Maria was part of a colony that was cleared in Castle Hayne, NC. She is very affectionate, sweet and playful. She originally tested positive for FeLV, but we have repeatedly retested her for a negative result. Her best friend, Ella, is in the same position. Ideally they could be adopted together. New Hanover County, NC animal control reached out to Feline Matchmakers with an SOS for Kricket. She was surrendered to the shelter by people who "couldn't afford" to keep her anymore. Unfortunatley for Kricket, this was a tragedy. She was completely freaked out in the small cage and could not be handled by staff. At a shelter, this only means one thing. So we jumped in and brought her in to our care. With a vet visit and some blood work, we found she had pancreatitus. We treated her and it made a world of difference in her attitude. All health issues have been resolved! Kricket was adopted in to a home with no other cats, her preference. She gave comfort and joy to an elderly lady (who recently passed away) and her caretaker daughter, but now the daughter can not keep Kricket for various reasons. Kricket is now available for adoption again. In order to reduce her stress, we have left her in the daughter's care and will hold meetings for Kricket in her "foster home." Kricket needs a nice, calm household, preferably with no other pets. If there are other pets, they need to be the kind that will ignore her and give her space. Kricket is a dominant female and won't take any smack from others. As an only cat, she is loving and chatty at times. She will require patience in adapting to a new home though; she's not instantly comfortable and will need a few weeks. Dotty is a beautiful 9-year-old black-and-white girl with the sweetest personality! She loves playing hide-and-seek, chasing toys, bringing her humans her favorite stuffies, napping in sunbeams, and curling up on laps. She loves being near her people but is also content relaxing alone while you’re out. She’s adaptable and even handles 5-hour road trips like a champ!Dotty needs to be the only pet in her new home. About a year ago, she began having difficulty with our other cat, and despite careful reintroductions, our vet believes she would be happiest as an only cat.She has mild irritable bowel that is well managed with a limited-protein diet and recently had dental work, so her mouth is healthy and pain-free. We’ll provide food for her transition.Dotty is a sweet, mellow, low-maintenance companion who will come with her favorite bed, toys, food, bowls, and carrier. She’ll be a treasure in the right home!

He enjoys being outside and has a special talent for looking at you like he’s judging you, despite his desire for love. His markings are one of a kind, truly a gorgeous cat.
