Story
contact foster parent at nurse.danilou@gmail.com Hey ya’all, Chloe the boxer here. The shelter estimates me to be about 5 years old; I may be younger, but either way we all know boxers remain goofy high energy puppies their entire lives, right?! I am currently staying with my foster mom (FM) and my German Shepherd foster brother. I am settling in well, and FM has learned a bit about me that may be helpful to find me the right forever home. Well, apparently I have general anxiety and separation anxiety. At base line I am high strung and very in your face. When FM leaves for a lengthy period ie work I benefit from medication to help me get by. I do take anxiety medication daily to help manage my generalized anxiety. When FM is home I am happiest. I am deaf. I have not been successfully crated in foster care due to constant howling, and thrashing about in the crate and incontinence in the crate. ( I am housebroken otherwise) I am 100% housebroken using a doggie door to a securely fenced yard. I do not attempt to jump, climb or dig out of the yard. I have mastered getting into the car and behaving in the car. I have also mastered stairs. I act as though I were not a house pet in my former life, so I do not get on the furniture; so FM has left that alone for you to decide if you want me on the furniture or not. There are some challenges that I am working on. FM wants me to be honest about my limitations so that I am set up for success in my new family. First and foremost my FM believes I am either deaf or severely hearing impaired. This could account for my inability to make progress in the areas that follow. She is taking me back to the vet to find out if indeed I am hearing impaired; then she will change the way I am being trained to accommodate. I have no recall at all. In fact, I do not respond to any verbal calls / commands. After a full week and a half I still won’t even lift an ear when my name is yelled. I do not respond to any commands despite daily training. FM has tried teaching me “no”, sit, stay, come and up without success. The lack of recall means if I get out or fixate on something I cannot be stopped except by physical restraint; thus I must be securely on lead at all times when not enclosed. I can never be walked by a child or otherwise infirm or otherwise limited person. I jump on everyone. I will knock over children and elderly, or otherwise weakened, imbalanced individ

Story
My wife and I are moving overseas and are unable to take our dog, Scooby, with us. Here’s a little bit about Scooby: - He's 7.5 years old, trained, neutered & up-to-date with all of his vaccines - He's a mix of hound, boxer and shepherd (so basically a very healthy DNA mix, rarely gets sick) - He's amazing with kids and other dogs/puppies (but dislikes cats) - His favorite hobbies are playing catch, going on walks and tracking lizards in the back yard. - He's so calm at home that you might forget he's even there… especially if you work from home. - He’s very content by himself if you need to be in the office during the work week. - He loves to cuddle and press his weight on you when you pet him We're really sad to let him go. We just know the consistent long travel would not be great for him. That said, we'd be so happy for him if he found a loving new home.

These pups are in Mount Holly, North Carolina too!

Story
We love our Big Mack and have had a great 7 years with him! He is affectionate, and protective. He loves being outside and always enjoys having a toy in his mouth. He enjoys tug-of-war, and often wins because he’s strong. He knows basic commands, but can get distracted when excited. He loves a good belly rub, and to eat too. He gets excited by animals and people, but doesn’t do well around other pets. However, we have three small children, and Mack does great with them. As he has grown older and we have added another child to our home, his protective nature has changed a bit, likely due to being overstimulated and not receiving enough attention. When he is startled (sees a dog on a walk when not expecting to, sees someone come to the door, etc.), he has started to get defensive towards those around him - barking more at our other dog or at us versus what is startling him. Mack would thrive in a house with no other pets, and with owners who have an outdoor area.
