Story
Meet Ross, a 5- month old, 37 pound (as of 5/24) Boxer/Hound mix with a gorgeous white coat, funky spotted ears, and a shiny big black nose. What a total cutie-pie! Ross is cuddly, energetic, smart, and playful. Even at his tender young age, it’s clear Ross is destined for greatness. Friendly to all, Ross gets attached to people VERY easily. Affectionate and sweet, he loves belly rubs, being pet, and having his ears scratched. Ross enjoys going for walks and he’s doing really well with his leash manners…especially when he hears cheering and encouragement. Atta boy, Ross! Good boy, Ross! He’s also been working hard on his housebreaking skills, and with a little time and patience, he’ll have that nailed down too. He is eager to please and he lives for praise! And treats go a long way too! Yum yum! Ross is very adaptable and highly trainable. He already responds to the word no and is attentive and alert when it comes to following commands. Ross has an upbeat and enthusiastic personality, but he also has a mellow side and likes to settle in for a long nap when he’s good and tired…especially if there’s someone nearby to keep him company. Ross is a goofy, kind-hearted, people-oriented dog who will make a really swell companion for anyone seeking a young active dog with whom to share the joys of life. Of course, you cannot go wrong with Ross! ;-) If you would like to adopt this wonderful dog, please email rescue@pupstarzrescue.org or visit www.pupstarzrescue.org for an application **Puppies are hard work. If you are not ready for a 'new baby' please adopt an adult or senior who need you! PupStarz rescue cannot guarantee the breed, size, temperament, or age of any dog

Meet ELLA! a 4 year old 48 lb sweet boxer mix. She’s being fostered in the western Catskills (Livingston Manor, NY). She’s fully crate trained, loves her toys and stuffies and is very affectionate with her person! She is so ready for her forever family. Ella is very energetic and loves having regular exercise, she would make an excellent hiking buddy and is curious about her new country life. Ella is gaining her confidence and manners and will require a home with a seasoned dog person who can set her up for success. She has been a star student with a local trainer. Ella is great in the car and would make a wonderful road trip companion. She walks well on the leash. With proper introductions she warms up to new people, so does best in a home with not a lot of comings and going’s. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This handsome brindle boy is Dre! Born in 2012, Dre looks like a Boxer/Pit mix on a Boston Terrier frame...he really is the cutest little lowrider! He was rescued from a high kill NYC shelter where he found himself moments from euthanasia. Dre is wonderful with people of all ages and other dogs. No cats for him. Dre would do best with someone who is retired, or works from home, as he has separation anxiety. Dre takes medication daily for arthritis and does have some accidents in the home. He's waiting to be your new best friend.  If you would like to make Dre the love of your life, please fill out an adoption application here: http://www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org/general-application       RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Cloud is a spayed female Boxer mix rescued from a North Carolina kill shelter, emaciated and suffering from a life of neglect. Our veterinary partner estimates that Cloud was born in approximately 2017.  She is a beautiful little petite pixie - 45 pounds of dynamite: a big personality in a small package!  She's a total love bug and very affectionate with her people. Cloud is  house trained, crate trained, has great leash manners and knows basic commands. Extremely smart, Cloud learns quickly and is eager to please. A high- energy girl, she requires daily exercise and stimulation. A fenced-in yard is a must.  Cloud is  dog-selective and although she tends to do  well with large dominant male dogs who offer correction and leadership, she's not a fan of other females. She has a high prey drive, so no small dogs or cats for Cloud, thank you! Cloud must have a strong and confident leader. She is an absolute JOY, but not for a first-time dog owner or novice handler. She requires patience, direction and a family who will set her up for success and be vigilant in keeping her from bad situations. Her foster parents have worked with her on some food guarding tendencies, which result from her hungry times on the streets.  Cloud is a great cuddler and good napper.  Her forever home must be exceptional because she is an exceptional girl!   If you are the special person who can open your heart and give Cloud her happy ever after, please fill out an adoption application here: http://www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org/general-application  RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Nala, dumped at a SC shelter, was born in 2015 and now weighs about 45 lbs.  