Story
Contact foster at ksblanks34@gmail.com- Came in with a fractured leg but he doesn’t let that dampen his spirits- He is a happy-go-lucky boy, looking for a safe spot to continue recovery- Super sweet + treat motivated- Typical puppy energy + continue to practive basic obedience training and consistency- Loves toys, belly rubs + snuggling on the sofa- Sillest boy who jumped right inside the toy bin and had the time of his life- Happiest by your side, staying close and following you around- Learning `sit` and `lay down` which he does very well when there are no distractions and is getting better during outings. Tommy gets anxious/over excited in new environments but does very, very well with the command `chill` in a soothing voice. Does experience seperation anxiety but settles in after 10-20 minutes depending on the day.I found that guiding him to `chill` over the camera`s microphone helps this a lot. He is alert and can be reactive when responding to noises and people he sees/hears around my apartment building. His reactivity can range from: stiff body/low growl/lunging/barking. This is especially when first going outside(much better with this the further we get from the door), at drive-thru workers, or when other dogs start growling at introduction. He does well during outings. He has made great friends with a few neighbors. There have been postitive interactions with other dogs as well where he enjoys running around and taking turns playing chase. Tommy will benefit from continuing to work with a trainer regarding his reactivity. Though he has experienced dog parks, it is not the best idea for him. We went to PetSmart yesterday for socialization and after the initial overexcitement, he settled into the environment and was just super curious/interested in everything around him!He has improved from his leash biting tendancy by working on no mouth use and learning to play in appropriate ways.He is very treat motivated, which is helping the training!

Contact my foster at natalielange@msn.comTrent is an easygoing & loving companion looking for someone to share their home and heart with. Medium Energy Level (does not require a lot of exercise but does enjoy a daily walk or play session)Gentle and affectionate Potty trainedCrate trainedDoing wonderfully with his three foster dog siblings of various sex and sizes (still recommend proper and slow introductions)  Great car rider and enjoys going on adventuresHas been non-reactive to people, bikes and dogs that he has encountered on the greenways and trailsGets excited to see new dogs but is easily refocusedHas been respectful of human and dog boundaries in the homeHighly treat motivated which has made him fun to trainLoves: couch naps, laying in the sunshine, kongs, heavy duty chew toys, being close to his people and fur friends, affection, SNACKSDislikes: mud puddlesHas a minor neurological deficit that causes a slight head tilt to the left. The shelter has not done diagnostics on what is behind this, but it certainly gives him an adorable lookTrent would thrive in a home that appreciates a dog who is past the puppy stage and ready for consistent, loving companionship.Trent has been overly interested in neighborhood cats.  Possibly best in a home with no cats or at least very very slow introductionsTrent is a happy guy but sometimes doesn’t recognize his size or strength.  He may do best in a home with no young children.

Story
**Please contact the foster at, CECILCLANCY@GMAIL.COM**My name is Captain Steve. A volunteer gave me that name because of my hook-shaped tail. My tail has a funny shape but I like that no one else has one like it. I wag it like crazy when I meet new people. I have been in a foster home for two months, which has been really nice after wandering around Charlotte and ending up at the animal shelter. I don’t know why my first family left me out on my own, because it seems like they loved me. They taught me things like Sit and Fetch. In my foster home I have also learned new things like Wait and Stay and Down and Drop it. I have a dog foster sibling who is a lot older than I am. I know she can’t play with me but we curl up near each other on the couch. I have a cat foster sibling who I don’t chase. I like watching her come and go but I give her her space. I have a lot of self control! I like being a good boy. I never have accidents in the house. I go to the door if I need to go out and my foster parents walk me 2-3 times a day. I like short walks, long walks, trips to breweries and coffee shops. Everywhere we go I get extra attention and I love that! I don’t bark at other dogs because I am a gentleman. On walks I love picking up sticks of all sizes. I like playing with dogs my size who run fast and play hard. At home, I like gnawing on nylabones and antlers and taking the fluff and squeakers out of stuffed animals. I don’t destroy anything that isn’t a dog toy. I also am really good at napping. I like my crate, especially at bedtime after my last outing; I just go right in and flop down and sleep in there all night. During the day, I want to be with my people but if they have to leave I know it’s crate time, and that’s ok. My foster family is surprised I haven’t found my forever home yet, because I am so good. But I know it’s because the right home hasn’t found me yet. I’m waiting for people who will appreciate my adorable face, my soft fur, my excellent listening skills, my playfulness equal to my chill, and all my other attributes! To sum up, I’m:House trained and crate trainedGreat in the carNon-reactive around dogs and catsQuick to learn: I already know Sit, Down, Stay, Wait, Drop itGood for baths and hardly shedA nice combo of playful and relaxed (especially for a young dog)

Story
My name is Miss Debbie. I rescued Marley from a family member who is now homeless. I, however, am not physically/financially able to sustain Marley as well. I'm trying to find him a new forever Home. Marley is 8 years old boxer/golden retriever mix. He doesn't have floppy lips so he doesn't drool. Marley grew up in the household with only one owner. I feel he would benefit from having a new family with big fur/human brothers and sisters to play with. Bc he loves lots of hugs and kisses. He is a house dog and is house broken. But has not been neutered. He doesn't chew or destroy the furniture. He is calm inside the house. He likes to sit at your feet while watching TV and sleep at the foot of the bed. He is very polite and often tries to communicate with you. He does enjoy long walks and loves car rides. fireworks scare him. I don't have the money to purchase Marley a bed or a proper walking harness. And am seeking help from the Charlotte humane society to get him neutered.

Story
Hi, I’m Hugh! I’m a 4-year-old pittie/boxer mix with a big heart and an even bigger smile. Everyone who meets me says I’m the sweetest boy. I’ve never met a stranger, and I especially love kids! Life wasn’t always easy for me, but I’m making up for lost time with all the love and energy I have to share. I’m neutered, crate trained, and fully up to date on my vaccines. I am heartworm positive, but some of the cost of treatment will be covered to help my future family get me healthy. Here’s what you should know about me: • Super people-friendly (love, love, love attention) • Kid-approved • High energy — I’m always ready for fun • Crate trained • Playful with dogs (I come in a little hot, but I just want to make friends) • No cats, please! I’m looking for a family who can give me the exercise, structure, and love I’ve been waiting for. If you’re ready for a loyal companion with lots of love to give, I’d love to meet you!

Story
Meet Java  – Your Favorite Barista with a Side of Sass!  Don’t let the resting”Pit” face fool you—Java is all heart and full of love! This stunning pittie mama has raised a whole litter of deliciously adorable “cups of Joe” pups  (Joe, Jose, and Joey to name a few) who have all found their forever homes. Now it’s her turn to clock out of the mom shift and find a couch of her own. Java’s been brewing her signature charm at StarPups Coffee, where she’s the resident barista and queen of the counter. She is the perfect blend of warm and dignified energy. Her regulars are received with an enthusiastic tail wag, but if your order includes six pumps of anything…cue the judgmental eye roll! She’ll tolerate other pups like she tolerates weak coffee—with a sigh and a glance toward the door. She much prefers people, but isn’t bitter about dog company, just indifferent!  ‍ Personality Blend: Bold roast with a no-nonsense aroma Warms up quickly to her human Low drama, high standards  Perks of Adopting Java: House-trained Expert napper Silent judge of your coffee order Always dressed for work (look at that natural eyeliner and caramel coat!) Java would love to hang up her barista apron (because honestly, queens don’t work) and instead visit coffee shops with you so you can people watch and gossip.  Apply today for your forever coffee date! ##2448108##
