We are looking to rehome Frankie due to her more aggressive behaviors towards our baby.We adopted Frankie in 2019 from the Fort Collins Cat Rescue as an 8-week old kitten and has been showing some behaviors since we first adopted her, incl. biting, hissing, clawing, biting, excessive meowing, and difficulty getting along with our other cat.She tends to do well in a calm environment where she can do her own thing. However , she truly enjoys being around people and sleeping/laying with you whenever she can.We’re looking for someone who might be able to give her a home with no other pets or kids, potentially explore the option of making her an outdoor cat as she shows a great desire to go outside. Unfortunately we can’t make her outdoors since it would cause issues with our other indoor cat.

Story

Smokey Jo is a bashful and loving cat. Essentially an anxious princess angel sweetheart. Possibly the cutest cat to ever exist. She loves people, and will follow you room to room. However, due to early experiences as a kitten, she is a bit anxious. She is not skittish, instead she just wants to know you won't run after her and scoop her up out of nowhere. In fact, Smokey will follow you from room to room, she loves to keep her person company. And there will be times where Smokey Jo will pester you with nibbles until you pet her within an inch of her life. She is amazing. That is all. Smokey flourishes with patience and consistency. She deserves all the doting love someone can give her. A sweet grandma that takes the time to knit Smokey hats is the energy we are hoping for her future. Because of her anxiety Smokey can develop urinary crystals at times, and has a sensitive stomach and urinary tract. As long as she is kept on her special urinary diet and in a peaceful home, she is fine.

New Hanover County, NC animal control reached out to Feline Matchmakers with an SOS for Kricket. She was surrendered to the shelter by people who "couldn't afford" to keep her anymore. Unfortunatley for Kricket, this was a tragedy. She was completely freaked out in the small cage and could not be handled by staff. At a shelter, this only means one thing. So we jumped in and brought her in to our care. With a vet visit and some blood work, we found she had pancreatitus. We treated her and it made a world of difference in her attitude. All health issues have been resolved! Kricket was adopted in to a home with no other cats, her preference. She gave comfort and joy to an elderly lady (who recently passed away) and her caretaker daughter, but now the daughter can not keep Kricket for various reasons. Kricket is now available for adoption again. In order to reduce her stress, we have left her in the daughter's care and will hold meetings for Kricket in her "foster home." Kricket needs a nice, calm household, preferably with no other pets. If there are other pets, they need to be the kind that will ignore her and give her space. Kricket is a dominant female and won't take any smack from others. As an only cat, she is loving and chatty at times. She will require patience in adapting to a new home though; she's not instantly comfortable and will need a few weeks. We would prefer to have her in a Foster-To-Adopt situation for an approved applicant. All Feline Matchmakers cats get age appropriate vaccinations, fixed, tested and microchipped prior to adoption. Ozzie is a healthy, neutered black cat who's affectionate on his own terms — cuddly and sweet especially first thing in the morning, but he needs his space respected otherwise and will let you know when he's had enough. He's smart, food-motivated, and highly trainable (knows sit, spin, "get down"), and needs interactive play (wand toys, puzzle feeders) rather than passive play. He enjoys harness walks outdoors, and I believe he would do best in a home that can give him regular outside time. He does best as an only cat in a home with no children, as he bullied our resident cat (who wouldn't stand up to him) and can be territorial over people and toys — a home with another cat isn't recommended unless that cat would confidently hold its own. A calm, non-aggressive dog could work if it wouldn't be pushed around. He has pretty significant food aggression, so free feeding may help with that, but should be separated during mealtime or when you prep food.
