Sophie is a sweet, 6-month-old calico kitten rescued from the streets of West Oakland just two weeks ago, and she’s ready to find her forever home where she can thrive and share her gentle spirit. Sophie has short, mostly white fur with gorgeous brown and black calico markings on her tail, face, and back and weighs approximately 7.5 lbs. Sophie is spayed, current on her vaccinations, and has tested negative for both FIV and FeLV. She has no special medical needs, and she is not declawed. Sophie has quickly adjusted to indoor life and is fully litter box trained with impeccable house manners—she’s never scratched furniture. Her personality shines through in her love for cuddling and snuggling right next to her humans, especially while they work. Sophie exchanges contented purrs for pets, often rubs affectionately against her caretakers, and gets adorable zoomies a few times each day, mostly in the evenings. She’s quite playful and enjoys toys like wands, small balls, and yarn. This sweet girl has interacted calmly with other cats and is steadily learning to coexist with dogs, hissing less each day as she gets more comfortable with her cockapoo housemates. While she hasn’t met young children yet, she’s proven to be adaptable and loving in her current indoor environment. Sophie has been living in the primary bedroom to help her adjust, and she’s doing wonderfully in a cozy, safe space. She loves Nulo Puree Lickable Cat Packs and a bit of catnip, which she’s recently learned about. She’s playful, enjoys a chat now and then—especially when she’s hungry or when someone enters the room—but isn’t overly vocal. Misty, a charming one-year-old female cat, was rescued from the streets of San Francisco. She has been patiently waiting for a loving home for several months but has yet to receive any applications. Misty is incredibly sweet and has a soft, plush coat that makes her irresistibly cuddly. She loves human interaction and enjoys gentle playtime. Additionally, she gets along well with other cats and small dogs, making her an excellent companion for multi-pet households. Rudy and Rio are a very special bonded pair of kittens! These boys are a little on the shy side and would thrive in a quiet home, but they are gaining confidence each day. Rio recently underwent a leg amputation, but this hardly slows him down! Here's what their foster says about them: "These boys are food motivated and love to play. Sometimes it takes a little coaxing to get Rudy to join in, but he's getting more trusting by the day and he'll practically get in your lap for Churu. Rudy is right there with Rio at feeding times and eagerly comes for treats. Rio loves to sit close to us, follows us around, and enjoys pets. He will roll over on his back if we give him gentle pets during his afternoon siesta. As a tri-pod, he needs a little extra care to ensure he doesn't get into tough situations, but for the most part he is just as playful as Rudy. He jumps up to medium heights (like on top of his carrier or low chair) and does just fine. They both are very playful and chase the wand toy all over the room." Tuna (previously Luna) is a confident, friendly girl! This beautiful, young cat loves people and enjoys head rubs. She is not only outgoing and social, but also playful and affectionate. Tuna knows how to carry on a conversation and is very personable. Break out the wand toy and she's ready to have a ball! Sometimes she even purrs through the play session! She loves to hang out with people, but she did not do well with the young children in her previous home, nor has she been crazy about other cats at the shelter.
