Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.NJSpade is a gorgeous Boxer Pittie mix who needs a new home without other dogs.  Spade is about 1.5 years old. He is a friendly, happy, wiggly-butt with people and plays with the other 3 dogs in his current home when outside.  He meets some new dogs on a leash very well, but can be reactive to others.  He is housebroken and good in the car, and loves his squeaky toys!  Spade is a big lap dog and LOVES to sleep under a blanket.  He is good with children, but because he can get excited when meeting would be best with bigger kids.  He loves to play in water outside! Spade can be left alone without being crated with no issues.  He has no experience with indoor cats.  Spade is neutered and UTD on all vaccines. Spade does have some anxiety which is being managed with Prozac. He will make a fun and great companion to a family with no other pets.  A fenced in yard would be appreciated.  Spade is available for foster or adoption, or foster-to-adopt. His adoption donation is $500.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 22, 2026, 9:53 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Mochie is a goofy pup who is currently with our partner rescue in Louisiana but hoping to come to NJ soon. We do offer a foster-to-adopt trial to approved adopters. Meet Mochie  Big dog energy? Check. Goofy personality? Absolutely. Heart of gold? 100%. Mochie is a Boxer/Lab mix who brings the fun wherever she goes. She’s the kind of girl who will make you laugh daily with her silly antics and oversized personality. When she plays, she plays hard—and she’s not shy about it! Mochie is very vocal during playtime which can surprise people at first, but it’s just her way of expressing pure joy. Don’t let her playful side fool you—this girl knows how to settle. Mochie is both house-trained and kennel-trained, and she’s calm and content in her crate. She does best with space to burn off her energy and would absolutely love a home with another large, playful dog who can keep up with her style of fun. She gets along well with all the dogs in the rescue, but her enthusiastic play style means she’s best suited for a home that understands big dog energy and isn’t intimidated by her “talking” during play. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, loyal companion who will keep you smiling and fill your home with personality, Mochie might just be your girl. Mochie is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Her  adoption donation is $500. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 22, 2026, 9:53 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Ellie is with our partner rescue in LA and can come to NJ with an approved foster or adopter Meet Ellie — the sweetest little boxer beauty looking for her forever family!  At just over 2 years old, Ellie is the perfect medium-sized companion: gorgeous, affectionate, cuddly, and completely devoted to her people. She has never met a snuggle she didn’t love, a toy she didn’t want to play with, or a person she didn’t want to make smile. Ellie is dog-friendly, kid-friendly, house-trained, and knows her manners! She is eager to please and would love a family who will appreciate her sweet nature, playful spirit, and love of being close to her people. Whether she’s playing with her favorite toys, soaking up attention, or curling up for a cozy cuddle session, Ellie is happiest right by your side. We’re still unsure how Ellie feels about cats, so a cat-free home or a careful introduction would be best. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal, playful best friend with a heart as beautiful as her face, Ellie may be your girl.  Ellie is up-to-date on vaccines and will complete her heartworm treatment prior to coming to NJ. She has been spayed and has a microchip.  Her adoption fee is $500. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. Not good with dogs, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Becca came to the shelter as a stray, so everything we know about her, we've learned since she arrived. We estimate she's about 3 years old, gave her a name, and watched her slowly begin to trust the people caring for her. Once Becca settles in, her sweet personality shines through. She forms strong bonds with the staff and volunteers who spend time with her, and it's clear she just wants love and companionship. When Becca was spayed, our veterinary team discovered and removed a large ovarian tumor. The findings strongly suggest cancer, and unfortunately, there is little we can do for her while she's in the shelter. Right now, our priority isn't treatment—it's giving Becca the chance to spend whatever time she has left in a home where she can be loved. Becca would do best as the only pet, as she has not done well with other dogs in the shelter environment. She urgently needs a rescue or adopter willing to open their heart to a dog who deserves so much more than a kennel. We don't know how much time Becca has, but we do know she deserves to spend it surrounded by kindness, comfort, and love.
