Story
Sissy came to us when we were house parents at a boys ranch and picked us! We moved and Fostered Kids over the last 4 years and she has been the best dog for those kids. She loves people and especially kids and there is no stranger. We are moving and can no longer keep her. She is about 6 or 7 and full of energy and so smart. We i pick up my keys she goes right into her kennel. Everyone in our neighbor hood loves her and says that she is so sweet.

Story
Bailey has been my best friend for four years!! I got her when she was a few weeks old as a gift. Shes been the best cuddler and the best dog I’ve ever had. Shes been my number 1 supporter. She’s a bit timid with bigger dogs due to a past trauma. She does have a bit of anxiety. Walking/ taking her to go potty is a big must. Sometimes she gets scared and will go in the house. Otherwise she lets you know by sitting at the door. I have a 1 year old that she absolutely adores! She loves kids and gets along great with them!

Story
A SWEET SPIRIT LEARNING TO LOVE:  4 Years old / 39 lbs. Hello, my name is Mary Ann!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and it took me a bit of time to get comfortable.  I got to spend some time in the prison/foster training program and learned a lot!  Now I’m in a great foster home while I wait for you to find me! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I recently met dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I really opened up with them.  I also love playing with and cuddling with the dogs in my foster home, especially the younger, more playful types.  My trainer thinks another dog in my home will REALLY benefit me and my foster thinks I would not be happy without another playful dog in the home as I depend on them for confidence and tend to shut down without this interaction.  If you have a nice playful dog at home already, let’s meet! / No cats as I have shown prey drive to chase them, not in a fun way.  /  I met a nice boy and a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts, but I did not interact with them.  I was too shutdown at the shelter to let my true self show.  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a sweet girl, but I was very scared and unsure at the shelter, so it took time for my true nature to emerge.  I have been gaining confidence in my foster home.  At first I only wanted to go in my foster’s yard if the other dogs were out there, but now I enjoy just playing with my toys and people in the yard.  My foster says I am super gentle and sweet.  My soulful eyes are sure to charm you.  I feel more comfortable with women and people who are very calm and of shorter stature, so I just need a little extra adjustment time around taller people and men.  Now that I am comfortable with my foster, I have become a great home office companion and even enjoy being with my person more than the other dogs sometimes.  I thrive on structure and once I know what to expect and that I can trust you, just watch my amazing true self emerge.  Please just be patient with me as I adjust to my new surroundings and family life. / My energy level is 6 – 7 with another dog, 5 – 6 with people I am comfortable with and a 2 when I get shut down around people who make me nervous. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  While I was a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, I learned the ‘sit’, ‘down’, stay’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners. / My crate manners were good at Mostly Mutts, though I was timid and a bit hesitant of coming out of it for my walks.  I was making progress – from not coming out at all, to coming out with some patience and coaxing with Pup-Peroni.  I now go in on command in my foster home as well as sit in there nicely when the cats are out. / I was having some accidents on the shelter schedule – likely related to my not wanting to leave my crate very easily.  My potty skills were good in the prison/foster training program.  My foster mom said that I had accidents the first week as I adjusted, but now my potty manners are great.  This may happen in my new home too. Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I really love being with people, after a shy start at the shelter, and now I give the best ‘thank you’ hugs!  I love playing and napping with the dog friends I have met. I like going for walks and hikes and being outside, and I am starting to see how fun toys can be!  / I am frightened of trucks and loud vehicles, so hopefully we can find a quieter place to walk than the roads around the shelter.  I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.  • MEDICAL:   I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.   I am looking for a loving home, where I will be a cherished family member!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  June 3, 2023, 9:55 am

Story
A SWEET, SMART FELLOW:  3 Years old / 36 lbs.  Hi, my name’s Connor!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control and was adopted for a few months, but my owner was having some health issues, so I came back to Mostly Mutts, and I can’t wait to meet my furever family very soon!  I previously got to participate in the prison/foster training program and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met dogs recently at Mostly Mutts and showed my teeth and seemed uncertain of how to engage when they wanted to play.  It’s best I be an only dog. / I met a cat recently at Mostly Mutts and we all agree that I should not live with cats. / I recently met a boy and girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and liked them. Since I am bothered by rough housing and even sometimes when people hug, kids age 15+ who understand this may be a better fit for me.  Let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers describe me as fun and active as well as ‘a real sweetie’ and when you meet me, I am sure you will see why.  I’m a friendly and happy guy who is looking to love and be loved and I’m a great snuggler.  I was calm and patient for my bath too.  My charming nature is accented by my beautiful, soulful eyes.  My trainers in the prison/foster training program say that I am smart, but also very strong-willed so I would do best with a strong leader with dog experience who will be consistent with rules and boundaries.  I have a dominant nature and crave physical and mental stimulation - let’s play games and try agility training!  / My energy level is 6-8, so I’ll need regular daily exercise and lots of mental stimulation and continued training.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve mastered the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  I have reacted to people touching or rough-housing and my trainers have a technique that works with me on or off leash — please ask about this.  / My crate manners have been good at Mostly Mutts. I barked a bit in my crate in my temp. foster home and made a fuss.  I think I just want to be with them instead, but it may be best that I not live in an apartment/condo setting.  I slept well out of my crate in the prison/foster training program.  / My potty habits are good on the Mostly Mutts and prison/foster training program schedules as well as in my temp. foster home!  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I absolutely LOVE toys, playing tug, Nyla bones and being with people, so let’s have lots of great play sessions together in my new home.  Running around with a deflated basketball is great fun and so is lounging with my person including relaxing in your lap.  I’m a very vocal player, just so you know! I like to explore my surroundings with my sniffer.  I also like to run around so a fenced yard may be nice or maybe we could go on long walks/hikes.  I like to play fetch, but need a little work on dropping the ball so you can throw it again LOL.  I like to de-stuff toys because they’re more fun when they’re floppy.  I like people and will surely enjoy hanging out with you. / I don’t like people rough housing (but my trainers have a technique to help me with this so please ask about that), the vacuum cleaner or loud noises.  I also don’t like to take my pill, but maybe you can try different pill pocket flavors that will help.  You may need to put it in my mouth and rub my throat to help me swallow it.  I can’t think of any other dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I am taking medication to help with anxiety. I may not need this once I’ve settled in my new home. I am looking for a dog-savvy family who will provide me with a lifetime of love and training!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  June 3, 2023, 9:55 am

