Story
Mikey is our 1 1/2 year old Boxer mix (we have his DNA results!) Who was found as a stray on someone's property and brought here. He's a gentle soul, just out of puppyhood who loves snuggling up for pets, tossing his toys around and especially playing with other dogs. He's a star in the playgroups who display's appropriate boundaries while running around with other dogs. During his time with a foster family, he learned to be respectful of the senior dog there and happily shared his toys with no resource guarding (including food!) Mikey is enthusiastic with toys when playing with people, so he's learning to wait and take toys on cue. Mikey can be reactive on leash, especially in new places, so we suggest continued training in his new home. His foster reported that he enjoyed baths (including the dryer) and has been a dream riding in the car. We hear he mastered house training quickly in his foster home, indicating when he needed to go out. He is a smart, energetic dog who learns commands quickly and is crate trained. Although he would thrive living with another dog, over all, Mikey would do well in a home that provides structure with fun activities including walks and playtime with other dogs. Story
Myna is a senior land seal in need of a foster or adopter! She is about 55lbs, has a stunning black, white, and brindle coat, and is the most happy go lucky girl you will encounter. Literally, nothing puts a frown on this girl’s wrinkled jowley face! Likely a boxer mix, this salt and peppered girl has the energy and life force of a pup! So, don't let her age fool you- Myna is the fountain of youth in compact pup form! She is about 9 years young, but you will have a lifetime of love from her! Consider her as providing you with 9 years of experience in love and wiggles. That is hard to come by! A true girl scout, Myna is prepared for anything with her favorite stuffie always by her side. Myna loves to carry around a stuffie and prefers playtime to naptime. However, hit the couch with her and this bouncy girl is ready to snuggle. Myna would thrive in an active home. Since entering our care, she tends to ignore other dogs. So, she could be the only pet, or share the love with the right dog sibling. She loves people, playing fetch, and learning new commands. Eager to please and food motivated, Myna is a quick study in all things dog-fu. Unfortunately, we don't know what her life was like before the shelter. She was a stray that found herself at the city shelter. We are looking for a patient and understanding foster or adopter who can help Myna adjust to life in a loving home. For the time being, Myna would prefer your only pup or join forces with a patient and easy going dog. We do think she would love to be the center of your world. Myna has big dreams for her golden years and she hopes to spend them with you! If interested in fostering or adopting Myna, please complete an application, which can be found on our website at www.twentypawsrescue.com/forms-applications. Please note that due to an email glitch, sometimes emails get lost. We respond to all emails so if you don't hear back from us, please follow up!

Story
Remember walking into a room and seeing that quiet, unbelievably stunning person, and thinking ‘who is that’? That’s the reaction our handsome Dutch illicits at first meeting. Dutch joined us at 3 years old after living his entire life with a family he loved which included children and 3 small dogs However he seems ot not like dogs in his face now. We’re told that Dutch loves car rides, likes to play fetch, and is hesitant with new people. We’ve seen how incredibly loving he can be as he gets excited when he sees his human friends he has learnt to trust , giving kisses and lots of tail wags. When he loves it’s with every fiber of his being. Dutch is a perfect gentleman on leash, is very housetrained, and enjoys being out for walks and playtime. He strikes us a deep thinker, always watchful as he surveys his environment. Dutch will thrive in a calm household, with people who understand his need to decompress and feel safe. There is no better compliment than being loved by Dutch. Dutch is neutered, up to date with vaccinations, microchipped and ready to find a new person or family to take care of.
