Duke 's Story Duke is a 10-year-old Boxer with a heart as big as his blocky head. Weighing in at about 65 pounds, this handsome senior found himself in our care after his owner experienced a family hardship and could no longer keep him. Despite the changes in his life, Duke remains a gentle, resilient soul who is ready to start his next chapter with a loving family. At some point in his life, Duke may have suffered a stroke, which left him with facial paralysis on one side of his face. The good news is that it doesn’t slow him down one bit—he eats, drinks, and enjoys life just like any other dog. In fact, his lopsided grin only adds to his unique and charming good looks. Duke enjoys getting out for walks and exploring the world around him. He can pull a bit on the leash, so he may benefit from some structure and guidance in this area, but he’s eager to please and would do well with someone willing to work with him. He’s a friendly guy who gets along well with other dogs and has even shown that he’s okay with cats, making him a great candidate for many different types of homes. Duke has been through a lot, but his spirit is strong and his heart is full of love to give. Looking to surrender my dog, Luna, due to unforeseen circumstances. Unfortunately, I can no longer provide the care she deserves. Luna has been a part of our family since we rescued her from Riley Rescue, and she will be turning 3 on April 7th. Luna is a wonderful dog who is great with kids, including my two little ones, aged 7 and 5. She is friendly but primarily enjoys the company of people. She is house-trained and was crated when I used to leave for work. It breaks my heart to make this decision, but I believe it’s in her best interest to find a loving home where she can thrive.

Despite his size, he is convinced he’s a lap dog and will happily drape himself across you for cuddle time. Lexa walked through our door about three months ago. She was fixed at SPCA in July of 2025. We think she's about 1-2 years old. Lexa got along with the rest of the pack right away. The neighborhood kids and my grandson love her. She tends to nip when she's excited and jump. Lexa is house broken. She will let you know when it's time for a walk, if you're home. Lexa does walk on a leash and pulls a lot. Lexa really loves to snuggle! Anywhere and anytime. She seems to have had some training. She knows hand signals well and also listens to verbal commands.