‘PIZZA’ THEMED PUPPY:  5 - 6 Months old / Currently 30 lbs. and growing Hi there, I’m one of the Pizza themed puppies who was rescued from animal control.  Now I’m ready to find my furever home with a “Pizza” loving family!  Perhaps you?   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I love my siblings and met a few dogs at Mostly Mutts but was a little unsure about what to do with the dogs I met, so if you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be pals!  / I haven’t met kitties yet, but I’m young so I’d likely do well with them if they like puppies, let’s meet. / I met a few kids (10 years old and a little younger than that) and liked them, so if you have kids let’s meet and best no toddlers that may fall on me or that I may bump over with my puppy enthusiasm! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers describe me as a friendly, happy, active, sweet, and fun puppy!  That sounds about right to me, so let’s have some fun together making memories! / Energy level: Currently 5 – 7, of course that could change as I grow.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’ command and I’m sure to learn lots more!  I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog – including starting to train me not to chew on you and the kids so we’ll all be happy - so get ready for some training with your new best friend. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I’ll need you to potty train me, so please be patient and consistent in taking me outside. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I’m a typical active pup who enjoys being silly, playing with toys and playing with people too. / I can’t think of things I don’t like yet since I’m so young, but I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I've started my puppy shots, but you will have to finish these for me as I grow.  I’m also micro-chipped and spayed. I have a crooked tail that doesn’t bother me and I hope you won’t mind it either.  I think it just adds to my adorable looks.  If you’re ready for the fun and excitement of having a puppy as well as the training commitment, then let’s meet!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    June 3, 2023, 9:55 am

I’m young and in the chewing phase of puppyhood, so please have lots of appropriate things for me to chew on and keep your valuables put away. Hey, I’m here to help you keep your home tidy – lol. / My energy level is higher at 6 – 8, so I’ll want some regular exercise as I grow.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog - so get ready for some training with your new best friend. My foster says that I’m good at coming when called. / I’ve been good in my crate at nighttime.  I don’t love going in it as much during the day as I’d rather be with my people. / I was having accidents on the Mostly Mutts schedule but am doing much better in my foster home on a good take-out schedule. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I enjoy cuddling with people, playing, chew toys, my food and all the other things that puppies enjoy. / I can’t think of things I don’t like yet except not being with my family in my foster home and I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I've started my puppy shots, but you will have to finish these for me as I grow.  I’m also micro-chipped and spayed. Story
He was called Roamer because he was just found roaming around.. He looked like he was starved and possibly abused when he came up. However, he was trained with sit, stay, lay down, etc. He stops when you say no. He hasn't used the bathroom in the kennel or in the house although he did start to lift his leg but stopped when told no. He's great in the car and on a leash. He wants to play with other animals as long as they don't growl and try to attack him.

Story
Rosie was my parents' dog, but they unfortunately passed a couple of weeks ago. She is used to my mom being home almost 24/7 and is not adjusting well to the change in lifestyle with a working couple. She has been in our home with my parents for a number of years, but has become stressed and is displaying some behavioral issues since their passing. She is a loving dog to people, but definitely needs her own person or people. I am unsure how she is with children as my husband and I do not have any. As for other animals, she has gotten into fights with one of my other females resulting in a vet visit. Most of the time that we have had her, she has not been an issue, but I do have to disclose that she has fought with other dogs and done some serious damage. She has always had anxiety issues around thunderstorms, but has developed more consistent anxiety since my mom's passing. This seem to be alleviated to some extent with a thundershirt (which we are happy to send home) and medication.

Story
Hello, Carly is one years old. Her birthday is March 1st, she is potty trained. With her family she does amazing, very sweet with our young children and our other dog. However with strangers she is very unsure/ nervous same for dogs she doesn’t know. We cannot afford training but would love to see her in a loving home with a family who has the patience to give her the needs we could not. With alittle patience and time I do believe Carly will warm up to anyone. She is very cuddly and friendly with who she is comfortable with.