Nala is a total sweetheart and loves her people. She needs to be the queen of her castle, so no other dogs or cats please. Older kids would be fine. Her ideal home would be in the country, as she does not do well in a city environment. Nala loves to run after deer and other critters, so a fenced yard would be best.   She is spayed and up to date on vaccines. If you would like to adopt Nala, please put your application in here:  http://www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption.   Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Petal came to rescue from the Carolinas extremely emaciated at 9 years old and only 30 pounds, with ticks and fleas, and a couple of masses. She has been treated and is now up to her normal weight of 45 lbs.  Petal has bowed legs and arthritis which make it difficult for her to go up and down stairs.  She also suffers from recurring pancreatitis and requires special food.  Petal's perfect forever place will be a quiet home in the suburbs or rural area with a fenced yard and minimal stairs.  We don't know what Petal's life was like before we rescued her, but we know it was not good as she is scared of many things, including cars and noises.  Petal is a sweet, terrific dog who has so much love to give.  She just needs someone with pati ence and love who will understand her fears and work with her at her pace to overcome them.  If you are the special person who can make room in your heart and home for Petal, please apply online to adopt this senior beauty at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org RDR's adoption fees include the cost of spay/neuter/microchip at an RDR-approved facility, whether completed before adoption or if deferred because the pet is too young or has a medical issue.  All pets are also current on age-appropriate vaccines at the time of adoption.   Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   SLINKY-Girl was transferred to GaDaH from a high kill shelter in Texas on 22nd April 2023. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue  YouTube channel  and  photo albums on our Facebook page  to see a LOT of pictures and videos.      SLINKY-Girl is spayed rabies, core vaccines, heartworm/tick tested negative. She is on monthly prevention, microchipped, has an estimated date of birth of 8 January 2023 and at the time of transport weighed 18.4 pounds. We have no way of knowing what the actual breed is, so it is up to people to look at the pictures and video's to make up their own mind. SLINKY-Girl is available for adoption from Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine for an adoption fee of $550.       This adoption fee covers the cost of running a brick and mortar rescue as well as any transport, veterinary, food,   treats, toys costs and the many expenses that rescues endure to keep the pets in their care safe, and happy.     Be sure to read all the information and if interested, go to the rescue website to submit an adoption application. https://www.giveadogahome-rescue.org/forms/form?formid=5838 The rescue buys food in bulk, by the truck load and there are a variety of brands and flavors. None of the food given is less than a 4* food rating. There have not been issues with eating any of the varying foods. It is important that you do your research on the ingredients and speak to your vet or a nutritionist on grain vs grain free! &#226&#128&#139You MUST understand that dogs need time to decompress and adapt to their new environment and home. It is a HUGE transition they make from the kill shelter, being vetted, on transport for 3 days and arriving in Maine where the temperature and such is very different to what they have only known. In rescue there is what is known as the "3 Point Rule" Days 1-3 your dog is stressed, anxious, confused as to where they are now. Weeks 1-3 your dog is adjusting, settling in, learning things. At the 3-month point, your dog understands they are home, and have built up a trusting relationship where they feel loved and secure. If you feel that you have the heart and home to give this precious soul a wonderful life, please go to our website, under the ADOPTION INFO tab, complete, then submit the APPLICATION. Our process takes around 1-2 days, and ensuring your references are aware that we will be calling, could speed up the process. Once you have been approved, we discuss any questions in regards to the dog you are wanting to adopt, then we can schedule your appointment to come to the rescue in Sebec, Maine for meet/greet/adopt Please do NOT submit an application if you are not looking to take home a new best friend within the next few weeks. https://www.giveadogahome-rescue.org/forms/form?formid=5838 ALL Dogs are LOCATED AT THE RESCUE IN SEBEC, MAINE. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx. 8 miles) and approx. 45 miles from Bangor. There are also lots of hotels, motels, pet friendly accommodations and wonderful camp-sites for the more adventurous families and what a great way to get to know your new best friend.
