Percy is the best cat and I’m heartbroken over this decision. After 2 years the dog and him do not get along. He will do best in a home by himself or maybe a small dog that will not run after him all day!

Story
Meet Poppi! Poppi is a little shy, a trait that only adds to her charm. She appreciates the company of her fellow felines, finding comfort and companionship in their presence. Which makes her a great addition to a home that already has feline friends. She has a soft spot for treats, but don't expect her to be overly affectionate. Poppi might not be the type to sit on your lap and purr, but she will bring joy and companionship to your home. Her unique personality makes her the perfect pet for someone who appreciates a cat with an independent spirit. Poppi requires a patient and understanding adopter. Someone who can understand her initial reticence and give her the time she needs to come out of her shell. The joy of watching Poppi bloom into a confident, loving pet is a reward in itself. Poppi is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org. Adoption fees are as follows: $175 for a single cat or kitten, $225 for a pair of cats or kittens. When adopting a cat from AHSEM the adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, age appropriate core vaccines, microchipping, combo tested (for FIV/FeLV), and basic wellness care including deworming and flea treatment.

Story
Meet Snooki! Snooki is a gorgeous tabico with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She’s equal parts cuddlebug and diva—sweet as can be one minute and giving you the “that’s enough, human” look the next. Don’t worry, her famous little “swipes” aren’t mean—just her polite way of saying, “Please, I need some me time.” This girl knows what she wants, and honestly? We respect that. She loves a good snuggle session when she’s in the mood, and she absolutely lives for interactive play. Wand toys, feather teasers, catnip mice—Snooki is your go-to gal for a rousing round of chase-the-string. Snooki was found in a motel parking lot in Royal Oak, but you’d never guess it now—she’s traded that street life for the good life, and she’s ready to find her forever stage. She can be cautious with new feline friends but may do just fine with a slow intro to another chill cat. She’d thrive in a calm, steady home where she can get plenty of attention without too much chaos. An experienced cat person who understands her sass and loves her for it will be her perfect match. Snooki isn’t just a cat—she’s a whole vibe. If you’re looking for a little sass, a lot of love, and endless entertainment, she’s your girl. Snooki is currently in a foster home.

Story
Meet Margie, a sweet and gentle senior cat looking for her forever home! Margie is a gentle and loving soul looking for a quiet forever home to call her own. At 9 years young, she has a heart full of affection and a curious nature that will brighten your days. Margie’s journey hasn’t been easy—she was abandoned at a workplace before finding her way to our rescue. Despite her tough past, she’s ready to embrace a future filled with love and care. Born without a tail due to her Manx heritage and now toothless, Margie’s unique features only add to her special charm. Don’t worry, her balance is just fine—Manx cats are known for their agility, and Margie loves exploring her surroundings. Her favorite activities include gentle pets, cozy naps, and being your quiet, loyal companion. Margie thrives in a one-pet household where she can soak up all the love and attention. If you’re seeking a cuddly, low-maintenance companion with a loving heart, Margie could be your perfect match. Are you ready to give Margie the peaceful forever home she deserves? Margie is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting her, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org Adoption fees are as follows: $175 for a single cat or kitten, $225 for a pair of cats or kittens. Story
Meet Raven & Jack Fruit — Not littermates, but soulmates. Raven (2 years old) is a sleek, gorgeous little panther with the prettiest, most knowing eyes. Jack Fruit (1 year old) is a handsome tabby with bold, beautiful stripes. Their bond was formed through shared hardship, and it’s one we are determined to protect. We both came from a hoarding situation, so patience will be key as we settle into a new home. Change can feel overwhelming at first, but with time, love, and consistency, we blossom. Raven here — I’m the bold one. The brave explorer. The protector of my sweet Jack Fruit. I love climbing a tall cat tree (bonus points if it’s by a window — I will judge your placement choices). I’m a free spirit who shows affection by weaving around your legs and delivering excellent head bops. I like to know what’s going on, and I take my big-sister duties seriously. And then there’s me, Jack Fruit. Honestly, my name could’ve been Turtle. I take my time. I process. I may hide in or under cat beds at first — sometimes even under a blankie on the couch — so please check carefully before you sit down. We really don’t want to have to rename me Smash Potato. But when I feel safe? I am incredibly affectionate. I’ll join you on the couch, accept cuddles, and quietly soak up your love. I just need someone who understands that trust takes time — and that I’m worth every bit of patience. We are good with other cats and calm dogs, but we’d prefer a home without young children (older, respectful kids would be okay). Most importantly, we need to stay together. We’ve overcome so much by being each other’s comfort and courage. Raven gives me confidence. I give her devotion. Together, we balance beautifully. If you have a calm home, a sunny window with a cat tree, and a heart big enough for two deeply bonded souls, we’re ready to start our next chapter — together. Raven & Jack Fruit are currently at our PetSmart location on Telegraph. If you are interested in meeting him, please send a message here, or email adopt@ahsem.org.

Story
Hi, I’m Jayne I’m a sleek little house panther with just a tiny white spot on my chest—like a secret signature so you can tell me apart from the other shadows in the room. I was born outdoors, but I was lucky enough to be rescued and grow up safe and cozy inside. Let me just say… indoor life is the best. Soft blankets, steady meals, toys that crinkle and jingle? I’m thriving. I get along great with other cats and even dogs. I’d love to be adopted with one of my siblings so we can keep our cuddle piles going strong. If that’s not possible, I’ll need a home with another friendly, playful kitty. I’m not meant to be a solo act—I like having a partner in zoomies and naps. Now, about my personality: I’m silly, playful, and full of fun. I take playtime very seriously. Be warned though—sometimes when I’m feeling extra excited, I’ll grab onto your arm and refuse to let go (all in good fun, of course!). I just get a little enthusiastic about life. When the zoomies wind down, I’m all about the snuggles. I love curling up with my people and my siblings, soaking in the warmth and purring away. If you’re looking for a playful little panther with personality, affection, and just the right amount of spunky charm, I’m your girl. Jayne is currently in a foster home.
