Meet Bernie! Bernie is a 6-year-old mixed breed weighing about 45 pounds, and he is truly the best of both worlds. He has enough pep to make fetch, walks, and playtime fun, but he also knows the fine art of a good nap and a cozy cuddle.He is playful, goofy, affectionate, and always happy to be near his people. Bernie is wonderful with other dogs and has been gentle and sweet with people of all ages, including children. He is crate trained, potty trained, quick to learn, and an easy house guest who is thriving in his foster home routine right away. Bernie would do best in a home without cats. He is also doing great in our Bark and Heal program with kids. Bernie is learning new skills, practicing how to manage his excitement, and showing everyone what a loving, teachable, special guy he is. Bernie is looking for a forever family who will toss the ball, celebrate his silly side, enjoy his cuddles, and love him like he deserves.

Contact foster at ksblanks34@gmail.com- Has an old injury on his front let- He is a happy-go-lucky boy- Super sweet + treat motivated- Has puppy energy and would benefit from continued practive of basic obedience training and consistency- Loves toys, belly rubs + snuggling on the sofa- Sillest boy who jumped right inside the toy bin and had the time of his life- Happiest by your side, staying close and following you around- Learning `sit` and `lay down` which he does very well when there are no distractions and is getting better during outings. Tommy gets anxious or overexcited in new environments, but he responds very well to the “chill” command when it’s given in a soothing voice. He does experience some separation anxiety, though he typically settles within 10–20 minutes depending on the day. Guiding him to “chill” through the camera microphone has also been helpful.He is alert and can be reactive to noises and people around the apartment building. His reactivity can include a stiff body, low growl, barking, or lunging—especially when first stepping outside (he improves the farther he gets from the door), at drive-thru workers, or when another dog growls at him during introductions. His foster reports that this reactivity toward strangers, other dogs, and loud bangs in and around the home is getting a lot better. During outings, he continues to do very well. He has made great friends with a few neighbors and has had positive interactions with other dogs, enjoying running around and taking turns playing chase. He wants to play with any dog who will have him. While he has experienced dog parks, they are not the best option for him right now. On a recent trip to PetSmart for socialization, he was initially overexcited but settled in and became curious and interested in everything around him. He has improved with his leash-biting tendency by working on “no mouth” and learning more appropriate ways to play. He is very treat-motivated, which is helping his training tremendously. Tommy will benefit from continued work with a trainer regarding his reactivity, but he is making meaningful progress and showing great potential.

Teddy also had trouble walking. Despite his poor health, Teddy has been thriving in foster! He is eating 3 small meals a day of puppy food and slowly gaining weight. He loves treats and snuggles! He hasn’t met a person he doesn’t love! Despite being deprived of love and care, Teddy is the most gentle soul. He just wants to be loved and will be a faithful companion. He loves being near you while you cook, do puzzles, fold laundry, garden, read, drink coffee…he enjoys all the simple pleasure in life. Teddy is quiet and rarely barks. He is crate and potty trained. He loves walks and is amazing on leash. This sweet boy will be an amazing addition to any family!

Bella is a 10-year-old Boxer with a heart as big as her goofy personality. She truly is our little miracle. When she was young, she was diagnosed with renal failure and we were told she likely wouldn’t live past 1–2 years old. Against all odds, Bella has continued to thrive and has spent the last decade proving everyone wrong. Even at 10 years old, Bella is still full of life. She loves spending time outside, whether she’s exploring the yard, soaking up the sunshine, or playing with her favorite people. She’s also a world-class cuddler and is happiest curled up next to someone she loves after a fun day. Like any true Boxer, Bella has the sweetest, silliest personality. One of our favorite things about her is her famous “kidney bean dance”—that wiggly, whole-body Boxer greeting she does whenever she’s excited to see you. It never fails to make us smile.

I adopted Sasha after finding her at a car service center when I went for a car inspection in November 2025. They were going to have animal control pick her up, so I took her. She is approximately 2 years old according to dental. She has been spayed, up-to-date on all of her shots and on a Banfield Pet Plan. She has been a great companion and is very loving. I have a small home, and I am gone 12 hours a day, so she isn't getting the attention she so deserves. She has a lot of energy and very self-entertained when I am home with throwing her toys to herself. She is allergic to chicken. Ideally, I'd like her adopter to have space for her to run and time to spend with her. She doesn't do well with dogs the same size or larger than her. She seems to love little dogs though. I've never had her around cats. She does well on short walks but gets easily distracted and enjoys the time out. Make sure to have plenty of durable toys. She doesn't chew anything else, but she will destroy toys.
