Story
Misty, a charming one-year-old female cat, was rescued from the streets of San Francisco. She has been patiently waiting for a loving home for several months but has yet to receive any applications. Misty is incredibly sweet and has a soft, plush coat that makes her irresistibly cuddly. She loves human interaction and enjoys gentle playtime. Additionally, she gets along well with other cats and small dogs, making her an excellent companion for multi-pet households. Misty is in good health, up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, and ready for her forever home. Please consider opening your heart to Misty—she is as sweet as sugar and is looking forward to bringing joy into her new family. Note: Misty was rescued with an eye injury resulting from an accident, which, although it does not impair her eye's function, has caused some cosmetic differences. Her remaining eye functions normally, but the injury has left her with a distinct appearance compared to her other eye. Story
Sophie is a sweet, 6-month-old calico kitten rescued from the streets of West Oakland just two weeks ago, and she’s ready to find her forever home where she can thrive and share her gentle spirit. Sophie has short, mostly white fur with gorgeous brown and black calico markings on her tail, face, and back and weighs approximately 7.5 lbs. Sophie is spayed, current on her vaccinations, and has tested negative for both FIV and FeLV. She has no special medical needs, and she is not declawed. Sophie has quickly adjusted to indoor life and is fully litter box trained with impeccable house manners—she’s never scratched furniture. Her personality shines through in her love for cuddling and snuggling right next to her humans, especially while they work. Sophie exchanges contented purrs for pets, often rubs affectionately against her caretakers, and gets adorable zoomies a few times each day, mostly in the evenings. She’s quite playful and enjoys toys like wands, small balls, and yarn. This sweet girl has interacted calmly with other cats and is steadily learning to coexist with dogs, hissing less each day as she gets more comfortable with her cockapoo housemates. While she hasn’t met young children yet, she’s proven to be adaptable and loving in her current indoor environment. Sophie has been living in the primary bedroom to help her adjust, and she’s doing wonderfully in a cozy, safe space. She loves Nulo Puree Lickable Cat Packs and a bit of catnip, which she’s recently learned about. She’s playful, enjoys a chat now and then—especially when she’s hungry or when someone enters the room—but isn’t overly vocal. She would blossom in a loving, permanent home with caring humans, possibly with other pets if introduced slowly. Sophie’s ideal environment is warm, gentle, and safe—one where she can cuddle, play, and show off her sweet nature every day. Sophie is truly a special kitten who deserves the very best home and a wonderful future. Please reach out to Jake's Place if you'd like to meet her! Sophie is considered a Courtesy Listing. Jake’s Place offers our services to help other responsible rescue groups or individuals find good homes for cats in need. We have screened and interviewed each of the individuals before agreeing to post their cats.

Story
MODESTO, CA: Olive is a shy beauty. This gorgeous Calico would love a quiet, low-activity home with another cat or two to hang with. Olive gets along with senior cats and younger cats in her foster home. She enjoys playing with small fuzzy critters toys and ball toys. Olive communicates with her foster mom when she wants attention with a meow or two and she allows being picked up but doesn't like being held for too long – she's Miss Independent! Olive eats a diet of Fancy Feast and Pura Vita kibble. She likes hanging with her orange tabby brother Leon. Olive was rescued after being dumped at an auto store. She may be a little shy at first, but is a very loving animal and deserves a home of her own.  Olive gets along very well with other cats. She was born in March 2025, approximately. This is a Courtesy Post, and Olive is with the Cat Network of Stanislaus in Modesto, California. For more information, please contact Monica at info@catnetworkofstanislaus.org or 209-735-0604. Visit their website at https://catnetworkofstanislaus.org/ . Please Note: This cat has not yet been tested for FIV/FeLV, to our knowledge. Potential adopters should confirm the cat’s status with the rescue group and should consult with their veterinarian for recommendations regarding testing.November 8, 2025, 6:14 pm

Story
My two college roommates and I adopted BettySuu (now responds to Bugsy also) when I was in college in the summer of 2008. She is approximately 17 years old. She is beautiful and has been a very sweet companion over the years. She likes to be around her owner and is very easy to make happy with small amounts of attention. She has lived with another adult female cat, but I would not recommend she live with other animals if possible. They eventually adapted to each other and got along, but it took awhile. We have a two year old and a two month old, and it has not been good for her to be around young children. She is stressed out by the two year old who antagonizes her and we now have another baby that will add to the stress. Due to the stress, she has been acting out and her behavior is changing. We would prefer she move to a home where she can get her desired amount of attention. Adoption comes with litter box, scratching post, grooming supplies, starter food, etc.
