Story
I have a sweet senior gal who has a history she keeps to herself, but this is what I know. About 6 years ago I moved into my apartment and started to notice the outside (feral) cat population. I started to rescue the kittens and a neighbor and I began TNRing the cats.    Right away I noticed this precious kitty was more timid and reserved and seemed to want attention but was very scared. Over time I have gained her trust and I and my daughter were both able to pet and hold her, on her terms, when she wanted. She would rub on us and actively show affection. Over the years I noticed she had on and off URIs and would stay away or hidden often.   This year I was very worried because her fur was matted (which is odd because she is short haired and that usually doesn’t happen), oily and very dirty (a sign she was not taking care of herself), she was loosing weight and  less affectionate. I wasn’t sure she would make it through this coming winter so I had to do something. I ended up being able to get her into a vet bill pay program for feral cats, so I put her into a carrier on August 1st and took her to the vet they recommended on August 2nd, where bloodwork and a urinalysis were done as well as a full exam. She was fully vaccinated, given flea medicine as well as getting her fur cleaned and mats shaved. The vet informed me that Taco is estimated to be about 10 years old and she had severe teeth/dental issues that should be addressed. Her test results all came back normal except that she was anemic but that was most likely due to the fleas she had long term. It was recommended to run bloodwork again in a month to be sure.    Over the next few weeks she gradually stop eating. On September 3rd I finally raised enough money for a rescue discount (through a vet compassionate person even though they could not take her in). Another full exam was done and as well as bloodwork and antibiotics given due the severity of her dental condition. Her bloodwork again came back normal and she was no longer anemic. So on September 5th she had almost all of her teeth removed. Since then she has a great appetite…eating pate and gravy based foods well. She has gained weight and is doing great.    Taco is still a little reserved and cautious but comfortable overall. She needs time to adjust to new people but seems to be coming out of her shell more and more. She is still learning how to be “a pet” and what she likes and is comfortable with. She loves pets and chin scratches but is learning that being held is ok and lap sits are good.    She has another female roommate at the moment and she growls at her sometimes BUT there is NO aggression and they lay near each and co-exist closely. So as long as they are introduced properly, I think she could live with another cat. I feel she would do great in a quiet home. Kids should be fine if they are older and pet savvy. I’m not sure about dogs, but I think it would be ok if the dog is calm and introduced correctly.   Please adopt Taco Gato/Cat. Story
She can be incredibly affectionate—nuzzling into you, curling up in your lap, and showing her softer side when she feels comfortable. However, Kyle has always had a feisty streak and can scratch or bite when the mood strikes. Two roommates adopted Kyle in Atlanta in ~2014 after fostering her for a period of time and falling in love with her unique personally. Once they moved to California, she's been living with one of her initial adopters and their family since 2015, moving between San Francisco and San Diego. She’s currently living with two toddlers, but the chaos of a busy household has become too overwhelming for her. She has started scratching and biting, even unprovoked, which has created an unsafe situation for both her and the children. Kyle is FeLV+, which means she’ll need to be the only cat in the home unless any resident cats are also FeLV+. Kyle would thrive in a calm, adult-only home or with a family with older children who understand her boundaries. She needs a patient, cat-savvy adopter who will give her the space and understanding she deserves. In the right environment, Kyle will be a loving and loyal companion—on her own terms. She loves coming up and asking for cuddles and pets, but also needs her space when she's feeling feisty. Kyle is FeLV+, but hasn't had any medical issues as a result. She is currently taking Prozac, which has been helping a lot her scratching and biting (she's generally gentler and scratches/bites less frequently). . Kyle is currently living in Palo Alto, CA 94301 Please note: Kyle is a Special Needs cat.Kyle needs a home with no young children.More information & application [ts=1772092829&src=aap]

Story
If you’re looking for a cat who brings peace, sweetness, and a whole lot of heart into a home, this is your boy. Affectionately nicknamed our therapy cat, he’s the gentle leader of the group — always checking in on his pals, offering a reassuring groom, initiating a soothing play session, or simply modeling what a calm, confident kitty looks like. He’s incredibly friendly (second only to his bonded brother, Luke!) and absolutely adores people. Belly rubs? Yes, please. Sunbathing in a warm window spot? His daily ritual. Being brushed? Pure bliss. And when he purrs, it’s loud, warm, and downright healing. He’s also powered by treats — they’re his love language. If you’re ready to welcome a cat who radiates kindness, companionship, and comfort, this sweet boy is waiting to fill your home with warmth. He and Luke make an amazing duo, and they’d be thrilled to start their next chapter with you. He was found with his siblings and several other cats living under a shed. After spending his early weeks out in the cold, a compassionate trapper rescued him and brought him to his foster home. He has been raised in a loving foster home ever since. He hopes to be adopted with Luke! He has been treated for fleas, worms, and has received his vaccines. He has been neutered. Obi is currently living in Menlo Park, CA 94025 Please note: Obi should be adopted with a littermateMore information & application [ts=1772092829&src=aap]

Story
Meet Paul, a fun kitten with a zest for life that's truly infectious. His days are filled with playful antics, exploring every nook and cranny with boundless curiosity, and roughhousing with his brother, John. Paul is the epitome of friendliness, always ready to greet you with a purr and eager for a gentle pat. His easy-going nature makes him the perfect companion for any family looking for a sweet, energetic furry friend. Paul and his siblings were found with his mother on a high school’s campus in San Jose. His mom was fixed and released back to the school yard. A school teacher is fostering them while they are looking for their forever homes. They get along with big and small dogs and other cats. Paul and his brother, John, are a bonded pair and to be adopted together. A household with respectful children is preferred. Paul has an eye condition called eyelid agenesis (missing eyelid). Due to this minor defect, he would need eye lubricant applied a couple times a day. He has been neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, and microchipped. Paul is currently living in San Jose, CA 95125 Please note: Paul should be adopted with a littermateMore information & application [ts=1772092829&src=aap]

Story
Very friendly 1-2 year old. Gives head bumps when you pet him, even if you have just met him. Found dumped at a feeding station in Milpitas. Was trapped for TNR and an eye infection. Got TNR'ed, vaccinated, deflead, dewormed at HSSV, and a vet visit for an exam and a long acting antibiotic shot. He is recovering in a catio in San Jose, and getting eye ointment once or twice a day. Trapper was going to release him the next day but I requested to wait another day so that I could find him a place to recover and a chance at adoption. Will microchip before adoption. Ginger is currently living in San Jose, CA 95126 More information & application [ts=1772092829&src=aap]
