Story
This is Henry, an 11 month old boxer mix. Henry was abandoned as a puppy and we adopted him when he was 3 months old. He’s great with people. We have two young kids who he is amazing with. We have a senior dog who he also gets along with. However, Henry has not had luck getting along with other dogs during initial encounters. Unfortunately Henry has become aggressive towards our neighbors’ dog on multiple occasions and we do not have the time or resources to address this behavior at this time. He has had previous success getting along with dogs he’s initially aggressive towards. We are devastated that we have had to make the decision to find him a new loving home, but are confident that with the right training, Henry will be very successful with other pets. Henry is full of energy, a quick learner, a huge cuddler, loves his chew toys, and is potty trained. He also knows basic commands. He will be neutered prior to rehoming. Henry is full of love!

Story
Roger had a rough start as a stray, but he`s ready to leave his past behind and find a loving forever home where he can thrive.Roger is a bundle of energy and loves to play! He`s very playful and enjoys interactive toys and games. Roger is also quite smart and knows his basic commands such as sit, shake, and down, showing his eagerness to learn and please. Roger gets along well with other dogs and loves to engage in playtime. His playful nature means he would do best with doggy friends who enjoy romping around as much as he does.We recommend a home with older children, around 10 years old and up, who can appreciate Roger`s playful energy and participate in his activities. Roger`s new family should be committed to continuing his training and providing him with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. With his resilient spirit and playful demeanor, Roger is sure to bring joy and laughter to his new home. If you`re looking for a loyal companion to join your family adventures, Roger might be the perfect match for you!If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm. **BISSELL EMPTY THE SHELTERS ADOPTION EVENT TAKES PLACE FROM 7/8 - 7/31. Story
Everyone, meet Boomer!Boomer is a 1 year old, sweet and energetic Boxer looking for an active family who can keep up with his playful nature. As a young pup, he`s still full of energy and loves to play with his canine friends. He`s looking for someone who can provide him with plenty of exercise and playtime to keep him happy and healthy.Boomer is a very smart boy but doesn`t know many commands yet. He would love a family who will be patient with him and teach him new tricks. He also needs some brushing up on his manners. He is a very nice boy but doesn`t realize how big he is and likes to jump. Boomer enjoys playing soccer in the yard!As he`s still getting to know cats, it`s best to introduce them slowly and under controlled circumstances to ensure a smooth transition. With patience and consistency, he may learn to coexist with feline friends.Boomer is up to date on all of his vaccinations but will need a regular veterinarian to make sure he stays happy and healthy. If you`re an active family or individual who loves dogs and is willing to provide Boomer with the exercise he needs, he could be the perfect companion for you!If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $50

Story
Hey all, it's me, CheckersWhat's that? You love hiking. Guess what? Me too!I am a young boy found as a stray. Homeward Bound Rescue gave me this wonderful foster family who have taken amazing care of me. And guess what? I have a foster fur-brother. I absolutely love running and wrestling with him. I would LOVE to have another dog that I can play with and be my bestest friend. I am learning new tricks and commands every day and I gladly do them because I know there's a treat waiting for me.I happily go into my crate when no one is home and also at night time. I am very quiet in there. I do well with a large Kong filled with peanut and treats to help keep me occupied when everyone goes to work and school.Because I am young and just learning how to be the best boy, I would do amazing with older kids(7+). I just want to be in your lap all day and might try to bounce right on your lap.I haven't met a cat but its probably best I don't live with one. I just LOVE to wrestle and play chase. If you're looking for a nice hiking buddy or a chill on the couch buddy, I'm your man!!!located in Kingston

Story
Hi, I'm Howie! My foster mom says I'm sweet and cuddly, but a super energetic little guy!I love going for walks, lots of playing, and right now, lots of puppy chewing. I love all people, old or young, would love to live with a family with children to play with, and maybe even a doggy sibling for me to play with, but I'm probably going to grow up to be a big guy so keep that in mind! I love to play with the resident dog here, and have got along well with every dog I've met! I haven't met any cats yet, but I think we could chill together. Everyone who meets me falls in love, which works out great for me because I love the attention!Being a puppy, I am still working on some of my basic commands, but I have "sit" nailed, I'm getting better and better at "down" when my foster mom doesn't want me on something or someone, and I usually know that when my foster mom whistles for me, I'm supposed to come to her! I'm told that I have very good manners, just have to be reminded of them sometimes. My foster dad has been working hard on getting me to understand fetch, and sometimes I totally get it and we have a lot of fun running back and forth after the ball! I do need lots of exercise so I would love it if my new family was very active and liked to take me out a lot.I do very well in my crate at night, or when home alone, or even just when I get a little too wound up and need some chill time. I go into my crate voluntarily, and often my foster mom gives me a kong with peanut butter, or a fluffle mat with treats and I chill out. My potty training has also come a long way. I still have the occasional accident in the house, often after getting really wound up with the resident dog, but for the most part, as long as I'm let out regularly, I am doing very well!I'm looking forward to finding the perfect match for me and getting settled into my furever home!Located in WhitbyHome requirements- a family with kids and another dog- a home with a backyard- someone who has the ability to be home or have someone let him out during the day ( potty training)
