Story
Jax was acquired by my son and my wife in 2020 from the Humane Society. He was 2 at the time. Apparently his first owner passed away. Jax is a calm and loving dog. He gets along fine with the two cats we have. We keep him in a crate during the day when we are at work, but he is not usually penned at night. Jax does not get the love and attention he deserves; he needs to go to a better home. I am willing to keep Jax for as long as it takes because he deserves a good home, not a shelter.

A SWEET DOGGIE FRIEND: Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 32 lbs. Hi there, I’m Harvey! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control along with another friend, and I’m so happy to be safe and loved while I wait for my forever family. I just went into a foster home, so we’ll be learning even more about me soon—but for now, just know that I’m already feeling grateful, hopeful, and excited for this new chapter! ·   OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I came in with a dog friend and have met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so if you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. ·   PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a sweet, handsome boy with a gentle personality and a loving heart. I can be a little shy and timid when I first meet new people or experience new things, but my friendly nature quickly shines through. I was just a little nervous for my bath, but I stayed calm and sweet, even politely lifting each paw for rinsing like a good boy. I’m a gentle companion who’s ready to continue building trust with a family who will appreciate my sweet nature. / Energy level: 4-6.    ·   SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I've mastered the ‘sit’ command and I look forward to learning more. Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs. / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts. / My potty manners have been good on the shelter schedule.   ·   LIKES/DISLIKES: I’m still learning that I’m safe and loved, so I’m taking my time discovering new things. I’m sure with patience and kindness, we’ll find plenty of things we enjoy together! / Other than being rushed into new situations or new relationships, like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. ·   MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m a sweet fellow looking for a wonderful family to love and be loved by. My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  August 11, 2026, 10:06 am

A SMART & LOVING PUP: Approx. 3-4 months old / Approx. 23 lbs. & growing Hi there, I’m Camille! I’m a darling pup who came to Mostly Mutts when I found myself in need of a great home and family to raise me! I am soaking up all the love and attention from the volunteers here and I heard them say that I’m now ready to find that family—I think that’s the best news ever! Plan to come meet me soon and see if I am your new furry family member!  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so if you have a nice dog at home already that would like a puppy friend, let’s meet!/ Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m friendly, fun, and full of wiggly energy. I’m new to the leash, so I’m still figuring out how it all works. But I’m trying, and I’m excited to learn with someone patient and kind. I’m a super sweet little girl who’s still learning how big the world is. I tried so hard to be brave in the tub—I really did. I stood there working up my courage…but when the sprayer came on, oh no. I couldn’t help it. I moaned and cried through the final rinse. I promise I wasn’t trying to be dramatic; I was just scared. But once bath time was over, I sat quietly and politely for my ear cleaning like a good girl. I’m a little shy, but I’m also friendly and curious, and I warm up fast. I love being in your lap—it’s my favorite place in the whole world. I’m a mouthy puppy, playful and silly, and I really like toys. I’m just a sweet baby girl looking for someone who loves cuddles, playing, and helping me grow into the brave, confident dog I’m meant to be. / Energy level: 5-7, of course this could change as I grow up.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the ‘sit’ and ‘come’ commands and I look forward to learning more. Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! I’m looking for a family that will teach me everything I need to know to grow up and become a wonderful adult dog—including starting to train me not to chew on you and the kids so we’ll all be happy—so get ready for some training with your new best friend. /        My crate manners have been good at the shelter. / I’m just a baby so I’ll need my family to potty train me in my new home.    • LIKES/DISLIKES: I like toys and cuddles and I’m sure we’ll find lots more things we like to do together! / Other than that scary bath sprayer, I can’t think of things I don’t like, though like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’m a sweet, growing pup looking for a wonderful family to teach and love me furever! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  August 11, 2026, 10:06 am

