Cuddles is a beautiful cat and is so fun to watch. Contrary to her name, she doesn't like being held for long periods of time and appreciates her personal space. She will tolerate being pet but it isn't her favorite activity. She enjoys the company of people from a distance. She wants to be in the same room with her people and know what's going on, she just doesn't want to sit directly on their lap. She likes to run, play and jump and is very graceful about it all. Jasmine is a beautiful, elegant cat and is very smart. She is a nice and gentle cat who appreciates her personal space. She would rather not have people carrying her or touching her much, but, does want to be in the room with them to enjoy their company from a distance. She wants to feel like part of the family and will come up and rub legs on her terms, but does get startled easily with loud noises or fast movements. She likes to run, play with toys, scratch scratchers, eat treats and chase the catnip mice. She does like other cats and really likes to snuggle up and be cozy with her feline friends. She would do well in a home with another kitty friend to keep her company. Damien is a very handsome, but very shy cat. He has been waiting patiently for his forever home since he came to the rescue in 2021.  Sadly, he experienced some trauma and neglect in his life prior to coming to One Love so he is still learning to trust people again. When he came in, he was in rough shape and needed extensive dental surgery. Now that he is all healed from his surgery, he is looking for a quiet, adult only home where he can be given lots of time and patience to learn to trust people again on his own terms. He is very peaceful and gentle, he just prefers minimal human interaction so will generally hide most of the day and only come out to eat and be a normal cat when there are no people around (but we watch him on the camera and see how cute he can be when he feels safe). He is looking for a very special home with a very special, patient and understanding person who appreciates his introversion and can respect his personal space and co-exist with him without expecting him to be a cuddly lap cat. Sweet Zeus has been waiting patiently at the rescue for his forever home since 2021.  He is a gentle and very shy boy.  Sadly, he experienced some trauma and neglect in his life prior to coming to One Love and is taking some time to trust people again. When he came in, he had the worst tooth and gum infection we had ever seen and needed extensive dental surgery and had to have lots of teeth removed. Now that he is all healed from his surgery, he is looking for a quiet, adult only home where he can be given lots of time and patience to learn to trust people again on his own terms. He is very peaceful and gentle, he just prefers minimal human interaction so will generally hide most of the day until he decides the home is safe, then he begins to act more like a normal cat (but still prefers minimal handling). After a month or so, he will warm up and occasionally allow pets from calm and gentle people. He is looking for a very special home with a very special, patient and understanding person who appreciates his introversion and can respect his personal space and co-exist with him without expecting him to be a cuddly lap cat. His brother Damien is very reliant on Zeus for company so we are hoping they can find a home together. Zoe is a sweet girl. She can be shy at first and takes some time to warm up to new people and places but she is very loving once she does. Of course, she has the traditional calico attitude and the attention and affection she gives is always on her terms, but, hey that’s why we love calicos, right? She is very independent and gets along well with cat friendly dogs (big and small) and other cats. She has a strange spot on her nose that none of our vets can figure out – it doesn’t cause her pain or impact her quality of life, but we suspect it’s from a past injury and may or may not heal completely one day. We just think it gives her more character. She still enjoys playing with toys and will eat treats from your hand. Babs is a very shy but sweet girl. She’s had a rough past year and is still a bit leery of new places, but, all she really wants is a home to get settled in and call her own. Once she has some time to adjust, she becomes a very affectionate young lady who purrs as soon as you start petting her. When you scratch her booty, it pops up like a jack in the box, which is how she tells you she’s enjoying it. She will lean into head pets and will roll over and show you her belly to pet once she knows and trusts you. She would do best in a calm environment with a patient family willing to invest some time in letting her get comfortable. Once she blossoms and decides to be your friend, it is one of the most rewarding experiences. She gets along well with other cats but would prefer a home without any dogs.
