Princess is heartworm positive and will be treated by our rescue. Princess is well behaved and housetrained. She has been gentle with cats and calm around other dogs. She’s eager to please and wants to be near humans more than anything else. She loves car rides and meeting new people. She's just learning to play, and a calm home environment will allow her the rest and relaxation she needs as she undergoes this treatment. June A18571442 lb. spayed female, approx 2 years old -This peanut can be submissive and nervous in new situations-She will army crawled and flipped over to give you her belly-She wouldn’t take treats initially but once comfortable she decided they were yummy! She knows how to sit and she takes snacks very nicely.-She loves to curl up close for cuddles-She wasn’t interested in a tennis ball which seemed to scare her but she did perk up with a stuffie. She started pouncing around on it and played tug with me for a little bit. She is still learning that she doesn’t always need to be doing something. She enjoys walks, sniffing new places, playing tug, chewing on her favorite toys, and soaking up attention. She loves to tell you to continue petting her by gently pawing at you. She’s also a big fan of treats (especially a pup cup!).She’s smart, food-motivated, and eager to learn. She already knows sit, shake, down, and spin, and she’s currently working on stay. She’s also making great progress with loose-leash walking and responds very well to positive reinforcement. Like many young dogs, she gets excited on walks, so continued puppy training and consistency will help her become an even better walking companion. She also does fantastic in a crate and is fully potty trained. She’s currently living with three resident cats and has been doing great. She occasionally needs a gentle reminder that cats don’t play the same way dogs do, but she’s been learning to respect their boundaries with guidance and supervision.Like many young dogs, she can become curious if left unattended, so she’ll do best with appropriate chew toys, continued training, and supervision as she matures. Citrus was living alone in an abandoned house with no doors or windows. We trapped her, and she got very upset. Citrus was growling for many many days, and did not allow any handling. She finally came around to trust us, and is now a loving sweetheart. Citrus wants an understanding foster-to-adopt home, who wants to baby her. She is estimated to be 2-4 years old, and a mix between English Bulldog and Boxer. Citrus has a classic cautious and disapproving yet personable English Bulldog personality, and the silly play style of a Boxer. We are looking for a household without children for Citrus. Leashed walks are fine, she does not require a fenced in yard. Citrus has dog friends at the shelter - but incorporating her into a home dynamic with other dogs will take weeks.
