Lolita likes to do things on her own terms, and while she’s not always a lap cat, she does have a softer side she saves for quiet moments when she feels extra safe (we suspect she might just be a little bashful about it). She’s a master of hide-and-seek, and you’ll often spot just the tip of her tail peeking out from under the couch or hear mysterious clanks and adventures happening in the basement. Reva is a cute little tortoiseshell who was found motherless with her brother Edison and sister Neva who were already adopted together. They were left outside as a man who took their mother while they were still young and nursing and "disposed" of her. We are very upset with the man who openly admitted to removing seven cats of which three had nursing babies at the time. This is illegal but the management of the park refuses to press charges for animal abuse. There are nine remaining surviving kittens in total who have suffered from this cruel man's actions and his taking pleasure in seeing these kittens die of starvation as he watched them from his windows refusing to feed them or call a rescue to take them. These sisters were very scared, starving, all bones when we got to them. Reva has since made friends with a male at her fosters house and there is a dog there she seems to be okay around. So we are looking home with a male cat who needs a friend and a home with a dog as well, could work for Reva. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Edith! Edith is a gorgeous long-haired calico, about five years old, whose gentle soul has weathered a difficult past. She was rescued from a cat colony in Detroit, living rough on the streets with her adult daughter, Esther. When a kind volunteer noticed that both were friendly — and both expecting kittens — she brought them to safety in foster care. When Edith arrived, she was weary and unsure of this whole “indoor life.” She was sick with an upper respiratory infection, her fur was matted, and she was covered in grime from surviving outdoors. Yet through it all, she was patient and tolerant — just distant and guarded. She allowed her foster mom to clean her up, give her medicine, and trim away the tangles, even if her heart wasn’t ready to trust yet. Over time, Edith began to soften. She learned that gentle hands meant kindness, and that love could be safe. After twelve weeks, she finally approached on her own — purring, rubbing for affection, and accepting love freely. Her foster mom cried happy tears that day. Edith has shown extraordinary compassion, not only raising her own kittens with care but nurturing her grown daughter, Esther, as well. The two share a remarkably close bond — Edith can be protective of her, and they find great comfort in each other’s company. Now, Edith is ready for the next chapter: a peaceful, patient home where she can continue to blossom. She’s calm, affectionate, and deeply loving once she trusts you — a living reminder that even the most guarded hearts can heal with time and kindness. Edith does need a daily probiotic and lysine to keep her healthy and happy! All of our cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped, tested for FIV/FELV , and up to date on vaccinations including rabies, distemper, and dewormer. She was rescued alongside her mother, Edith, from a cat colony in Detroit where they were both living rough on the streets — and both pregnant. While her mother was shy and cautious at first, Esther quickly showed her outgoing side.
