Story
Meet Rebel, a 2-3 month old boxer mix with the cutest ears and a personality that melts hearts. Weighing in at just 8 lbs, Rebel may be small, but his spirit is boundless. He was found abandoned at a construction site with his sister. We are thrilled someone took pity on them; taking care of them until we could step in to help. Without food, water, and shelter, survival was impossible. This little guy adores playing with his fur friends and cuddling up close, yet he’s also content to spend quiet moments on his own—no crazy barking, just peaceful tail wags. The perfect little pup!! Rebel’s happiest moments are when he’s surrounded by love, whether it’s from humans or fellow pups. His gentle nature makes him a joy to be around, and his wagging tail is always ready to greet you. We dare you not to smile once you lay eyes on this sweet, fun pup. Now, Rebel is looking for his forever home—a place where he can share his playful energy and affectionate cuddles with a family who will cherish him. If you’re seeking a loyal companion with a joyful spirit, Rebel is ready to bring warmth and happiness into your life. We hope a forever family will see the wonderful spirit Rebel has and give him the loving home he deserves.

Story
Ethan - 4.5 months & 14lbs, Boxer/Terrier Mix, Spayed Estimated to be about 40lbs full grown Our Team Says: Ethan is an incredibly lucky parvo survivor! No long term health implications just bragging rights!  This dog is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org Level of dog ownership experience required:INTERMEDIATE – This dog will need significant structure and plenty of daily exercise, training, and mental stimulation – 90 consecutive minutes of movement in the morning plus potty break walks and brain games throughout the day. The adopter must have relevant primary care experience with a similar breed, temperament, and/or energy level. (Primary care experience includes ownership, fostering, or dog sitting as an adult, not a dog you grew up with.) Energy level:MEDIUM – Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Okay in the city?We don’t know yet because this pup is brand new to us. Most adult dogs do well in the city after they’ve had time to adjust to a new environment, but some never adapt and need homes in the burbs.  Potty trained?Probably! Adults usually are, but all will have transitional accidents for the first week or so. A consistent walking route and schedule plus finding spots with grass or dirt can help. Social with other dogs?Yes, but we don’t know to what degree yet. Some like to wrestle with every passing pup, others can coexist well but prefer to keep to themselves. We’ll learn more soon. Social with cats? Not sure yet! Some breed mixes that are generally NOT great matches for homes with cats include large hounds, huskies, and shepherds.  Comfortable with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision)We’re not sure yet, but we try to err on the side of caution. Respectful kids ages 8 and up are probably a safe bet. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age carefully.  Medical status:Healthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm tested if coming from Tennessee or Puerto Rico; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake How did this dog end up with Social Tees? Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee, Los Angeles, and Puerto Rico. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses. This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes. LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org and Instagram @socialteesnyc ##2709532##

Story
This handsome boy will be joining us soon and we can't wait for everyone to meet him. Sugar Ray is a sweet pup who can be a little shy and timid at first, but warms up quickly and once he does his playful and loving personality shines through. Sugar Ray is doing very well with structure and routine. He is comfortable with crating and continues to adjust nicely. He has been friendly with everyone he has met especially other dogs. Sugar Ray is a survivor of cruelty, and you can still see a small scar around his neck from a collar in his past. Because of his difficult start, he is extremely happy for his food and is very motivated by treats as well. Despite what he has been through, Sugar remains gentle, kind, and eager to trust. With patience, love, and a safe home, Sugar will blossom into an incredible companion. We are so excited to help him find the happy future he deserves. Stay tuned for more updates on this tiny special boy.
