A SWEET DOGGIE FRIEND: Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 32 lbs. Hi there, I’m Harvey! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control along with another friend, and I’m so happy to be safe and loved while I wait for my forever family. I’m in a wonderful foster home now while I wait for my furever family to find me. Perhaps you? • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I came in with a dog friend and have met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them. I also liked to run around with and nap next to the 25-lb. puppy and 45-lb. 3-year-old dog in a temp. foster home, as well as the 8–10-year-old female dogs I snuggled with in another foster home, so if you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I like to snuggle with and enjoyed my time with the calm 15-year-old girl who visited my foster; however, I had a negative reaction to younger kids I met at the MM shelter that were a bit more rambunctious. I backed away and made some noise showing that I did not like that. So, if you have older kids such as 15+ that are calmer and sweet, let's meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a sweet, handsome boy with a gentle and happy personality and a loving heart. I can be a little shy and timid when I first meet new people, especially men, or experience new things, but my friendly nature quickly shines through. My foster says “everyone who has met him, me included, thinks he's perfect. He is such a good boy.” My fosters think I would do really well with someone who is home quite a bit who is looking for a wonderful constant companion as I really love being a little shadow. Do you need one? Can’t you just picture it? Wherever you go, I would be there to trot alongside, hang out on the couch, play with some fun squeaky toys . . . wherever you are, I would just be happy to be there! / Energy level: 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I've mastered the ‘sit’ command and I look forward to learning more. Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs. / I did well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. In my foster home, I don’t want to spend much time in there, but when it’s time for bed, I go into my crate for a treat and may bark or whine for a few minutes, then I sleep well overnight. / My potty manners have been good on the shelter schedule. In foster, I did a bit of marking the first day each time I went to a new house, but after my foster tells me 'no', I have had good potty manners after that. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I like cuddling on the couch, following my foster everywhere, spending time with them just making sure they know that they are loved! I also enjoy treats, Nylabones, squeaky toys, spending time with my dog friends, and giving you some sweet kisses! I enjoy riding in the car so I’m here if you need someone to ride shotgun! / Other than being rushed into new situations or new relationships and spending much time in a crate, like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. A CALM & LOVING FELLOW: Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 41 lbs. Hi, I'm Matzo! I came to Mostly Mutts when I found myself in need of a home! Thankfully, they took me in, and I am soaking up all the love and attention from the volunteers here and I heard them say that I'm now ready to find a family of my very own. I think that is the best news ever! Plan to come meet me soon and see if I am your new furry family member! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them so if you have a nice dog at home already, let's meet! I also had a nice day trip with a volunteer and her dog, and we enjoyed each other's company. In a short break foster home, I played nicely with the 6-year-old dog and was respectful of a 10-year-old dog. I was a little bit too much for a small dog I met in another temp. foster home, so best dogs around my size or larger. I also really like attention from my people so any dog friends need to be okay with sharing their person. / Cats unknown. / I met a sweet girl on one of my outings with a volunteer, who was around 10 years old and I liked her. I laid down next to her on a bench and put my head in her lap. I also met several kids of varying ages at the Mostly Mutts Market and did well with them, so if you have kids, let's meet and best no toddlers that I may accidentally bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I'm an exceptionally sweet, gentle, and loving boy with the manners of a true gentleman—and I'm pretty amazing, too! I'm the sweetest gentleman during my baths, politely lifting each paw for rinsing and rewarding everyone afterward with lots of happy tail wags. I'm also wonderful in the car during my day-trip adventures with the nice volunteers, and I usually drift off to sleep soon after we get going. And get this—I recently shared the trail at Kennesaw Mountain with four horses and wasn't even reactive to them! I also enjoyed meeting lots of new friends at a volunteer's office as well as accompanying my temp. foster to the MM Market where I greeted people nicely and had good manners at the register. What fun! I'm truly a special boy and an absolute joy to be around. Whoever adopts me is going to hit the jackpot because I have so much love, loyalty, and happiness to share—and the best upside-down smile when I sleep on my back! / Energy level: 6-8. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program, so, I've mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it' and 'place' commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. Let's continue my training as there are more classes I can take through the free lifetime training that Mostly Mutts offers for their rescue dogs. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. In one temp. foster home, I did well when another dog was crated next to me and in another, I did fine not using one at night. / I've had some accidents on the shelter schedule, but did well in my temp. foster home on a good schedule, so please keep me on a good take-out schedule with positive reinforcement so I can master my potty manners. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love sunbathing, giving and receiving affection, playing a bit in the water on my day trips with the volunteers, going for walks, riding in the car (sometimes I fall asleep lol), rolling around in the grass and getting wonderful belly rubs. / I didn't want to be crated alone in my temp. foster home (see above) and like all dogs, I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I'm getting medicated baths twice a week for some itchy skin—just ask about this. These baths can easily be done in my new home. I'm a sweet dog looking for a wonderful family that will treasure me. I was adopted for a short time, but my young dog mouthiness was a bit much for them, so I'm looking for a dog-savvy home that enjoys training and helping young dogs grow into their best selves. I can't wait to find my perfect family and start my happily-ever-after! