Story
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Amaretto is a 2 year old young lady that one of our volunteers rescued from a precarious life. She was living with her littermates on the street in a high danger zone. We couldn't leave them there, so our volunteer took all of them in to give them a chance at life. Amaretto is a shy girl, it will take her a while to warm up to her humans, but once she does, you have a friend for life. We know she appreciates having been rescued and wants to trust people so badly but it just takes her a little time. She could easily join a home with another cat or cat savvy dog. She is particularly fond of one of her siblings. So if you are interested in adopting a pair, please look at Kahlua's bio as well. They do not need to be adopted together, but if interested in two kitties, they would be a great duo. Because of her initial shyness, we would be open to a foster-to-adopt program with her. If you think she might be the one for you but want to do a trial period to make sure, we can arrange that. She loves her cat tree and soft beds in her foster home. And she is very treat motivated, so that would be a fast track to bonding with her. She just needs a forever person or family to give her a chance. We know her purrfect person will see her post and know she is the one! She has been spayed, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treatment applied and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $150.April 29, 2024, 9:28 pm

He loves to be pet and rubs up against your legs to show his thankfulness to you. He especially loves mealtime, where he is the most vocal. He can't wait to see what's for breakfast, lunch and dinner! He could easily join a home with another cat or cat savvy dog. He is particularly fond of one of his siblings. So if you are interested in adopting a pair, please look at Amaretto's bio as well. They do not need to be adopted together, but if interested in two kitties, they would be a great duo. Kahlua is very playful and would love a cat tree in his new home and lots of toys. We are also looking for a home that will give him a few weeks to settle in as he may present a bit shy at first. And for that reason, we would be open to a foster-to-adopt program with him. If you think he might be the one for you but want to do a trial period to make sure, we can arrange that. Regardless, he is a great guy and deserves the best life ever. Can you make his dreams come true? He has been neutered, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treatment applied and microchipped. His adoption fee is $150.April 29, 2024, 9:28 pm

She has been living with a couple other resident cats and four large breed dogs in her current foster home, so she is very well socialized and could join pretty much any kind of family dynamic.  She would be a great option for a home that wants a friend for an existing kitty or a cat savvy dog. She would also be fine with children. She would be just as happy being an only cat if you are looking for just one kitty to devote all your time too. She is very easy going. She has a very snuggly personality and loves to sleep with her humans in bed at night. She is confident, affectionate and smart. An all-round great kitty. If you think she is the one you have been searching for, apply to adopt this sweetheart as she is sure to be the 'cherry' on top of all your days! She has been spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, flea treatment applied and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $150.April 29, 2024, 9:28 pm

He is very sweet and loves to hang out with his people on the couch while watching TV or snuggling next to them on the bed at night. He also enjoys his cat tree, so that would be a must in his new home. He also is a foodie which has contributed to making him the beautiful big boy he is. He has the sweetest meow. He loves to let you know when he needs some love and will meow at you until you pay attention to him. He's been going to our adoption events for many months now, but he always gets overlooked because he is a little shy in new surroundings. But once he is home and with his people, he is one of the best cats we have. He would love to find his forever home, this fabulous guy has waited long enough. Could he be the one for you? He sure hopes so! Damon has been neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, flea treatment applied and microchipped. His adoption fee is $150.April 29, 2024, 9:28 pm

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Our Hunger Games kittens are 8 months old and looking to find homes that will give them a little time to settle in. They are both sweet and playful but loud noises and quick movements still scare them a little bit. They have made tons of progress in their foster home but still need that little extra amount of patience to allow them to fully trust their humans. They can be adopted together or individually. They also can join a home with another resident cat. Here are some individual traits about both of them. Katniss - She is the more confident of the two. She is cautious at first when meeting new people but warms up very quickly. She loves to play with her brother and also the other kitties in her foster home. She has a very sweet demeanor, and we think as she becomes more and more comfortable, she will be a vocal kitty, she just has to find her voice. She would love to have a forever home and express to you every day how grateful she is for having been rescued. Peeta - This sweet boy is still learning this 'trusting humans' thing but once he thinks you are okay in his book, then he is a purring machine. He loves to play up a storm with any kitty and with any type of toy. He would love a cat tree in his new home too. He just needs someone to give him a chance. We know his forever person is out there, could it be you? They have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, flea treatment applied and microchipped. Their adoption fee is $200 per kitten or $350 for the pair.April 29, 2024, 9:28 pm
