Story
Meet Harry, a 3 year young, 50 lb, male boxer-mix bursting with playfulness and curiosity, always ready for adventure and eager to explore the world around him. With a friendly disposition Harry is a true social butterfly. Despite his independent streak, he's working hard to polish his social manners, while already excelling in his leash walking skills. With some focused training he should quickly learn basic commands, and he takes treats gently. Harry is very friendly with everyone, and even the few dogs he has met while with us. If you are interested in meeting Harry, please complete a Dog Adoption Interest form; an adoption counselor will contact you to answer any questions and schedule an appointment.April 16, 2024, 5:10 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. POPPERS was saved from a kill shelter in Georgia and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 30 October 2023. POPPERS is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. He has an estimated date of birth of January 2023 and on has an estimated weight of 33 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue      YouTube channel      and      photo albums on our Facebook page      to see a LOT of pictures and videos. POPPERS is an absolute sweetheart, brimming with affection and love with the sweetest, gentle "old soul" type personality. He can come across like a couch potato but he loves to run and wrestle with his friends. When he was in the kennels he did gain some weight, which now he is more active he is losing them - but it is important for his family to be aware to keep him active to keep those dangerous pounds off. POPPERS is a top favourite with everyone he meets. He is a hard chewer of toys and anything other than tough chewing toys he will destroy - red kongs are like scooby snacks to him lol He has been around adults of all ages, shapes and sizes, small children and people with special needs and was gentle and loving.  He is responsive and is happy to show anyone he meets lots of love. He does need an active family who will ensure he gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that he needs to live a happy fulfilling life. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. POPPERS is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a  reduced adoption  fee of $3 50. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - As the dogs are in the kennels, we are not able to say how they are with cats. She has an estimated date of birth of 1 February 2024 and in April 2024 weighed of 8 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. This sweet girl is still a baby and so we are looking for families who understand how much work puppies are, who are able to ensure he gets all the socialization she needs, the training, routine and structure to give her the right start to his wonderful life ahead of her. LADY is such a confident pup who will jump on my leg whilst walking by her, grab my shoe, and then settle down and join her puppy friends in a mandatory puppy pile nap. She is affectionate and loving, but does play rough. Story
This gorgeous girl is a little shy and will need slow introductions at first and patience. Once she warms up she is very loving and her favorite thing to do is snuggle up close. New situations and places make her nervous so she would do best in a quiet home without much traffic and no small children. I think she would prefer a home body or a mellow couple with dog experience. She is about 2-3 yrs old so she is still very playful and loves running in the fenced in yard. She would do best with a well adjusted calm medium/large k9 friend or would be fine as an only dog too. No cats and no farm animals as she does have a high prey drive. She is about 40 pounds, house trained, up to date on core vaccines, microchipped and spayed. Interested in adopting me?  To fill out an application visit 3 Hearts 4 Paws.  Please note: we generally do not adopt out of state unless it is within 1-2 hours of us.  Currently due to COVID we are unable to accommodate out of state adoptions.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 14, 2024, 10:09 pm

Story
Meet Handsome Butkus! We are not sure if he is one of those rare/non-existent Black Boxer or there is another breed in him. What we do know that he looks and acts like a typical Boxer and he will steal your heart with silly antics and his sweet expressive face. For no fault of his poor Butkus was at a crowded no kill local shelter for over 2 years and was developing kennel anxiety due to long stay at the shelter. Bully breeds are affectionate dogs who need human companionship and do not do well in solitary confinement. Hence, our rescue got him out and we are hoping a right family will take Butkus home soon. Butkus is an affectionate and a very playful dog. He is a best cuddle buddy while watching TV on the couch. He loves to sleep right next to you under the blanket. Like a typical bully breed, he is a quite dog and rarely barks. He is estimated to be over 3 yrs. old, compact and athletic built at around 60 pounds. He loves long walks and walks well on an Easy Walk harness. However, we are working on teaching him to curb his enthusiasm when he sees another dog. He is a smart dog who knows basic commands and very treat motivated and hence easy to train. Although with that cute underbite and those big puppy eyes he does get away with things sometimes. We are looking for someone who is committed to continue Butkus's training. He is friendly and social while meeting people but selective with dogs. He is very playful and loves his toys and bones. He has been around other dogs but would do best as an only dog since he is not good at sharing his stuff with other dogs. Because of his exuberance a home without cats and small children is recommended. A family that has experience with large dogs is a must. A home where someone is home most of the time would be best as Butkus doesn't like being alone for long period of time. He is up to date on all vaccinations, neutered and microchipped and ready to go home with you! Please email Rescuewithoutborders@gmail.com for more information. Start your new year right by making this loving dog a part of your family!!!

Story
Meet Willa, an enchanting three-year-old female boxer mix with a striking all-black coat. Weighing approximately 45 pounds, Willa possesses a perfect balance of elegance and strength. This beautiful girl is currently in search of her forever home and is hoping to find an experienced handler who can meet her unique needs. Willa is already house broke and crate trained, showcasing her commitment to being a well-mannered companion. She understands the importance of following house rules and is eager to please her future family. With her glossy black coat and soulful eyes, Willa exudes a captivating charm that is hard to resist. She enjoys the company of her humans and thrives in a solo dog and adult-only home. This setting allows her to receive the undivided attention and care she deserves, fostering a deep bond with her dedicated handler. While Willa may require an experienced handler, her loyalty and affection are well worth the effort. She craves guidance and structure, and with the right person, she will blossom into a devoted and obedient companion. In return, she promises to shower her chosen family with endless love and unwavering devotion. If you believe you have the necessary experience and understanding to be Willa's perfect match, we encourage you to reach out today. Provide this sweet girl with the stable and nurturing home she needs, and you will be rewarded with a loyal and lifelong companion. For consideration, please fill out an application using the following link: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Sweet as sugar, dark like chocolate...Hailey’s sweet and friendly nature will melt your heart!