Story
A SUPER FRIENDLY GIRL:  Approx. 6 years old / Approx. 31 lbs. Hi, my name is Nora!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control. I’ve been through a lot and am looking forward to finding my new family with Mostly Mutts’ help. I needed to have my tail amputated to get relief from the pain of happy tail. Also, I also came in heartworm positive. The good news is my tail amputation is behind me, and I have been treated for heartworms and have completed my rest period. I am excited for the life that awaits me in a happy, loving home! I was selected to participate in the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience and learned a lot! ·   OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I’ve met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I was very talkative, but not aggressive, so if you have a nice doggie at home, let’s meet and see if we can be pals! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.     ·   PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: The volunteers describe me as a smart girl who is ‘super curious and a lover of attention’.  I’m a ‘people dog’ who is playful and happy. I can be a little vocal in the shelter environment when I'm in my little room, but once I settled into the prison/foster training program, I relaxed and became much quieter. With a consistent routine and a comfortable environment, I show off my calm and easygoing personality! I am ready to be a great companion to a wonderful family. I have a little bit of ‘stranger danger’ when I see people wearing dark clothing, though I never show any aggression. / Energy level:  3-5. ·   SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience, so, I've mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it' and 'place' commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping. Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! / My crate manners are good in the off-site training program. The trainers have found that I don’t really need one and enjoy sleeping outside of it overnight. / My potty habits were good in the off-site training program, but I am having a few accidents at the shelter. Hopefully this will improve now that I have completed my HW rest period. ·   LIKES/DISLIKES: I love to give and receive affection—collecting snuggles and leaning in for a nice hug. It’s just the best!  I always enjoy it when the volunteers break out the toys at the shelter. Play time is always fun! Stretching my legs in the play yard in the off-site training program is one of my favorite parts of the day! I love having room to run and explore, and don’t worry, I'll happily come right back when called. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. ·   MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. My tail has been amputated, so it is no longer painful. Since my previous owner did not keep me on heartworm prevention, I came to MM heartworm positive.  Thankfully, I’ve been treated for it and am currently getting back to my regular exercise routine. I will have my heartworm re-check in mid-December, so local adoption is best. I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my new family should consult their vet about a dental cleaning in the future. I’m looking for a wonderful home with a loving family that will treasure me for life! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  August 11, 2026, 10:06 am

A FRIENDLY & ACTIVE PAL:  Approx. 1 year old / Approx. 36 lbs. Hello, I’m Rockette! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control, and I’m so happy to be part of the family! I’ve had lots of fun with the wonderful volunteers, and I was even selected to participate in the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training program, where I learned so much. I was adopted for a short time, but my young dog mouthiness was a bit much for them, so I’m looking for a dog-savvy home that enjoys training and helping young dogs grow into their best selves. I can’t wait to find my perfect family and start my happily-ever-after!      • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I liked playing with them!  So, if you have a dog at home already, let’s meet and see if we can be pals! / Cats unknown. / Kids 15+ would be the best fit for me since I am mouthy, so if you have kids that age or older – perhaps dog experienced, let’s meet!  • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a friendly, playful, and very active girl with a sweet personality, and a great smile to match! I’m a lot of dog with plenty of energy, lots of love to give, and I’m always ready to be part of the fun. I’m a kiss-giver who looks to my people for direction and reassurance, making me a loving and attentive companion. I would do best with a dog-savvy family who can help me continue learning appropriate ways to channel my enthusiasm. Sometimes I see side-to-side movements, like mopping or leaf blowing, as an invitation to play and may get a bit mouthy—even if your back is turned—so I’ll need guidance and redirection to help me make good choices. I also appreciate it when new friends let me approach as I just need a moment to warm up, and then my sweet, affectionate personality shines through. I’m ready for a family who enjoys an active, fun-loving companion and will help me continue to grow into the wonderful dog I’m meant to be! / Energy level: 6-8, so let’s be active together.      • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts Prison Pups immersive training experience so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners using my EZ walk harness as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  Let's continue my training together, as there are more classes we can take with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs. / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts, and I come out ready to go and have some fun – and a little excitedly mouthy!  I would not want to spend a lot of time in a crate in my new home as I’m too active for that. / My potty habits have been good at Mostly Mutts and were good on the off-site training program schedule, too, and being crated in the evenings helps set me up for success so there are not overnight accidents.  • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love going for walks, exploring on nature adventures with my people, splashing in streams, and running joyful zoomies in the play yard! I also enjoy car rides, playing with toys, getting ear scratches, and spending time with the nice volunteers. An active family that loves the outdoors and spending engaging time with me would be a good match! / I wouldn’t be happy in a home that I didn’t get enough active exercise and good leadership and like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I’m a fun and active girl looking for a wonderful family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  August 11, 2026, 10:06 am

Story
Hello! Willie Nelson is looking for a furever home. We took him in a few years ago to help out a friend that found him malnourished. We don't know his history or his age. We suspected that he was abused. Our best guess at age is around 8-10 years old. He is a sweet, cuddly, big ol lap dog. Willie is house trained, crate trained, knows several commands (sit, stay, down, go, here, etc.), has good recall, loves to run and play but can also just chill in the yard or on the sofa with you. He is neutered and microchipped. Willie is good with our geriatric cat, however, I am not sure how he is with other cats as we have not had any others at our home. He is good with other dogs that are not aggressive. He is good with men, women, and older children (around 7-10 and up). He has no previous incidents of biting. Ideally, Willie's new home would be a place where he can get plenty of outdoor time, play time, and lots cuddles. We are rehoming due to small child and allergies.
