Story
Hi! I'm Speckles! I was rescued at San Francisco Animal Care & Control. I’m a gorgeous Calico with Tortoiseshell patterned fur and a bit of Tortie cattitude to match. I'm shy at first and maybe even a little sassy but really I’m just a quirky little lovebug in the rough. Once I warm up, I’m very sweet and love receiving pets and massages. I’ll happily announce when it’s time for pets, armpit scritches, and tummy rubs. And if you really want to pamper me, I love being brushed because not only does it feel fabulous, but it also helps my gorgeous fur look its best. I’m not quite a lap cat yet but my foster human thinks it will happen one day. I’m all about receiving pets and being worshipped but I do remove my crown now and then to reveal my playful side. I love peacock feathers because they sort of hypnotize me while making me feel at ease right before I attack them… muahahah!! But if you really want to see me let loose, just toss a few treats and my rambunctious and cartoonish character will be on full display. My foster human is training me to “sit” on command and jump through hoops and yes, I’ll do it for her sometimes but not all of the time because I need to make sure she knows I’m the boss… hee hee. I think I would enjoy having a kitty furiend around who has a calm and quiet purrsonality but as long as I receive lots of love from my human and have lots of windows to look outside, I’ll be a happy kitty. I’m on the hunt for a patient and cat savvy human who speaks my language, will appreciate my silly and occasionally sassy purrsonality, and will join me on my journey towards becoming more comfortable and confident. You can see more of me here @missspreckles. Please note: Indoor onlyMore information & application [ts=1711558950&src=aap]

Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Penny the sun goddess! I’m a pretty 13 year old Calico with the most beautiful green eyes. I was born near Serramonte Ford in Colma, I was rescued with my mom and sister in 2011 who were adopted long ago. I’m a good girl, I use the litter box, and the scratching post. I like sleeping on a human’s bed. I do like to be petted-but on My terms. I'm learning that getting people pets are great and I'm starting to ask for them more and more. I spend my day at the center looking for the sun, I love basking and sleeping in the sunshine but am happy when the volunteers come in to give me attention. I am an active and incredibly smart girl, but can also be quite independent. I need an experienced cat owner (I tend to favor Men) who will give me the time and patience to help adjust to a new home. I maybe alright with children 12 and over that understand the ways of cats. I prefer to be the only cat in the household. Fill out our Adoption Application and meet this special girl in person.

Story
Raquel is a beautiful calico kitten with gorgeous orange tabby, white and black markings. Her dignified personality matches her majestic appearance. Raquel is very sweet, likes to rub up against her human's legs, and she pushes into pets, as opposed to simply accepting them or shying away. Raquel is very smart and has learned to rub against an offered hand in return for treats - it's a favorite trick for her and leads to lots of purrs. Raquel also enjoys being picked up and carried around and loves to have a nap on a lap. Raquel is very bonded to her brother Rimu and they groom and cuddle with each other all the time. Raquel also loves to cuddle with her sister, Rainbow. Raquel would love to be adopted with Rimu or Rainbow. Raquel is fostered in San Mateo. We adopt kittens in pairs unless you have another young kitty at home. They need a feline playmate to play, wrestle, groom and sleep with them. If you would be interested in meeting this kitty, please fill out our online application: https://forms.gle/3CcPeeAKWwQtj1a17 Please note: we make every attempt to keep the information on this site current and cannot always respond to inquiries that do not include an application. Thank you for your understanding.

House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
In the middle of June, 2017, five beautiful kittens were seen running around in a coast side neighborhood backyard. The neighbor contacted rescue people to help these little ones escape the feral life. Although it took some time, these beautiful kittens were trapped and brought inside. Mom cat was also trapped and spayed. The person who trapped the kittens contacted CIW to see if we could help find the kittens their forever homes and we could. The kittens were all healthy, social kittens. They were all current with their vaccinations, are spayed and neutered, are micro-chipped and tested negative for feline leukemia and aids. The kittens were all adopted to lovely families but as sometimes happens, things change. Beau and Lana's Mom, developed an allergy to the kitties and the difficult decision was made to return them to CIW. These 2 beautiful babies are again looking for their forever home together. Beau is a big, friendly boy. He is very sweet and loves cheek scratches and pets, and will often come out and greet you with a little chirp when you come home. He enjoys sleeping on the bed with you and lounging around on the couch or on his cat bed. He is very playful, and he can entertain himself by throwing his mouse around the room, or dashing around after a wand toy. He also loves pouncing on his sister, Lana, and trying to get her to play with him. Beau is a healthy boy who is neutered, current with his vaccinations, and microchipped. Beau is a big honey bear who is looking for his forever home! Lana is a loving girl, and although she takes a bit longer to warm up than her brother, once she gets to know you she is very affectionate. She loves winding around your legs, especially around feeding time or when you’re trying to get out the door for work. Lana loves sitting on her cat tree, and she can lounge the day or night away gazing out the window. She loves to occasionally hunt and pounce on a wand toy or toss a little play mouse around the room. She loves to occasionally hunt and pounce on a wand toy or toss a little play mouse around the room. She grew up around kids and is very comfortable even with toddlers. Story
Maya was found abandoned at the end of a driveway in Half Moon Bay. She was in a carrier with another cat, 2 beds and bowls but no other information. Maya is about 6 years old and healthy but needed a dental which she came through like a champ! Maya's fur coloring is really unique. One side and her head and tail are beautifully colored in browns, oranges and black. Her other side is pure white. It is as if she was born before the powers that be were finished painting the other half of her body. Maya loves attention. She will let you know when she has had enough. She does like to get petted and holds up her end of a conversation. She loves to garner all the attention so it would be best if Maya was an only kitty in her home. Is your family looking for a beautiful blue-eyed princess to be a companion for your family? Maya is waiting for you. Please note: Maya would do best as an only childIndoor onlyMore information & application [ts=1711558906&src=aap]

Story
Lily is a very sweet cat about 9 years old. Well, my son (whom I call the cat whisperer) had 2 cats (in San Francisco where we lived) that he loved and took care of, a kitty and Lily. Now these were his cats - not mine - I am NOT a cat person lol - but when love (for a lady, not a cat) bit my son (ah love) he was faced with a choice, as was I. You see, his lady friend had two small children who were allergic to cat hair, so they had a predicament. But love (human kind) prevailed and his lady said she would try it out but only with 1 cat, not two. So my son asked if I would take one of them & agreed to help him out by taking Lily. So then I decided to move to Florida and I brought Lily. But Lily needs a loving cat person, which is what brings me here. I can only face my son if a loving cat person takes Lily and promises to love and care for her. So is that you? Let me know.🙂
