This gentle little guy has a loving personality that melts hearts instantly. He’s a total cuddle bug who adores being close to his people — whether that’s curling up in your lap, snuggling beside you on the couch, or following you around just to be near. Nate is incredibly affectionate and thrives on attention and companionship. Of course, he’s still very much a playful kitten! He loves chasing toys, batting at feathers, and showing off his adorable zoomies before settling in for snuggle time. She had a litter of four healthy kittens in April and was a very attentive mother. But now it’s her turn. She is warm and affectionate and surprisingly very quiet. She loves long sessions of cuddling on your lap, making biscuits and purring and she'll let you know when she's done. She likes to climb and be above the floor. She needs to be an only pet please and older kids only. While she is a big love, she isn’t very tolerant of younger children. She wanted us to mention, that she would appreciate a cat tree or two. Smokey girl deserves the best life!! She has not been exposed to dogs. All of our cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped, tested for FIV/FELV , and up to date on vaccinations including rabies, distemper, and dewormer. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Mellow truly lives up to his name, from car rides to playtime, he always has a sweet and calm demeanor. He is very smart and a little clingy. He loves people and frequently turns on his back for belly rubs. Just be sure not to rub his belly for more than a couple seconds, he's sensitive about it sometimes. Sadly, we lost Dynamite (his brother) to kidney failure. It came on very sudden and despite getting him to Wilson's Veterinary Hospital quickly, he was unable to recover and lost the battle. We are hopeful that Mellow will be adopted to an awesome family who can help to soothe his broken heart! Mellow will be 11 years old this month and still loves to play with toys but won't exhaust you like a kitten would. 20 minutes a day of play is more than enough for him. He also loves being brushed - he purrs and tumbles onto his back to give you better space to brush him. His beautiful, all orange coat and green eyes simply add to his appeal. He will come to greet you when you come home. Mellow is a very goofy and amusing cat as you can see in his videos. He is especially treat motivated. His foster mom was able to teach him to jump on the cat tree with treats! You will likely be able to train him as he's quite smart for a cat. He is not fooled by the laser pointer, unlike his brother! He was bonded with his brother Dynamite and and will miss him, so he may need help to fill the void left by his brother's passing. Mellow loves to watch the birds out the window. His foster home has a bird feeder right outside the window and his cat tree next to it. Mellow will come with many of his favorite things, his cat tree, litter boxes, plates, toys, treats. His foster parents are willing to zoom call or meet with you if you want to see him. He would do best in a house with no dogs. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Edith! Edith is a gorgeous long-haired calico, about five years old, whose gentle soul has weathered a difficult past. She was rescued from a cat colony in Detroit, living rough on the streets with her adult daughter, Esther. When a kind volunteer noticed that both were friendly — and both expecting kittens — she brought them to safety in foster care. When Edith arrived, she was weary and unsure of this whole “indoor life.” She was sick with an upper respiratory infection, her fur was matted, and she was covered in grime from surviving outdoors. Yet through it all, she was patient and tolerant — just distant and guarded. She allowed her foster mom to clean her up, give her medicine, and trim away the tangles, even if her heart wasn’t ready to trust yet. Over time, Edith began to soften. She learned that gentle hands meant kindness, and that love could be safe. After twelve weeks, she finally approached on her own — purring, rubbing for affection, and accepting love freely. Her foster mom cried happy tears that day. Edith has shown extraordinary compassion, not only raising her own kittens with care but nurturing her grown daughter, Esther, as well. The two share a remarkably close bond — Edith can be protective of her, and they find great comfort in each other’s company. Now, Edith is ready for the next chapter: a peaceful, patient home where she can continue to blossom. She’s calm, affectionate, and deeply loving once she trusts you — a living reminder that even the most guarded hearts can heal with time and kindness. She was rescued alongside her mother, Edith, from a cat colony in Detroit where they were both living rough on the streets — and both pregnant. A caring volunteer saw how friendly they were and brought them to safety just in time for each to have her babies in comfort and love. While her mother was shy and cautious at first, Esther quickly showed her outgoing side.