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I liked playing with them! So, if you have a dog at home already, let's meet and see if we can be pals! / Cats unknown. / Kids 15+ would be the best fit for me since I am mouthy, so if you have kids that age or older—perhaps dog experienced, let's meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I'm a friendly, playful, and very active girl with a sweet personality, and a great smile to match! I'm a lot of dog with plenty of energy, lots of love to give, and I'm always ready to be part of the fun. I'm a kiss-giver who looks to my people for direction and reassurance, making me a loving and attentive companion. I would do best with a dog-savvy family who can help me continue learning appropriate ways to channel my enthusiasm. Sometimes I see side-to-side movements, like mopping or leaf blowing, as an invitation to play and may get a bit mouthy—even if your back is turned—so I'll need guidance and redirection to help me make good choices. I have been on lots of daytrips/hikes with my favorite volunteers and I have gotten more comfortable seeing lots of people out and about. Let's continue my training together, as there are more classes we can take with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs. / I'm doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts, and I come out ready to go and have some fun—and a little excitedly mouthy! I would not want to spend a lot of time in a crate in my new home as I'm too active for that. / My potty habits have been good at Mostly Mutts and were good on the off-site training program schedule, too, and being crated in the evenings helps set me up for success so there are not overnight accidents. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love going for walks, exploring on nature adventures with my people, splashing in streams, and running joyful zoomies in the play yard! I also enjoy car rides, playing with toys, getting ear scratches, and spending time with the nice volunteers. An active family that loves the outdoors and spending engaging time with me would be a good match! / Other than possibly not liking hats, I wouldn't be happy in a home that I didn't get enough active exercise and good leadership and like all dogs, I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. Now I'm in a wonderful foster home, waiting for my people to adopt me! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I enjoy playing with & going for walks with other dogs I've met at Mostly Mutts, but I should not live with them as I have guarded toys & dog beds from them. I can be barky/reactive when I see other dogs—not to worry—my trainer will show you exactly how to introduce me to other dogs, so let's meet! / No cats! / I get a little excited to see children, so kids age 15+ would be the best fit for me, as I wouldn't want to bump over younger children & toddlers make me uncomfortable. I would love a backyard with a fence, as one of my favorite activities is chasing a ball. I will bring it back to you as long as you will throw it. My foster has realized that I am also very good at entertaining myself inside too. I'm the best office companion as I love hanging out under my foster's desk while she works. Affectionate & social with the people I've been properly introduced to, I have all the traits of a great companion. In my foster home, I have perfect crate manners & easily go into my crate when my foster has to leave the house. I even put myself to bed at night, by going into my crate without being asked. My foster does crate me before workmen come to the home. / In my foster home, I have had wonderful potty manners with no accidents. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I LOVE treats, toys (especially rubber ones with deep squeakers), Nylabones & large squeaky tennis balls. A nice, fenced yard would be great for our play sessions. When it's time to relax, I enjoy lots of petting & cuddles, & I secretly believe I'm a lap dog, so don't be surprised if I climb up & give you a big hug with my paws on your shoulders as I love being close to my people. I also like my morning walks, though I'll need a strong walker since I'm a strong boy & can sometimes be reactive to people & other animals (though in my foster home I've improved so much at not being reactive to people). In fact, on our nice quiet neighborhood walks I'm thrilled to visit the neighbors who pet me, even pulling toward their houses—they are my fan club! A nice quiet type of neighborhood is just what I love. I absolutely love car rides, too! / I dislike thunder & bark at it a bit—like, hey quiet down up there! I previously reacted to the vacuum cleaner & doorbells, but I'm getting better at not chasing the vacuum cleaner & settle much quicker when the doorbell rings in my foster home. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped & neutered. I should wear a muzzle or be pre-medicated when vetted & for nail trims as this can be pretty frightening to me. I may try to snack on my #2, but there are supplements that can help prevent that—also my foster just cleans it up, so I don't. I am looking for a dog savvy, loving family where I will be cherished! I can be vocal when playing and meeting other dogs and my responses to seeing dogs from afar are improving. It helped when I had a few visits with the same dog, so if you have a nice, patient doggie at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be pals. I think I would also be fine with being your only dog. / Cats unknown. / I met two nice boys around 6 years old at Mostly Mutts and did well with them, so a home with kids ages 10 and up could be a good fit for me—and kids should not hug me (as I don’t like to feel restrained). Let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m described as a friendly, active, happy, and fun dog. I love nothing more than I love people! I was very sweet and handled my bath, and nail trim well. I am a bit vocal when I see other dogs or people and fast movements or loud noises may startle me, but I recover quickly. My foster says that I am not a jumper and that I am a calm, quiet girl who is a "true companion dog for home." I also like playing with toys and going for lots of car rides, where I love to stick my nose out the window and feel the breeze. I love going on hikes with the wonderful volunteers—they become my own little "sniffari," where I can explore all the exciting sights and smells along the way! One day, we went to the beach and just watched the boats—how wonderful! Now I love following my foster around and just being together! / Other than walking by other new dogs, restraint for my vetting, and being a little finicky about my kibble, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I wasn’t a fan of being restrained during vetting, so a muzzle may be helpful during my vetting. I’m a fun-loving gal looking for a wonderful family for life! AwesomeSauce is approximately 8 years old, 60 lbs, Bulldog/Pitbull/Terrier mix who has had quite a bit of change in her life recently. After her original owner passed away, she was brought from Texas to Georgia by the family and came into our care in March. She is a sweet, loving, and gentle dog who enjoys relaxing, chewing her bones, and playing with her stuffed toys. She is potty-trained, crate trained, spayed, up to date on vaccines, and knows basic commands like sit, say, and paw. Her biggest challenge is being left alone. She can become anxious and vocal, sometimes whining or barking, but she is not destructive. She would do best in a calm, stable, cat-free home and may be happiest as the only pet. We love AwesomeSauce dearly and are not rehoming her because she is unwanted. Our circumstances make it difficult to provide the time and stability she needs. She deserves a loving, patient home where she can feel safe, secure, and cherished.
