Contact my foster at natalielange@msn.comTrent is an easygoing & loving companion looking for someone to share their home and heart with. Medium Energy Level (does not require a lot of exercise but does enjoy a daily walk or play session)Gentle and affectionate Potty trainedCrate trainedDoing wonderfully with his three foster dog siblings of various sex and sizes (still recommend proper and slow introductions)  Great car rider and enjoys going on adventuresHas been non-reactive to people, bikes and dogs that he has encountered on the greenways and trailsGets excited to see new dogs but is easily refocusedHas been respectful of human and dog boundaries in the homeHighly treat motivated which has made him fun to trainLoves: couch naps, laying in the sunshine, kongs, heavy duty chew toys, being close to his people and fur friends, affection, SNACKSDislikes: mud puddlesHas a minor neurological deficit that causes a slight head tilt to the left. The shelter has not done diagnostics on what is behind this, but it certainly gives him an adorable lookTrent would thrive in a home that appreciates a dog who is past the puppy stage and ready for consistent, loving companionship.Trent has been overly interested in neighborhood cats.  Possibly best in a home with no cats or at least very very slow introductionsTrent is a happy guy but sometimes doesn’t recognize his size or strength.  He may do best in a home with no young children.

Story
**Please contact the foster at, CECILCLANCY@GMAIL.COM**My name is Captain Steve. A volunteer gave me that name because of my hook-shaped tail. My tail has a funny shape but I like that no one else has one like it. I wag it like crazy when I meet new people. I have been in a foster home for two months, which has been really nice after wandering around Charlotte and ending up at the animal shelter. I don’t know why my first family left me out on my own, because it seems like they loved me. They taught me things like Sit and Fetch. In my foster home I have also learned new things like Wait and Stay and Down and Drop it. I have a dog foster sibling who is a lot older than I am. I know she can’t play with me but we curl up near each other on the couch. I have a cat foster sibling who I don’t chase. I like watching her come and go but I give her her space. I have a lot of self control! I like being a good boy. I never have accidents in the house. I go to the door if I need to go out and my foster parents walk me 2-3 times a day. I like short walks, long walks, trips to breweries and coffee shops. Everywhere we go I get extra attention and I love that! I don’t bark at other dogs because I am a gentleman. On walks I love picking up sticks of all sizes. I like playing with dogs my size who run fast and play hard. At home, I like gnawing on nylabones and antlers and taking the fluff and squeakers out of stuffed animals. I don’t destroy anything that isn’t a dog toy. I also am really good at napping. I like my crate, especially at bedtime after my last outing; I just go right in and flop down and sleep in there all night. During the day, I want to be with my people but if they have to leave I know it’s crate time, and that’s ok. My foster family is surprised I haven’t found my forever home yet, because I am so good. But I know it’s because the right home hasn’t found me yet. I’m waiting for people who will appreciate my adorable face, my soft fur, my excellent listening skills, my playfulness equal to my chill, and all my other attributes! To sum up, I’m:House trained and crate trainedGreat in the carNon-reactive around dogs and catsQuick to learn: I already know Sit, Down, Stay, Wait, Drop itGood for baths and hardly shedA nice combo of playful and relaxed (especially for a young dog)

Story
My name is Miss Debbie. I rescued Marley from a family member who is now homeless. I, however, am not physically/financially able to sustain Marley as well. I'm trying to find him a new forever Home. Marley is 8 years old boxer/golden retriever mix. He doesn't have floppy lips so he doesn't drool. Marley grew up in the household with only one owner. I feel he would benefit from having a new family with big fur/human brothers and sisters to play with. Bc he loves lots of hugs and kisses. He is a house dog and is house broken. But has not been neutered. He doesn't chew or destroy the furniture. He is calm inside the house. He likes to sit at your feet while watching TV and sleep at the foot of the bed. He is very polite and often tries to communicate with you. He does enjoy long walks and loves car rides. fireworks scare him. I don't have the money to purchase Marley a bed or a proper walking harness. And am seeking help from the Charlotte humane society to get him neutered.

Story
Hi, I’m Hugh! I’m a 4-year-old pittie/boxer mix with a big heart and an even bigger smile. Everyone who meets me says I’m the sweetest boy. I’ve never met a stranger, and I especially love kids! Life wasn’t always easy for me, but I’m making up for lost time with all the love and energy I have to share. I’m neutered, crate trained, and fully up to date on my vaccines. I am heartworm positive, but some of the cost of treatment will be covered to help my future family get me healthy. Here’s what you should know about me: • Super people-friendly (love, love, love attention) • Kid-approved • High energy — I’m always ready for fun • Crate trained • Playful with dogs (I come in a little hot, but I just want to make friends) • No cats, please! I’m looking for a family who can give me the exercise, structure, and love I’ve been waiting for. If you’re ready for a loyal companion with lots of love to give, I’d love to meet you!

Story
Meet Genesis: Strong, Sweet, and Always Watching Out Genesis is a 110-pound brindle pitbull mix with a calm, wise soul and a heart full of quiet love. She and her brother Waffles were found beside their late owner, refusing to leave his side after he passed. Since that heartbreaking moment, Genesis has remained a steady, grounded presence—always looking out for those she loves. She’s independent and thoughtful, happy to lounge outside and watch the world go by. When she’s ready for affection, she’ll nudge you gently for pets and love. Genesis is fully potty trained, sleeps soundly through the night, and is content being home alone during the day. She doesn’t need constant attention—just a home that feels safe and a person she can trust. Genesis is used to being the “big sister”—sharing food, giving up her bed, and always checking in. Now, she’s ready for a home of her own, where she can soak up the spotlight and continue blossoming into her own. She walks well on leash, is food-motivated and trainable, and thrives in a peaceful environment. Like her brother, Genesis is selective with other dogs, so she may prefer to be your one and only pup—but with a heart like hers, she’ll be all you need. If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal companion with quiet strength and a big heart, Genesis is ready to start her next chapter—with you.

Story
Meet Waffles: A good boy, who's had it rough. Waffles is a 70-pound silver pitbull mix with the heart of a teddy bear. His story began with heartbreak—he and his sister Genesis were found keeping watch by their owner, who had passed away outside of his tent. Since then, Waffles has been in foster care, patiently waiting for a new chapter to begin. Waffles is a certified snuggler. He lives for love and affection—whether you’re relaxing on the couch or just passing by, he’s always up for some cuddles. He’s fully potty trained, sleeps well through the night, and is content when left home alone (especially if his dog bed is cozy and the vibes are calm). One of his favorite things? Bouncing up and down the stairs just for the fun of it. Recently, Waffles had a few low-grade mast cell tumors removed. He’s recovering beautifully and still full of joy, love, and curiosity. His adopters should be prepared to keep an eye on his skin and stay in touch with a vet for any future concerns—but for now, he’s doing great and loving life. Waffles does well on walks, enjoys the fresh air, and is food-motivated and trainable. He prefers to be the only dog in the home (unless carefully matched), but his affection for humans knows no bounds. If you’re looking for a deeply loyal, low-key companion with a heart full of love and a snuggle quota that never runs out—Waffles might just be your guy.
