Tarzan isn’t ready to trust people just yet, but he LOVES other cats and can tolerate calm dogs . Kids? Not his cup of tea — he prefers a peaceful, kitty-filled environment. Once you’ve earned a few minutes of his trust, he’ll tolerate gentle snuggles and may even purr . As soon as he’s ready, he’ll dash off like his tail’s on fire! She originally tested positive for FeLV, but we have repeatedly retested her for a negative result. Her best friend, Ella, is in the same position. Ideally they could be adopted together. Story

Smokey Jo is a bashful and loving cat. Essentially an anxious princess angel sweetheart. Possibly the cutest cat to ever exist. She loves people, and will follow you room to room. However, due to early experiences as a kitten, she is a bit anxious. She is not skittish, instead she just wants to know you won't run after her and scoop her up out of nowhere. In fact, Smokey will follow you from room to room, she loves to keep her person company. And there will be times where Smokey Jo will pester you with nibbles until you pet her within an inch of her life. She is amazing. That is all. Smokey flourishes with patience and consistency. She deserves all the doting love someone can give her. A sweet grandma that takes the time to knit Smokey hats is the energy we are hoping for her future. Because of her anxiety Smokey can develop urinary crystals at times, and has a sensitive stomach and urinary tract. As long as she is kept on her special urinary diet and in a peaceful home, she is fine.

New Hanover County, NC animal control reached out to Feline Matchmakers with an SOS for Kricket. She was surrendered to the shelter by people who "couldn't afford" to keep her anymore. Unfortunatley for Kricket, this was a tragedy. She was completely freaked out in the small cage and could not be handled by staff. At a shelter, this only means one thing. So we jumped in and brought her in to our care. With a vet visit and some blood work, we found she had pancreatitus. We treated her and it made a world of difference in her attitude. All health issues have been resolved! Kricket was adopted in to a home with no other cats, her preference. She gave comfort and joy to an elderly lady (who recently passed away) and her caretaker daughter, but now the daughter can not keep Kricket for various reasons. Kricket is now available for adoption again. In order to reduce her stress, we have left her in the daughter's care and will hold meetings for Kricket in her "foster home." Kricket needs a nice, calm household, preferably with no other pets. If there are other pets, they need to be the kind that will ignore her and give her space. Kricket is a dominant female and won't take any smack from others. As an only cat, she is loving and chatty at times. She will require patience in adapting to a new home though; she's not instantly comfortable and will need a few weeks. Ruby is a very sweet cat that should go to a home with no children or other pets. She has struggled to get along with her sibling and since we’ve had a baby has been aggressive towards the baby. I adopted her from an unfortunate situation where she was left in a home, and I do believe she has a small amount of Ruby can be be skittish, but once she has the confidence in her space, she is extremely cuddly and sweet.
