Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.Meet Chop — a sweet, goofy boy with a big heart and an even bigger love for life. Chop entered Gwinnett Co shelter in early 2026 after his family was evicted and he was left behind in their former home. They never came to reclaim him, and he spent a few months at the shelter before entering our foster system. However, you would never know that anything bad had ever happened to his sweet, happy boy! Chop has proved to be very adaptable to new situations, and instantly befriends everyone he meets. He has a very gentle, friendly disposition and just wants to be where his people are.  Chop is around 3-5 years old, and while he was a bit underweight at the shelter, he quicky got up to his ideal weight of 56 pounds in foster care. He seems like a bit of a simpleton on account of his goofy smile, but he picked up on basic commands very quickly and has done great with his crate training. This happy guy gets along well with other dogs and has a gentle, easygoing temperament. He is a bit of a velcro dog, and loves affection. While he hasn’t spent much time with kids that we know of, he shows no signs of reactivity or resource guarding and has a naturally soft, submissive personality that suggests he would do well in a family home. However, Chop does seem overly interested in cats and other small animals so he should not live in a home with them -  he becomes very focused and will chase if they run.  Chop is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and on prevention. He is ready for a home where he can just be part of the action, continue to learn and finally settle into the love and stability he deserves.  Questions about Chop? ali@doggieharmony.org Interested adopters can apply here: www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption Once an online match is made, caretakers will arrange a preliminary home visit.June 9, 2026, 8:27 pm

Story
Dexter is a sweet, goofy 9-year-old Boxer/Pit mix (65 lbs) who’s equal parts couch snuggler and fetch enthusiast. He loves people most of all and would happily trade solo toy time for a human throwing the ball instead—though he’ll entertain himself in a pinch. In a series of bad breaks...Dexter recently got a bit too enthusiastic during backyard ball time and perforated his eye. The vet said it had to go, so he's now got a permanent wink going on. Honestly? We think it makes him look even cuter!   Quick facts about Dexter: 9 years 65 lbs Boxer / Pit bull mix Housetrained & crate trained Neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative Recent dental care completed Good with dogs and kids (older, respectful preferred); no cats Knows sit, stay/wait, come, down, and more Walks well on leash Loves fetch, treats, and snuggles Dexter enjoys canine friends but would also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only. He does best with a fenced yard where he can play fetch and then head inside for a well-earned couch nap. After a day of adventure, he’s all about winding down with his humans and a good Netflix session. Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.URGENT: Lola Needs a Calm Place to Land Meet Lola, an 8-year-old brindle beauty with the softest eyes and the gentlest soul.  For years, Lola has been a loyal companion to the woman who rescued her. But now, as her mom battles Alzheimer’s, the world around Lola has become confusing and unpredictable—and it’s starting to scare her. That fear is showing up in ways she can’t control… and she needs our help. Lola isn’t a problem dog. She’s a sensitive, well-trained, deeply devoted girl who thrives on calm, structure, and routine. She’s had in-home obedience training (and nailed it!), is fully housetrained, and does well with calm adults and dogs her size. What she doesn’t do well with anymore is chaos. Her dream? A quiet home, a steady routine, and a couch to share with her person. Lola has given years of love and loyalty. Now she just needs a peaceful place to spend her golden years feeling safe again. Time matters. The longer she stays in a stressful environment, the harder it becomes. If you can offer Lola the calm, consistent home she deserves—or even share her story—you could change everything for her. Age: 8 years Weight: 100 lbs (on a diet; no chicken please)  Temperament: Gets along with calm adults and possibly same-sized dogs Training: Housetrained, obedience-trained. Vetting: Spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Email for questions: jake642@yahoo.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit.June 9, 2026, 8:27 pm

Story
Meet Coco Almost 2 years old | 66 lbs | Spayed & Fully Vetted   Coco’s life didn’t start easy. She and her siblings were taken in as very young puppies as part of a severe animal cruelty case. What should have been a carefree beginning turned into a long legal hold, and Coco spent nearly her entire early life in foster care—about 22 months—waiting for the chance to finally be adoptable.    Now she’s ready for the only chapter that matters: a real home of her own.   Why Coco shines: • Crate-trained & housebroken (no accidents!) • Knows basic commands and loves to learn • Friendly with dogs; warms up to new people with a little time • Medium-high energy — loves walks and playtime • Total cuddle bug — your Velcro companion    Coco is food-motivated, affectionate, and would thrive with a fenced yard and an active home. She may do well as a solo pup or with the right dog friend. (Not cat-tested; may chase squirrels!)   Questions: amy@doggieharmony.org Apply: www.bit.ly/DHAdoption   After everything she’s been through, Coco is more than ready to be someone’s beloved best friend. June 9, 2026, 8:27 pm

Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.low-key couch potatoMeet Vanilla — a gentle cuddlebug ready for his second chance. Vanilla is a 5-year-old, 50-pound sweetheart with soft eyes, a soft white coat, and an even softer spirit. He’s a calm, homebody type who doesn’t need much beyond a cozy couch, a quiet home, and someone to love. Short walks, relaxed car rides, and plenty of couch time are his idea of a perfect day. Once he trusts you, he’s all-in for belly rubs and snuggles.  Vanilla came into the shelter in heartbreaking condition — underweight, sick, and struggling with multiple health issues. With the help of a devoted foster, he has made an incredible recovery. He’s completed heartworm treatment, gained weight, and is learning that the world can be safe and kind. He can be shy at first, but blossoms with patience and gentle handling. He does well with calm, respectful dogs after slow introductions and prefers a peaceful, “live and let live” lifestyle. He is crate trained, housetrained, and walks nicely on leash. No cats for this boy, and he’d do best with adults or older, considerate kids. Vanilla doesn’t ask for much — just safety, softness, and someone who will finally give him the steady love he’s always deserved. Story
Chloe is a loving 7 year old boxer/lab mix looking for an adult only home. She is house and leash trained and healthy. While she enjoys running outside, she is low energy inside the house. She is friendly towards adults and comfortable with get togethers, but takes sometime to warm up to dogs. Once she is familiar with a dog they will be best friends. We are looking to rehome due to our new baby boy. While we dreamed of Chloe growing up with him, we realized we can’t give Chloe the attention she deserves. The lack of a backyard coupled with minimum time to take her on walks is unfair to her. We hope we can find her a loving home with someone that can dedicate more time to her.

Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.Adoptions within 2 hours of Atlanta Meet Yuki — a brilliant, affectionate girl who just happens to be deaf (and doesn’t let that slow her down one bit!). Yuki is a 3-year-old, 35-pound sweetheart who is incredibly smart, people-loving, and highly in tune with her environment. She already knows several hand signals, including “come,” “sit,” and “good job,” and she loves learning and engaging with her humans.  She’s playful and enjoys other dogs, but can get overstimulated, so she does best with short, structured play or a calm canine companion (or as an only dog). She walks beautifully on leash, checks in often with her handler, is fully housetrained, and absolutely adores people—often greeting strangers for attention or treats. Because she can be startled if approached from behind unexpectedly, Yuki needs a home with older, dog-savvy kids (12+) who understand how to interact gently and respectfully. She would do best in a home (not an apartment), as she can be vocal when excited or seeking attention. Yuki is highly trainable, eager to please, and thrives with structure, patience, and clear communication. With the right home, she will blossom into an incredibly loyal and joyful companion. Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.Easy companionMeet Mama! At just a year old, Mama has already raised 8 beautiful puppies and kept them safe after surviving life on the streets. Now that all her babies have found homes, it’s finally Mama’s turn. Mama is a gentle, loving girl who may be shy for the first few seconds, but once she knows you’re a friend, she gives you her whole heart. She loves other dogs, walks beautifully on leash, rides calmly in the car, and is soaking up indoor life like she was always meant for it. Her silky satin coat is finally shining now that she’s healthy, safe, and well-fed. She’s smart, playful, and still has a few puppy habits we’re helping her work through, including gentle mouthiness during play and ongoing house training. Mama would love a home with a dog buddy, but she’d also be happy as your one-and-only best friend. After everything she’s been through, Mama deserves a soft place to land and someone to love her forever.  Mama taking a drive: https://youtu.be/wWlUW9992fM Approx. 1 year old | 45 lbs Dog-friendly | Crate trained | Vaccinated | HW negative | Spay scheduled Questions? amy@doggieharmony.org *** To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; though many of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.June 9, 2026, 8:27 pm
