended for introducing any new dog into a home. Yuki is very trainable and very smart. She does use hand signals. Some hand signals she knows are “come”, “sit”, and “thumbs up” for good job. Too vocal for apartment living.  Prefer a home.   Video playing in the river:   https://youtube.com/shorts/I1ee8F2qiDg&#226&#128&#139 Video playing with other dogs.   https://youtube.com/shorts/ZSENZnir2T4 Age: 2.5 years  Weight:  34 lbs Temperament: Gets along with older respectful kids Training: Housetrained,  knows several hand signs Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Email for questions:    http://kcchall238@gmail.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.
